  • Beautiful House!

"Our family of 5 recently stayed at Casa Amarosa over the holiday and enjoyed our stay very much. Overall, it was a great place to unwind after the days activities. The entire community of Palm Beach Estates is a cool little place and has lots of restaurants to choose from for such a small area. There are a few supermarkets (WilMart) which made it easy to stock the fridge. Casa Amarosa is the first house as you enter this community - it backs up to the estuary. To get to the beach, it's about a 10min walk on dirt roads. Doable, but not right out your backdoor. We had family staying on the beach (at Casa Campbell) and we found ourselves driving there most days. A few things we liked most about Casa Amarosa: - The master bedroom/suite was awesome, it's the entire 2nd floor - with A/C! - The porch was the perfect place to drink your morning coffee - The house is decorated nicely - beautiful wood throughout - Manfred, the house manager who lives next door, bakes awesome bread, croissants & other goodies. Delivered fresh & warm - that was such a treat! Further, he was very responsive to any questions/needs we had. - The kids loved the hammock on the porch - The living area was roomy for all of us Overall, I would recommend this property. The owner, Nina, was very responsive to my questions, Manfred next door was great. It's a beautiful house with lots of room to relax!"

  • Amazing Experience

"The greatest comment resides in our eagerness to book again for another excursion in Costa Rica. We had an amazing time. Five stars for the accommodations and five stars for the level of service. My wife planned her brother’s destination wedding in Costa Rica and this house was the venue. As great as an ocean/beach wedding would be, the house was better as the backdrop and also served us well for the entire week. Roughly twenty people stayed there comfortably with guests arriving and leaving at different times. The house has private suites within and was very roomy. The place was clean and well maintained. It was located minutes from the beach that is tucked away from all the public crowds as found in Tamarindo. The house is also closely situation to the JW Marriott which provides some excellent dining options for eating out. Wifi was reliable and located in every room and never had a problem connecting. It was perfect even down to the small family of harmless iguanas that lived in the landscaped portion of the property. As great as the accommodations were, something needs to be said for the personal service that Eugene and Mariela provided. Hosting a wedding, we had several unique requests that we required assistance with. The wedding, the entire week and the lack of issues are a credit to their assistance. The wedding and the days leading up and afterwards were all made possible because of their hard efforts to accommodate us and our special needs. Eugene and Mariela went above and beyond and were completely professional and pleasant to work with. We cannot thank them enough. We now look forward to scheduling the next family and friends trip to Costa Rica without any hesitation on where we plan to stay."

  • Beautiful house, great location

"We spent 9 days in casa Amarilla and had a fabulous time. The house was exactly as advertised and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the living/kitchen area was actually more spacious than it appeared in the photos. The outdoor space was amazing and we were able to walk to the beach and restaurants. Marco was lovely and planned several excursions for us as well as made arrangements for Veronica to cook for us. She was amazing and I would highly recommend her services. We choose to do the food shopping ourselves but I did take a considerable amount of time and next time I will gladly pay the fee to have someone shop for the groceries. Overall a wonderful experience and we hope to return next year."

  • Wonderful stay at Playa Potrero

"We had a wonderful stay here. The location and amenities were perfect. And if you are looking for a change of scenery, there are other great beaches nearby such as Playa Conchal and Playa Azucar. We found plenty of places to eat. Our favorite, by far, was The Shack. We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner there. The Beach House and Marco Polo were close seconds. The Smokin' Pig was pretty good too. The restaurant at Bahia del Sol was awful (and expensive), but it was the only place open on Christmas Day. The MerKdo Supermarket was the best place for groceries, and it's an easy walk. We had plenty of pots, pans, and utensils to cook and sufficient dishes and plates to feed our family of four. A nearby amenity that really adds value to this location is the Costa Rica Sailing Center. It's an easy walk down the beach. They have a wide variety of sailboats for rent, a pool, and a restaurant. The folks who work there are super friendly and helpful. My son and I took one of their Hobie Cats out into the bay and had a great time. We went back on Christmas Eve for a special dinner. The food was delicious, the music was great, and it was probably our favorite night. Randall met us at the property when we arrived. He was courteous and friendly. We had a minor plumbing problem while we were there and he responded to our text right away. The WIFI gave out on day 6 and never recovered, which was frustrating, but it didn't affect our stay. The interior of the condo is not spectacular. I'd call it Beach Cottage Basic. But the layout worked well for our family and the view from the expansive porch is just beautiful. Plus, you can hear the waves crashing from anywhere in the place which is awesome--there's no question you are at the beach! One word of warning: Google Maps gives you a route that includes route 911, aka, Monkey Trail. This is unpaved, involves two river crossings (no bridge--it's literally through the river), and steep inclines with loose gravel. Our rental car agency "ran out" of 4-wheel drive vehicles despite our reservation, which is apparently a common occurrence during the high season. Luckily our little front-wheel drive car made it, but we were later told had we been a week earlier, we would not have. Moral of the story, if you don't have a capable vehicle, go "the long way" to Potrero through Filadelfia and Huacas. You will save time, headaches, and stress. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and we hope to go there again!"
