  • Wonderful Location!!! BEAUTIFUL VIEW!!!!

"Just got back from a week in Tamarindo, Costa Rica at the beautiful Diria Condo. There were two couples, and was so nice for each of us to have a master suite! Perfect Location... We could walk Tamarindo Beach, around to Playa Longusta Beach, take the boat across ($1 each way) and walk on Playa Grande Beach (be sure to take water with you and LOTS of sunscreen). The views were just beautiful from the balcony. The sunset photos I took with my cell phone on the beach were just beautiful, though pretty sunset from the balcony. The first morning that the "nature alarm clock" went off I sat up straight in the bed and screamed (and hit my husband awake). Sounded like an old furnace in a horror movie, but ran out to the balcony to see it was the howler monkeys playing in the trees and eating some type of berries off of it. There were around 5 that hung out there each morning (one with a baby that was fun to watch play). They did leave a gift of poop on our lower balcony... LOL!!!! The condo did have everything we needed... Joel even got us an ice chest before we arrived and we used it every day (the Imperial Light is close to taste of Coors Lite and the Lemon Rock is close to Bud Light Lime). Also you can get Cokes, Fanta, bottles of water, milk, etc. at the grocery store (and bags of ice). The worst thing was the 106 steps from the pool/town level, up to the top bedroom. I did thankfully prepare for the trip by going to the local hospital 3 weeks prior and started walking their stairs. Otherwise after the first day there I would not have been able to walk... LOL!!! HINT... DO IT!!! We rented a car from Dollar Car Rental (they picked us up at the airport and shuttled us to their place to pick up the car). Got a 4-wheel drive SUV. As you will read, it is true that a lot of the roads are not paved, dirt, rocks, and we were so thankful for the SUV, but never had to use the 4-wheel drive. We drove to Borinquen and did their 2-in-1 Adventure for $60. 4-wheeler ride (or horses), overlook, waterfalls, and best 12 ziplines in the world! From condo could walk to everything in town. Lots of places to eat. Even went in the casino for 30 minutes and our group won $675!!!! The beach is beautiful, but there is a riptide, so be careful! The Costa Rican people were so nice and we made some new friends who begged us to come back!!! You MUST go visit Costa Rica!!!"

  • Stunning breathtaking views! Wonderful place to stay! Highly recommended.

"Another five star rating for this house!! Truly deserved. Case Vista del Mar is a wonderful house situated up in the hills with the most stunning breathtaking views over the bay. I doubt anyone would ever get fed up with the views (the photos don't do it justice). Surrounding the property are trees and fauna attracting the wildlife, hummingbirds, butterflies, coatis etc and to sit and watch the monkeys eating the mangoes, only metres away, was like being in a nature programme. The house itself is clean, spacious and very well equipped, particularly for families or groups. The master bedroom has a huge kingsize bed with a dual aspect of views with a fantastic ensuite. We were so grateful when Kate and Will changed one of the other bedrooms to two single beds from a double as our teenage sons wouldn't have been happy sharing a double!! In fact their decision to do this made it a firm booking for us. But I think the beds can become back to being a double if needed. There is a lovely pool regularly maintained with an outside shower for rinsing the sand from the beach off. We would advise to have a car as it is a long walk to the beach and town (and uphill in the way back). The town is a 5 minute drive away with some great restaurants, supermarkets, German bakery (yum!), pharmacy, surf schools (would recommend C & C Surf School on the beach) etc. Great communication from Will and Kate throughout. All in all a great rental!! We will have wonderful memories of watching the Olympics from here too."

  • Beautiful home with pool perfect for a relaxing vacation. The beach and sunsets are amazing!!!

"We were due to arrive in Costa Rica on Thanksgiving day and unfortunately so was hurricane Otto. Thankfully Potrero suffered minimal damage. Our trip was postponed by a couple of days and Tom generously allowed us to extend our trip. Tom is very quick to either call or email you back. We couldn't be happier it all worked out!! The beautiful black sand beach is so close and we had it all to ourselves. The house was very clean and met all our needs. We saw a family of howler monkeys almost everyday. Saioa is awesome! She scheduled our rides from the airport with Eder. She also put us in touch with Justin from Wet & Wild tours. He set up all our excursions. The people are so welcoming and friendly. It was reassuring to have Omar (the night guard) keeping watch for us. We never once felt unsafe. We rented a golf cart and bikes to get around and that worked out great. We took advantage of the kayaks. The private chef made us a wonderful dinner and took care of everything. We would highly recommend staying here and plan to come back. 11-26-16 to 12-3-16"
