"I wish I could leave pictures of the sunsets over the lake. We would eat some of our meals on the deck. Birds abound making photography so easy. Ricardo has been a joy to work with. We went to the San Antonio Christian Church on Sunday an American service {8:45} and received two invites to members homes making awesome connections in this beautiful country. My soul feels so restored after staying at this mountain resort for a week. Each and every recommendation Ricardo gave us was PERFECT! I can only pray I can go back. Thank you Ricardo and Franklin too."

  • Memories made! Hope to return soon.

"Great fortune became ours as we were referred to and stayed in this beautiful home. Our group of 10 consisted of 2 families (children’s ages 4-16). The home is modern with fun Costa Rican style/details. It is oceanfront, clean, air conditioned, and comfortable with beautiful views of the ocean and tropical gardens surrounding it! All ages enjoyed the beach and grounds. It was a delight to watch our 4 year olds play tirelessly in the terraced patio area and beachfront yard (oh, and they also danced and sang with vigor in the outdoor shower), while the teens enjoyed boogie boarding and learning to surf. The adults adventured via sea kayak (kayak provided) and explored the coast. We were showered with hospitality and incredible service prior to and throughout our stay. The owners promptly and continually answered questions in advance as we prepared to travel. Martin (caretaker) greeted us upon arrival and was available daily as he tidied up the grounds. Carmen (housekeeper) was a delight as she cheerfully and carefully cleaned the home. Babe, the property manager, was an incredible and invaluable resource! She kept regular contact with us (prior to and during our stay) and even made a visit to the home to meet us. She is knowledgeable and connected with the community and local tourism. She coordinated an in-home hair braid/wrap for our teen daughter, an in-home massage, and arranged our Sunset Cruise on the Lazy Lizard, and answered innumerable questions promptly. I cannot say enough about the owners, property manager and staff. They made it a great and memorable first visit to Costa Rica! We’d definitely recommend this property to have the comforts of home while experiencing the local culture that surrounds."

  • Family with young kids

"Two families met at this house with 2 toddlers and a baby. House is just as pictured. Very clean. Has all the appliances/amenities one would need. However it does NOT come with AC throughout (only in the bedrooms) which is fine but just different from what the website says. Also does have a washing machine but NOT a dryer (although there are clothes lines outside). Pool is lovely, kept clean daily by groundskeeper who lives right next door. This guy is also available for any other concerns or questions, although we had none. Property manager, Randy, was friendly and met us at the house upon arrival. Seems like a good guy. We were concerned about having to pay with cash only (does not take credit cards except for deposit) but it was all legit. Property is located directly on the beach and along a strip of homes. Next door neighbors are visible from yard but with landscape still have a fair amount of privacy. It was perfect for us: we like our privacy but also good to not be too secluded when in a foreign country. We felt very safe in this area. Locks on house are appropriate. Beach is clean and no rocks, but unfortunately is a little steep and also small during high tide, so not a great beach for kids to play on. Beach not too crowded. Good for sitting to watch the sunset, taking walks and playing in the water. Water was clean (no seaweed) and fairly warm, but was not the crystal blue waters like we've seen on other beaches (not sure if that's due to location or timing). Grassy part of yard in January was completely burnt yellow and dry, unlike the nice green lush grass seen in the pics, so again not great for kids to play on. No crib available but we made do making bumpers around a bed for the baby. Huge roosters were in our yard each morning and a family of monkeys came to visit us one afternoon-- fun for the kids!"

  • Perfect for a family of 18! Enjoyed by All.

"My family of 18 rented the entire estate for a week. Ages 7 to 62. We were impressed with the accommodations. Plenty of room for everyone. The description and pictures of the estate are very accurate. Each house provided excellent accommodations. We spent the week with a different activity each day- zip lining with Sky Adventures, multi adventure day pass at the Springs Resort & Spa, Cultour and a day at the beach. Although it rained off and on throughout the week, the activities continued and were great! Just beware that the trip from San Jose can be lengthy compared to Liberia, but we found the airfare to be much more economical from San Jose . I left the best asset for last which is Tom and Maria. Communications prior to the trip made for easy planning. Maria will help with transportation, making reservations for excursions and restaurants and is attentive throughout the week regarding any problems or questions. She is very friendly and welcoming. My family definitely learned the meaning of Pura Vida!"
