"Excellent accomodations. We rented all three units as part of a large group 6 adults, 5 children. Our family stayed in the main unit. Arriving late we were greeted by our host with orientation and welcome nonetheless. Very clean, comfortable, great view of the ocean/sunset from the upper balcony. Bird and monkey show every morning and a short walk down to the beach with a board every day. Our host was always available if we needed anything or with helpful advice. The kitchen is functional and user friendly with a blender for smoothies. Everything you need is within walking distance including minimart, restaurants, beach, surfshops. This is a great place to stay and I would definitely return."

  • Pura Vida discovered!

"If you aren't particular about the brand of chocolate, on your turned down pillow, and you want to know where to find the "real" Costa Rica, Casa Boaz is the place. We spent a week there, during rainy season, and discovered something new every day, thanks to the amazing host/owner, Andy. Although nestled in a quiet, off the main road location, Casa Boaz was easy to find. We discovered a beautiful, private, boutique hotel, immaculately maintained, and perfect for our small family, of three. Our seven year old daughter loved the pool! No cookie cutter hotel rooms here, each "casa" has its own distinct ambiance, and charms. We had more than enough room for the three of us, in our one-bedroom condo, and had our own fully equipped kitchen, AC, fans, hot water, and all the necessities. We liked the feeling of being "out of town", but just steps from the action, in Tamarindo. The hotel is a fantastic facility, and very comfortable, but only a small part of what makes Casa Boaz, the best place to stay in Tamarindo. The owner, Andy, was amazing, he was a big reason we were able to enjoy far more, than we would have, staying in a generic resort. Andy's bio says he spent a long time in Vail, CO, where he certainly learned what "World Class" service means. He's surfed every inch of every beach in the area, and guided us to places we would never have discovered without a "local's" knowledge. We were lucky that he had the time to really help us discover a lot of the country, outside of Tamarindo (we spend three weeks in CR, and followed his guidance to the letter, it was perfect). We hired him to teach our daughter to surf, and he had her riding waves in minutes. He was able to teach me, how to help her get going on the waves, and she can't wait to go again (but only after ski season is over in Bozeman)! The best part of Casa Boaz was the food! I grew up in Chicago, I am a deep dish guy to my soul, but Andy's New York style thin cheese pizza, rivals any thick crust sausage patty pizza, from Lou Malnotti's, I have ever had. Simply amazing, and worth the trip, if you are a true pizza aficionado! We also were privileged to get Andy to cook for us. We bought the ingredients, he knew where to get the best stuff, the beer, and wine; and were treated to a couple of the best meals we had during our entire trip. Staying at Casa Boaz was the best move we made, during our trip, and the vacation would not have been as incredible without a stop at Andy's place."

  • Birthday family trip

"The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the house was not quite as well kept as in the pictures. Although the house is still beautiful, it seems in need of a little maintenance, mostly on the outside. I do, however, want to praise and compliment the concierge manager and chef! Both were very welcoming, accommodating with excellent service and manners. Fabrice, the concierge manager, was waiting at the house upon on our arrival and continued to connect with us throughout the week to ensure we had everything we needed and were set for our activities. He even handled a potential problem quickly and calmly. It was so refreshing to know he was just a call away, if we needed anything at all. Camille and Pascal, the chefs, were also wonderful and the food was delicious! They even made a beautiful cake for my daughter's birthday. I highly recommend hiring them for a meal or two while your stay at Wood Box."

  • Pristine Grounds in an Excellent Location

"Within an hour of the volcanoes, not many tourists around. Beautiful estate, nice pool (brisk and refreshing). The cottage was of European quality/standards, great woodworking inside. A great place to cook and relax. We saw Toucans! No mosquitos. Maria was very helpful and had a lot of good advice. We would definitely stay here again."
