  • The perfect sunny getaway

"Having never been to Costa Rica before, we weren't sure what to expect when we decided to fly down for our February trip. After we spoke with our hosts Todd and Pam, we were quickly convinced that we were making the right decision, both in our choice of locale as well as the condo itself! We wanted a place that was close enough to the airport that it didn't feel like a long drive (this one is within 1hr 15mins of Liberia), but also removed from the hustle and bustle of busy tourist spots. This location met all our needs! The condo itself is an oasis of calm, located in a small community with its own bar and restaurant, so you are only about 2 minutes away from great food, drink, and conversation. There are small, charming villages nearby where you can stock up on supplies. There are *amazing* beaches within 1hr both north and south of the condo, but our favorite was only 10 minutes down the road (Playa Minas). We are still dreaming of that beach! No one there, plenty of trees and shade to enjoy, and the water in the cove is the perfect temperature (as was the breeze). As for our condo experience, the process was seamless from the instant we booked. The owners were in touch to ensure we had all the information we needed, offered a lot of amazing suggestions on where to go and what to see on our trip, and put us in touch with their local manager Walner. He and his associates were so welcoming! They met us perfectly on time immediately as we got into town and took us to the condo and showed us around. The condo was even BETTER than we were expecting. You walk in to a nice cool tiled space with a good sized kitchen and full fridge (with washer and dryer--great for families with laundry!). To the left when you walk in is the "guest" room with the queen bed and the bunk beds--it seems like it would be cramped but it isn't at all. The living area has great seating, and a dining table that we loved (but have to admit, we didn't use as much as we would have liked as we enjoyed using the kitchen breakfast bar area and *especially* taking our food and drink out onto the patio where we could enjoy the views). The master bedroom and the living spaces are really the best part of the condo--both have sliding glass doors that make up the entire wall so you can open them and it is like the condo is in the mountains itself with an amazing view of the ocean, Playa Conchal and Brasilito. Home away from home. We cannot wait to rent again."

  • really appreciated

"Very clean and comfortable; very well located near the beach, shops, grocery and village. Security is also something that we appreciated as there is somebody near the locked gate"

  • A memorable stay

"We enjoyed everything about our stay at this B&B: a spacious and functional room with a magnificent view of the ocean (even from the shower!), delicious hearty breakfasts with local treats, and an unbeatable location: right on the beach. The hosts - Mike and Irma - know and love Playa Potrero, its vicinity, and Costa Rica in general. They provided us with good suggestions about what to see and do in the area. We'd definitely recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in a beautiful and uncrowded location."

  • Great location for access to beach

"Stayed in one of the one bedroom units, and our daughter, husband and two small children in the 2 bedroom apartment upstairs, for a month. Not luxurious but definitely adequate. The bedrooms have large comfortable beds, and the bathrooms large showers. The bathroom in the one bedroom unit is a bit awkward. When you try to leave the door open it cuts off the access to the sink and mirror. The kitchen is a tight squeeze when all 6 of us sat together at the small table...And counter space is very limited. But we often used the BBQ downstairs and ate at the tables at the beach club. The washer and dryer are downstairs and are the ones used by cleaning staff, so no access after 6:00 PM. The pool is great, warm and inviting. The pool is used by diving staff to give lessons so sometimes busy. Also the club is used by Coco Bay Estate's, so sometimes the lounge chairs are all occupied. But usually by late afternoon we had the pool to ourselves. The beach is very close, an easy walk even for our two year old grandson. Good snorkeling right from the beach. The staff is outstanding. Thank you, Neri and Mike. All questions and concerns were addressed promptly and kindly. They made us feel like family. Housekeeping was provided three times a week, with towels and sheets changed. So we did not have to launder those ourselves. And beach towels were provided by the Club. Our cleaning lady was wonderful. Very thorough and kind. Worked around the nap times of our little guys. We also had access to the Coco Bay Estate's pool and fitness center, about 2.5 km away. Great pool and gave the little ones another place to play... Water slide! Fitness room was great, and showers as well. The only negatives are that there is no "living room". There is only a small couch right next to the kitchen table, in the apartment. But there is a nice balcony at the back and the front of the unit. And we often sat on the couches at the Club. Internet seemed to drop every afternoon at the Club....Dont really know why, because it was usually pretty steady in the units. A good place for a young family to stay, with easy access to beach and pool."
