  • Outstanding Home

"Our stay in Costa Rica was outstanding. A huge part of our enjoyment was knowing we were returning to a well-kept private home to relax and unwind. The Villa met our expectations from cleanliness to furniture comfort. We would definitely stay here again and have already told friends to inquire if they plan to visit the area. Thank you Russell for providing a home away from home."

  • Beautiful Home with Great Property Managers

"My family and I had a great time at Villa Aurelia. The home is beautiful, the kitchen is great, and we all loved the pool. We spent our mornings at the beach and the afternoons at the pool - can't ask for a better vacation. The property managers were also great in helping us arrange for a personal chef to come to the house (who was wonderful!), book excursions, book our rental car and just navigate around the city. But there were a couple of things I wish we had known before we arrived. The home sits on a hill, which allows for a great view of Playa Hermosa. But the drive up to the house isn't ideal. Only the part right by the house is paved, and the rest is a steep, uneven dirt road. A rental car is a must, and you won't really be able to walk anywhere from the house because of the hill. Especially if you have young children, like we did. The other item we wished we had known about was the water. We were told about two days before our trip that there were severe water restrictions in place, but they shouldn't impact our vacation as long as we limited the length of our showers. Not a big deal. When we arrived the water tank was about 1/3 full, which was enough to last us a few days. But because of the above mentioned road, the water truck didn't fill the tank on Monday like they were supposed to. We went a day and a half without running water at the house, which was frustrating. The property managers were very helpful in fixing the pipe down to the road and getting trucks to come out as quickly as the could to refill the tank. Hopefully the pipe they installed prevents this from happening to anyone else, but just wanted to share our experience. And although it was frustrating, we still had a wonderful vacation."

  • Perfect Family Retreat in Playa Hermosa

"We had a wonderful time staying at Chris' unit in Villas Sol! At first, my husband was a little disappointed that the unit didn't have the view offered by many others advertised on VRBO in Playa Hermosa. However, we quickly realized that our unit's proximity to the beach was far more important and convenient than if we had rented a villa with a view as those units were all located up a very steep hillside! The unit itself was very clean and spacious and had all of the amenities we needed. The patio was perfect for playing board games, dining al fresco or simply reading and/or napping on a chaise and the small pool was ideal for our use with two small children ages 5 and 2. They LOVED it!! Plus, if we wanted to go socialize and play around in a bigger pool, there was that option also with the other two resort pools! Being in the complex itself made us feel safer and it was nice knowing that if we needed ANYTHING (especially having small children with us) there was always 24 hour staff that could assist us. Another great thing about being a part of the resort was that they offered great tours, as well as car rentals. I highly recommend getting shuttled into Villas Sol (preferably by Liberia Shuttle-Javier is great!) and renting a car from the resort. As it turned out, it was actually CHEAPER to rent from them than it was to rent near the airport AND it was much more convenient. Playa Hermosa itself was so peaceful with very few people on it at any given time. It is definitely not the 'mill' that Playas del Coco or Tamarindo are where you have people begging for money or trying to sell you things at your every turn. I think we were approached maybe twice to buy something the entire week we were in Playa Hermosa. As for restaurants, we favored Roberto's! We found it to have the best location, delicious food and a wonderful waitstaff!! AquaSport was also another fun spot a little further down. And if you rent a car, you MUST find Father Roosters! It's kind of tucked away in Playa Ocotal, but once you find it, you'll love it! Good food (although a bit on the pricey side), great entertainment and waitstaff and spectacular sunsets! Just a really unique place! All in all, we had a fabulous time while staying at Chris' unit and HIGHLY RECOMMEND it!! She, too, was a gem to work with and made everything very simple and stress-free. We can't wait to return to our newly found paradise as soon as possible!"

  • Paradise on the Beach

"The Blue Villa was unreal. The location is right on the south end of Playa Hermosa Beach and is absolutely beach front, best sunset views we've ever had. The house fit our 8 guest perfectly (4 adults and 4 kids 7-13 yrs old). I could not have designed a better layout if I tried. We spent most of the time on the back deck and in the water. One unexpected surprise was Freddie the property caretaker. He lives right onsite and was invaluable in helping us with everything from showing us how all the appliances work to helping us fix our paddle board pump. The whole stay was perfect and we will be back again."
