"We spent eight nights at the Arenal Lakefront House from February 21st - February 29th, 2016. The house was clean and very comfortable. It had everything that we needed and more. It has a very private, well maintained backyard with a huge expanse of lawn and many flowering shrubs and tress. The owner Pat was very helpful and gave us very good directions for finding the house and advised us on the many activities and sightseeing spots nearby. He was quick to answer all of our questions and provide us with any information that we requested. When we arrived on February 21st, Coryn the Property Manager met us at the house and clearly explained all that we needed to know concerning the house. It was also very nice that she had provided us with eggs, coffee, juice for the next morning. We had a rental vehicle so it was easy for us to go to the grocery store in nearby Tronadora (8 minutes away) and if we wanted to go to a larger supermarket we would go to Tilaran which was only about 15 minutes away. We were able to do our banking at Tilaran. We especially enjoyed having our coffee in the mornings on the patio looking out over the lake and seeing all the tropical birds, monkeys and wildlife so close at hand. We were so pleased to see the Toucans, parrots and Howler Monkeys every morning and evening in the trees. We managed to get some good photos.
If we didn't feel like cooking we would go out for lunch or dinner. Some of our favorite restaurants were La Brisas which is just a few minutes from the house, Cafe Macadamia (20 minutes away) which is on the road to Arenal and Pradora which is a Steakhouse on the way to Tilaran (10 minutes away). The Puerto San Luis Yaht Club is only about a two minute walk from the house and it also has a restaurant and swimming pool. You are able to use the swimming pool for a small fee. We flew out of Liberia on the way home and it was about an hour and half drive. Give yourself extra time as the road is under construction. We would definitely recommend this rental house and if we go back to this area of Costa Rica in the future we would stay at this location again. This house is about an hour and a half from La Fortuna and about an hour from Monteverde, both good sights to visit if you are in Costa Rica.
