"We loved the location. Having a house right on the beach is fabulous. There are so many things to do in the immediate vicinity, and a dozen restaurants all in walking distance, we didn't bother renting a car for the whole 3 weeks we were there."

  • Memories made! Hope to return soon.

"Great fortune became ours as we were referred to and stayed in this beautiful home. Our group of 10 consisted of 2 families (children’s ages 4-16). The home is modern with fun Costa Rican style/details. It is oceanfront, clean, air conditioned, and comfortable with beautiful views of the ocean and tropical gardens surrounding it! All ages enjoyed the beach and grounds. It was a delight to watch our 4 year olds play tirelessly in the terraced patio area and beachfront yard (oh, and they also danced and sang with vigor in the outdoor shower), while the teens enjoyed boogie boarding and learning to surf. The adults adventured via sea kayak (kayak provided) and explored the coast. We were showered with hospitality and incredible service prior to and throughout our stay. The owners promptly and continually answered questions in advance as we prepared to travel. Martin (caretaker) greeted us upon arrival and was available daily as he tidied up the grounds. Carmen (housekeeper) was a delight as she cheerfully and carefully cleaned the home. Babe, the property manager, was an incredible and invaluable resource! She kept regular contact with us (prior to and during our stay) and even made a visit to the home to meet us. She is knowledgeable and connected with the community and local tourism. She coordinated an in-home hair braid/wrap for our teen daughter, an in-home massage, and arranged our Sunset Cruise on the Lazy Lizard, and answered innumerable questions promptly. I cannot say enough about the owners, property manager and staff. They made it a great and memorable first visit to Costa Rica! We’d definitely recommend this property to have the comforts of home while experiencing the local culture that surrounds."

  • Enjoyable and Relaxing

"We truly enjoyed our stay at El Destino. We had two families with three kids and there was plenty of room for everyone. The penthouse was well maintained, clean and had all the necessary amenities. Even though we stayed during Cost Rica's busy Easter holiday week, the beach was still pretty much ours, quite and relaxing. The grounds were well maintained, the pool was wonderful and the beach with its breath taking sunset were gorgeous. The beach had some nice waves to do some body surfing or boogie boarding, yet shallow enough that we didn't need to worry about the kids at all. There were a number of very good restaurants and a grocery store within a short walk, so we didn't feel a need to rent a car. The owners and the property management were wonderful to work with on excursions and there are plenty to choose from. The owners had a great book on excursions, restaurants, and other to do's in the area, which was great. We spent the majority of our time either on the beach or pool relaxing. No issues with security or not feeling safe during our entire trip. This was our first VRBO and definitely something we'll do again."

  • Awesome place and hosts

"This was our first visit to Costa Rica. We chose to rent Mike & Irma's penthouse and could not have made a better decision!! We enjoyed the amazing view from our balcony, the delicious beach view breakfast and the conversations we had with the hosts. This unit is centrally located to many nice beaches. We rented a car which was very convenient because we drove to many of the beaches in the Guanacaste Area and had a great time (Flamingo, Brasilito, Conchal (our favorite), Penca, Pan de Azucar and Tamarindo). Mike and Irma recommended the Hacienda Guachipelin one day adventure pass. If you are up for an adventure this is a Must!!! The drive is approximately 1 1/2 hours. We had the most amazing and adventurous day there (very well worth the drive). The activities included river tubing, zip-lining, horse back riding and hot springs. Mike is very knowledgeable of the area and can provide recommendations based on your interests. We had and amazing time at Mike& Irma’s. They are very hospitable hosts and strive to make your visit memorable. You will not regret staying here. Pura Vida!!!"
