  • Costa Rica Perfection - Luxurious Condo

"What a beautiful Condo. We had an amazing trip and totally fell in love with the Condo and Costa Rica. We stayed there during the rainy season, but our fears about the rain were unwarranted. Yes, it did rain almost every day, but it was short and actually nice, so we all agreed that we probably would prefer this season to an all dry season. Everything was also so lush and green. Our two boys and I loved the Ocean. We were out Boogie boarding every day and the waves were perfect for it! My wife preferred the infinity pool. So cool to almost have that entire place to yourself. There were only a couple of other guests that we saw while we were there. We had the chef Roy come cook for us like you had recommended. Unfortunately it rained that evening, so our plans of dining on the beach didn't work out, but we still had a wonderful dinner in the Condo. We drove to El Viejo Wetlands to do the Palo Verde river tour. Wonderful people, lunch and tour. Saw probably 10-15 crocs, White faced monkeys, lots of iguanas and tons of birds. Also did the Congo tour like you recommended. Word of caution on Google Maps navigation - It will pick the shortest route :) Glad we got a 4WD rental. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful Condo with us. We will definitely return!"

  • Beautiful Home with Great Property Managers

"My family and I had a great time at Villa Aurelia. The home is beautiful, the kitchen is great, and we all loved the pool. We spent our mornings at the beach and the afternoons at the pool - can't ask for a better vacation. The property managers were also great in helping us arrange for a personal chef to come to the house (who was wonderful!), book excursions, book our rental car and just navigate around the city. But there were a couple of things I wish we had known before we arrived. The home sits on a hill, which allows for a great view of Playa Hermosa. But the drive up to the house isn't ideal. Only the part right by the house is paved, and the rest is a steep, uneven dirt road. A rental car is a must, and you won't really be able to walk anywhere from the house because of the hill. Especially if you have young children, like we did. The other item we wished we had known about was the water. We were told about two days before our trip that there were severe water restrictions in place, but they shouldn't impact our vacation as long as we limited the length of our showers. Not a big deal. When we arrived the water tank was about 1/3 full, which was enough to last us a few days. But because of the above mentioned road, the water truck didn't fill the tank on Monday like they were supposed to. We went a day and a half without running water at the house, which was frustrating. The property managers were very helpful in fixing the pipe down to the road and getting trucks to come out as quickly as the could to refill the tank. Hopefully the pipe they installed prevents this from happening to anyone else, but just wanted to share our experience. And although it was frustrating, we still had a wonderful vacation."

  • PERFECT.

"We honestly could not have asked for a better place to stay while we were visiting Costa Rica. The house is BEAUTIFUL and David and Kelly are amazing, helpful, friendly, and super chill - just all around great people. The house is on Playa Grande which is just a 10-15 minute walk down the beach from Tamarindo - so the placement of the house is perfectly between having your own, secluded little beach spot (with amazing surfing) and also being just a boat taxi away from an amazing little surf town. The perfect balance. Definitely a recommended stay. Definitely would stay again in the future. Pura vida, my friends!"

  • Wonderful house, staff and location

"Wonderful home. Spacious with plenty of room for large groups to spend together and large rooms for ours teenagers to hide away in. Great kitchen. Staff is friendly and personable. Having the option for meals to be cooked was a blessing. Not having to eat out for every meal was great. Not having the burden of planning every meal (and grocery shopping) was a blessing. Plus the meals were excellent! The pool isn't huge, but was big enough to cool off and lounge in. The beach is a 2 minute walk away. And what a great beach. Perfect for all to enjoy. The location of the house is ideal. A short water taxi (or hike if the tide is low) to Tamarindo where there are plenty of restaurants and shops. To the north are a trove of other wonderful beaches to explore as well as adventures such as ATV, zip line and snorkeling/scuba. It was so nice to be so close to everything we wanted to do, yet have our quiet retreat to return to each day. The only thing to be aware of is the last 2km of the road. Can be pretty bumpy and muddy. We were glad to have the raised 4WD. Not that we needed the 4WD but it was reassuring that we had it. This was our first trip to Costa Rica. Everyone had a great time and looks forward to returning. Would definitely consider another stay at Case de Estrella!"
