  • Wonderful Playa Hermosa Beach House

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This beach villa exceeded any expectations that I had for my family when I booked it. We looked at several rentals in the Playa Hermosa area and chose this one because of it's size (4 bedrooms) and setting right on the beach. For me, it was one of those 'bucket list' trips since one of my daughters and two college age grandkids came along. The home was comfortable and bedrooms were air conditioned. My grandkids, both college athletes, wanted to watch the Olympics and Jennifer the manager arranged to install a big flat screen t-v on the outdoor living/deck area. The housekeepers, Freddy and Dalia, kept the home immaculate with daily service, which made my wife and daughter happy! The beach was only steps away and a daily highlight was watching sunsets. We did scuba diving (recommend Rich Coast Diving in Playa Coco) and zip lining (recommend Diamante) and went to different beaches almost every day. The only thing I'd say, and Playa Hermosa has this issue, is there is very little water pressure for showers, etc. Only one person could shower at a time. That said, we loved this place. Freddy and Dalia even cooked a couple meals for us and it was wonderful. They set the tables and served us out on the back lawn under the stars. We even had monkeys visit a couple days in the trees next door! Thank you for making our family trip so enjoyable."

  • Great villa, excellent location!

"Myself, husband and 4 year old daughter stayed July 26-August 3. We had a great time, this was our 5th trip back to Costa Rica. Although we haven't been back in 5 years we were worried about the development of Playa Hermosa. We were pleasantly surprised that little had changed, a few new buildings but nothing crazy. The beach is still as beautiful as the first time we visited. The Villa was great and had everything that we needed. We did have a problem with the AC, but was fixed very promptly. The pool did get cloudy our last 3 days, but we played in the ocean so it wasn't too much of a problem. Chris and Amy were really easy to reach and help solve problems. Very short walk down to the beach that we did everyday, my daughter liked to ride the tram so we rode that back to the villa office on the way back. If you do plan a stay buy groceries in Cocos, the snack shop for the hotel/villa is very pricey. My husband spoke with Amy from Avispas, turns out she does dog rescue and my husband is a veterinarian. We had a great time and would highly recommend this villa."

  • First time to Costa Rica

"We had a great time in Costa Rica with experiences that will last a life time. I was impressed with Scott and his willingness to give all information about the condo and information on things we could do while on our trip, it really eased my stress of arranging everything for my family. The condo its self was perfect for our family of six; it had plenty of room and loved the location right next to the pool not to mention the three bathrooms. Scott's friend Ariel came by to discuss tour options. Ariel became a part of our family since he was along with us on our adventurous days. First we went on his boat and snorkeled, he also took us to a white sand beach which was beautiful. The next adventure was a fully day of zip lining, tubing, riding horses, and the hot springs. Ariel spent the entire day with us and help us along the way. The third trip was on the river to see the monkeys and crocs. again Ariel travel with us as our tour guide. I felt very safe and seen things that I otherwise would not have if Ariel was not our guide so I HIGHLY recommend his services. Overall I would recommend the condo, Ariel's tours, and Costa Rica!"

  • Location, Location, Location!!!

"A group of 10 of us, ranging in age from 10 years old to 74 years old stayed here for an amazing week. This house may have the best location in Playa Hermosa, as it is right on the beach, and less than a 2 minute walk to multiple restaurants. Literally, you walk out of the gate, step 30 feet down the path through the grass, and you are right on the beach. It doesn't get any better than that. The house itself is huge, with plenty of space for multiple families. Upstairs is the master suite and one gigantic bathroom, along with a small bunkroom as well. There is a sitting area, and a covered patio upstairs, and then there are three bedrooms with attached bathrooms downstairs. The multiple living areas are large, and well laid out, and the pool was great. Coconut and mango trees throughout the property, as well as a family of howler monkeys that like to hang out in the trees. The kitchen has two refrigerators, and there are more towels and linens than anyone could use in a week. This is a walled compound, and is very safe, and the caretaker lives right on the grounds with his family, Andre and his family were great, very unobtrusive, but helped us with anything we needed. Individual AC units downstairs and a very strong AC unit upstairs. The compound is located right next door to Roberto's. The beach is very nice, and the water by and large is very calm. Just down the beach was some amazing snorkeling, and you can take snorkeling trips right off of the beach, where we saw an amazing array of fish. In fact, the snorkeling was much better than we anticipated that it would be. Playa Hermosa is not a huge party area, which was fine for us. Playa Del Coco was about 10 minutes away by car, with a number of large grocery stores, nightclubs and restaurants. We found, however, that pretty much anything we wanted to eat we could walk to from Villa Daquiri. We were down during a school break, and even so, it was not very crowded at all. An added bonus was the fact that it was about 25 minutes from the airport to the beach. As far as activities were concerned, we did multiple snorkeling trips and a fishing trip, leaving right from the beach in front of the house, as well as a zip lining excursion that was less than 30 minutes away. This villa is comfortable, convenient, close to restaurants and right on the beach. A great place from which to explore everything that Costa Rica has to offer. Overall, it is very highly recommended by our group."
