  • Beautiful Home and Incredible View

"Just spent a week in Casa Catalina and it is one of the most incredible, beautiful homes that I have ever rented for a vacation. The views are unparalleled and really spectacular. The home itself is spacious and inviting. The infinity edge pool is the place to be! The onsite staff of Miguel and Manuela made sure you were kept safe and that the home was always in perfect condition. Breakfast is provided complimentary on your first morning and Lacey, the guard dog, was a real sweetheart. We vacationed with our niece and nephew (first trip to Costa Rica) and my sister-in-law and we were anxious to share many of Costa Rica experiences, favorite activities, and tours with them but they literally didn't want to leave the house! The road to the house is quite steep as it is with many of the homes in the area, but when you arrive you are rewarded with the most incredible views. In addition to the Living Room television, all of the bedrooms each have their own television with cable. I was even able to watch American football on Sunday. We also enjoyed the great sunsets on the Pacific ocean, the family of Howler monkeys in the trees right across from our front door, the iguanas feasting in the nearby bushes and scurrying across the yard, and a menagerie of birds. The home is absolutely perfect for several couples, a family, or a group of friends. Hans, the property manager, is a real delight and very helpful in greeting you upon arrival and giving you a tour of the home and property. He is always there to answer a call if you have any questions. It is possible to walk down the hill to town; I ventured out every morning to get some fresh baked goodies at the bakery at the bottom of the hill. The walk back up the hill is fine if you are looking for some exercise! Although not required, if you are renting a vehicle I do recommend a 4 wheel drive. We have been vacationing in Costa Rica for over 20 years and I must say that the road conditions have drastically improved in many areas. Views of Playa Grande and the Estuary are the absolute best form the pool area and you also have great views of Tamarindo beach on the deck with the outdoor bed on the front side of the house. Great place to relax on the outdoor bed and enjoy your coffee in the morning with the sunrise or in the evening with the sunset! Casa Catalina is the the best!!!"

  • Loved the condo.

"This condo was perfect for us! There were four of us, my husband and two grown kids (18 and 21). Although we did not spend much time in the condo, there was plenty of room and privacy. Having a washer/dryer is a dream, we could have packed way less than we did. The kitchen is wonderful, very clean, and while we did not cook we had coffee and breakfast items, which saved a little hassle and money. We booked a couple of trips through the hotel (zip lining and river cruise). Definitely take a look at the guest book, you will get lots of ideas where to go. Our favorites were Green Papaya, Dragonfly and Seasons. We took a trip to Playa Avellana and ate at Lola's -- great food there, and beautiful beach. Make sure you check hours and payment before going to some places -- Lola's was not open for dinner, Season's doesn't take credit cards, Green Papaya is closed on Mondays. As someone said the WIFI isn't too strong but it is available and you don't really want to be online too much. We saw lots of monkeys on the property and off, and parrots in the early morning (off the property). Neil (the owner) and Katia (from the property management company) were very helpful and responsive."

  • Vacationing in Costa Rica was a trip of a life time! Specically, Playa Conchal , Guanacaste!

"We were a family of 6 adults visiting Playa Conchal during the wet season and lived very comfortably in this beautiful, clean 3 bedroom condo. The cozy furniture was very accommodating for us including VERY comfortable beds. The spacious kitchen was well stocked with the necessary cooking utensils including a breakfast bar. The spacious balcony provided us with views of the gorgeous golf course, ocean bay and hilly landscape. The condo with free wifi, sits high on a hill a few miles from the beach but easily attainable by calling the office for a shuttle. Every driver was so friendly sharing interesting facts of the local culture, plant and animal life, being very accommodating to stop the shuttle for snapshots of the howler monkeys, iguanas, views of the bay, or beautiful trees/flowers which painted the path to the beach. Your drop off point was in front of the beach club which boarders the fairly secluded beautiful beach. The beach club provided you with locker/shower rooms, a spa and workout facility, 2 pools and the outdoor eloquent yet causal restaurant, our go to place when making it a day at the beach (gourmet meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, very reasonably priced) and an upstairs bar overlooking the treetops and ocean bay. The weather was ideal the wk we stayed as it was usually sunny and in the mid 80s during the day (storms at late afternoons) being ideal for basking in the sun on nice lounge chairs, taking walks on the sandy beach, swimming in the translucent turquoise water, kayaking, and paddle boarding all of which are provided through the beach club. While on the beach one has access to massages given for $20.00 an hr under the shade of the trees. A must have if you enjoy massages!! This lovely condo unit also has access to a secluded small pool, patio area and barbecue for a more quiet setting . I highly recommend hiring a driver. We had Dee (Ditier)recommended by our condo's owner, Tom. Dee, a very polite English speaking man who has obvious pride in his country and people, was so accommodating to our needs, desires with great suggestions. I pay tribute to Tom, a fantastic man who helped in planning out our trip. Tom was so easily accessible via email and by phone. He was informative and gave us a preview of what we may expect via pictures sent to us. What to bring: wash machine detergent, deet, day pack for daily outings, causual clothes with hiking footwear, USA currency excepted everywhere. Tap water very safe to drink!"

  • Awesome Access, BEAUTIFUL property, all the amenities and more than home!

"Traveling to Costa Rica for the first time with extended family -- kiddo and grandparents. Rich opened up his home to us, and it was fabulous! I dropped the ball upon arrival in terms of coordinating keys, but reached out to Rich, and within 10 minutes a set were delivered to get us in! Saved me from the scowls. After that, everything was blissful. The home is beautiful and has everything we needed. We were so close to all the restaurants, bars, day and nightlife of Tamarindo. We could walk through the neighborhood to get to Playa Langosta to surf. Incredible stay, and would love to visit his place again soon! Thanks, Rich!"
