  • Wonderfully relaxing....

"This vacation rental was fabulous. To start with the house- it was a two story cottage. First floor with two twin beds and a small kitchen (dorm fridge, hot plate and french press for coffee). Second floor has the master bedroom with a full bathroom. It must be mentioned that with open windows the airflow at night is unbelievable- so well designed! No AC needed- just that nice salty air flowing! The property itself it gorgeously manicured with two hammocks to enjoy an afternoon nap. And the best part- this home is directly ocean front. Walk right down a path from the lawn to enjoy the black sand beach. We enjoyed walks on the beach (we walked up to 10miles one day). And the beaches are very secluded and quiet. There are two restaurants that are able to be accessed by the beach. The first was Loco Coco- excellent ceviche and the coldest Imperial ever! The second was a longer walk down the beach which is owned by a lovely German couple (El Barco- I think). The food there was excellent- wish we found it earlier in our trip! There are many activities available in the area to enjoy (fishing, surfing, and many other activities) but we opted for coffee on the patio, walks on the beach, naps in the hammock with a cold Imperial, and enjoying beautiful sunsets each night. This is not a party town (as there is no town), there is no night life and there is very little occurring during the day (unless you book in advance). We enjoyed Domingas breakfast each morning- it was so good and filling. We opted for the rice and beans, eggs, fresh fruit, juice and a pot of coffee. Everyone that works on this property were very nice and friendly. I must say when I originally booked this property I was extremely impressed with Miguels professional nature and responsiveness to emails. There was a bit of anxiety over carrying the necessary amount of cash to pay the final amount of the rental. I wish that final payment was completed differently. This is a beautiful property and I would highly recommend it. Costa Rica is always an adventure- and we can't wait to return!!"

  • Awesome Punta Dakota

"This is a beautiful, well maintained luxury villa with an awesome infinity pool. The concierge services were wonderful. The ocean is less than 1/2 mile away and the surroundings are breathtaking. Definitely want to visit again!"

  • Absolute Heaven

"The stars reflected like little lights in the smooth sheets of water that washed up on the beach in front of the house the evening we arrived. That is when I knew we were in for something special staying at Sand Dollar Cove. We were given exacting instructions on how to get there. The roads were easy to navigate and were in good condition, though the trek is not for the feint of heart. We wanted to get away from it all and enjoy time with family and friends in a setting ripe for adventure and SDC was the perfect fit for us. Our party included four adults and six children, four of whom were teenagers. We spent our days reading in the hammocks (great collection of books at the house - thanks!), sitting on the spacious porch overlooking the beach, boogie boarding, playing in the waves and riding the bike along the beach all the way to the estuary. In San Francisco de Coyote, we discovered a bakery and got to know the local grocer; he made us special drinks & helped us find food for all those teenagers. Pat (the manager) made sure we had all we needed and helped arrange to do a kayak trip through the mangroves. She had great recommendations for restaurants that were a short drive away. Cheo (the caretaker) brought us fresh eggs every morning, made pinto gallo & fresh tortillas for us, fried up fresh fish and made enough arroz con pollo that we actually had leftovers! (no small feat with a house full of teenagers) Cheo's son took the kids fishing one morning and Cheo made a bonfire for us on the beach. The howling monkeys woke us in the morning and we quickly adapted to the local habit of going to bed with the sun. By week's end, we felt like locals and could have stayed forever."

  • WOW - Amazing and Breathtaking Indeed!!

"We have stayed in VRBOs and Airbnbs all over the world and by far this property was perhaps the best and exceeded all expectations. While nothing is 'perfect', Casa Luz de Luna was as near perfect as could be with the amazing view, infinity pool, outdoor setting, clean accommodations, private bedroom and bath, etc. Soraya and Carla were beyond gracious and helpful. Everything stated in the listening is accurate and then some - this is truly a special place and we cannot recommend it enough!! Thank you for making our stay at your wonderful place the highlight of our Costa Rican getaway!!"
