  • Perfect Adventure

"The place is gorgeous! Exactly like the photos. The entrance is grand and the house is huge!! It was so comfortable. I'm going to break this review down into as many sub-sections as I can so that reviewers can have an overall perspective of the property. I stayed for a week with 8 other adults. All 5 bedrooms were utilized. There are 4 in the main home, and 1 little casita (think guest house) behind the home on the property. PROS: The grandeur and the beauty was a huge plus for our group. Location was great close to beaches, on a golf course, centrally located to other towns. HOWEVER, rent a car or golf carts - depending on what you plan to do on vacation. The compund/reserve that the golf course is located on is huge, so going to the beach house, etc can be a long walk. Going off the reserve is not possible without a car. The home is in Tamrindo beach but closer to Playa Avellana, which is gorgeous and known for its surfs! Another bonus pro, the house is technically not handicap accessible; however, my friend who has limited mobility and uses a wheel chair was able to stay in one of the bedrooms on the lower level of the home, with entrance through the garage with no problems. He was able to comfortable get around the interior and exterior of the home in his chair. Royce was so easy to work with! Totally accommodating and very responsive to any questions or needs we had! CONS: It is a Caribbean location be prepared for things outside of your control, like random losses of water or power. (We can be so spoiled with life's luxuries) The home advertises as coming with house keeping everyday, but be flexible in your interpretation of that. Remember, you're in a villa, a private home, not a hotel! Keeping that theme in mind, pack all toiletries and other necessities you may need. The home had very limited selection of seasonings and condiments for food. We had to buy everything, food in Costa Rica is not cheap. But with these as the only cons, I'll take it! Already planning a return trip :)"

  • Just returned from paradise .....

"We just returned from a wonderful stay at Plumita Pacifica. If you are looking for a tourist town and glam, stay elsewhere. What you get here --- only 2 hours from the Liberia Airport --- is the most beautiful 2-mile beach to yourselves and total relaxation. If you absolutely must go to Tamarindo LOL, it is only about an hour away. The roads though ..... UGH. There are restaurants within walking distance. We highly recommend Sylvia at the neighboring Hotel Castillo Divertido for a mangrove estuary kayaking tour. She was fabulous. We also used TPV for a riverboat animal tour, lunch and stop in Guaitil, where pottery is made. The pottery was incredible. I dare you to leave without buying any! The nice thing about TPV is they pick you up and bring you home. Again ... those roads! Gary's description and photos are pretty much right on. It is a beautiful, quiet setting and most everything you need is there. Bring shampoo, soap and beach towels though, as they were not provided and stores are not close. The bed was super comfortable, but not the furniture in the main sitting area. A great shower is important at a beach place and you get two - indoor and outdoor! The wi-fi is great ---- we used it to log into work and also to watch movies. Totally reliable and a huge plus, since it got dark about 6PM. We had lots of sun and beach time and the best thunder/lightning/rain storms!! Gary is a very nice man who genuinely lost Costa Rica -- and full of great information on the local area. I would highly recommend a trip to Gary's Plumita Pacifica!"

  • A slice of heaven!

"This was my first trip to Costa Rica. As customary on our family trips we got lost on the way... from Liberia Airport to Villa Diosa del mar. Petra, the patient, warm and inviting concierge, drove a half hour to meet us to guide us to the property. GPS is a must, particularly when traveling unmarked dirt roads! Lesson learned! We arrived in the dark so we couldn't see or appreciate the full scope of the property. We woke up to a slice of heaven. It's hard to put into the words the beauty of this gem of a home and surrounding land. The attention to architectural detail, landscaping, lighting, infinity pool, furniture and art were phenomenal. Nothing was left undone. Beautiful to look at and ultra-functional for our family of eight including seven adults and a 15-year old. The property offers ample space for everyone to find their spot, and the individual casita-type rooms provide privacy and comfort. The bedrooms, all with king-size beds are air-conditioned providing a respite from the humidity and "interesting" bugs. My only suggestion to the homeowners would be to air condition the kitchen area, which would make evening dinners more comfortable and allow family members to linger longer versus rushing off to the cool comfort of the bedrooms. Petra was a godsend! She appeared within minutes whenever we called her with questions or for recommendations regarding activities or dinner reservations. She was accommodating and appropriate. Btw, upon arrival the fridge and kitchen were stocked with the grocery list we had provided her via email. She was a pleasure to communicate with prior to our trip and lovely to deal with in person. The same goes for the rest of her team including the affable housekeeper, Lara, who went out of her way to take good care of us including cooking delicious breakfasts and dinner. Big tears from me when it was time to say goodbye to heaven on earth. No doubt we will return to Villa Diosa del mar again someday. Until then... thank you for showing us the pure life! Pura vida!!"

  • Beautiful house in an amazing location

"Casa Juliana was perfect for our stay. Our group consisted of 6 adults and there was more than enough room. We spent most of our time on the screened in porch and in the pool. The kitchen had everything we needed. The dishwasher did need to be run twice for some things. The laundry area is on the property but outside of the house. It was great to hear the local animals. We could hear howler monkeys and birds everyday. The location was good as there was a small store down the driveway as well as another store 5 min away. Lochitos was our favorite local nearby restaurant which is 10 min walking distance. Casa Juliana was the perfect place for our first visit to Costa Rica! We wouldn't hesitate to book it again!"
