  • Perfect place to stay very close to the beach.

"This was my fourth stay and I have booked again. The location is perfect and Patrick, the manager and staff, work hard to provide the best experience possible. The view of the beach, which is a short walk from the property is amazing, with a sunrise to begin the day. The convenience to stores, restaurants and anything else you need is great. The property itself is clean, and carefully kept that way. It is quiet and just far enough from the main part of town. There are many varieties of birds and animals nearby and the nearly daily parade of monkeys in the nearby trees is wonderful! I was there for 7 weeks this year, and met the other guests who agreed that this was the place to stay in Sámara. Several already had plans to return. Being able to return from the beach, take a dip in the pool, and relax outside, or retreat to the cool comfotable rooms for a siesta is so nice. The full kitchen makes it easy to have breakfast on your patio in the morning, and watch paridise wake up. I also like the covered garage with secure parking for your bike or car. If you have never visited Costa Rica and want a vacation you will never forget, Alta Vista will not dissapoint. Pura Vida"

  • What a great home

"Three couples stayed in the home last week. We had a great time. The beds are super comfortable, everything was really clean and had pretty much everything we needed. The housekeeper, Roxy, was super sweet and it was so nice to have someone make our beds for us. We didn't expect it, but it was nice none the less. Originally we didn't invest in the air conditioner for the larger part of the house, but decided the second day in it was worth it. The bedrooms were quite comfortable and when we discovered one of the rooms was not working, they came out right away to fix it. There is not a lot to do in Samara, so we spent most of our time hanging by the pool and walking to the beach to see the beautiful sunset. Because we were a large group, we did not take advantage of the kayaks in the garage, but would have it if had been just two of us. I can't think of a thing to improve on here. Since we are kind of new to renting VBRO's, we should have stocked up on some basics (toilet paper) for our stay, but managed to not have a problem with what was provided until we could get to the store. This is a great home. Paul was really quick on replying as was his property management team. I highly recommend a relaxing week at this beautiful home."

  • Katia and Steve's place in Santa Teresa

"I stayed at Katia and Steve's place for 3 nights in February which turned out to be the hottest time of the year and it was extremely hot and dry. Unfortunately the pool was not as close to the villa as it appeared in the photos and it was a bit of a walk up the hill - but well worth the effort once there! The pool area is very beautiful and has a lovely deck area under a tree for shade with very comfortable chairs together with towels provided. The house is extremely well equipped and an exacting amount of detail all around. One thing though is that we were 7 in total and it really only sleeps 6 adults as the sofa in the lounge area is not a bed. Katia and Steve were great and very friendly and helpful - we enjoyed our stay !"

  • Beautiful home - surrounded by nature, yet close to amenities.

"Our family stayed in this beautiful home and we were so pleased to be there. Our positive experience began with friendly and informative advice from the owner and continued with a happy and accommodating property manager. The house is really nice. We loved the relaxed and pleasing decor. The entire home is bright and soothing and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location is great - just a few minutes out of town (a car is necessary). We enjoyed lounging on the patio, feeling the breeze and admiring the iguanas and hummingbirds. The pool is perfect for a cool dip. We felt we were surrounded by nature, yet we weren't secluded or remote. Loved the shower in the master bath and the bidet! The only thing to note is that the WiFi is unreliable and you should expect interruptions. I heard this is a general problem in Samara (although our experience with internet access in nearby coastal communities was completely reliable - so I'm not sure why Samara has issues). The town of Samara and this home were the highlight of our trip - Highly recommended!"
