  • Beautiful House - Detailed review including the positives and negatives of the property

"We spent the summer in this house and know it quite well! It's very safe here and despite prior comments it is in a fully enclosed gated neighborhood except for one path to the beach (i've walked it many times). It is also patrolled by security 24 hours. The house itself is really beautiful we stayed here with a 5 and 7 year old and it is well equipped for cooking and entertaining. There are 2 tvs one in the master bedroom, one in the living room. The living room has a DVD and Blu-Ray Combo. It also has a surround sound system that i never could get to work however i only spent 10 minutes trying. There is a stackable front load washer dryer system that worked well for us. The pool in the backyard is great as mentioned in a prior post it doesn't have full sun. Although it gets a good bit of sun throughout the day and with the heat here you don't really need direct sun. The house is also filled with some great books (i've read a lot of them). Also on the first floor is a 1/2 bathroom. There's a winding tile staircase to the second floor with the 2 bedrooms. Both of the bathrooms are showers (no tub) They are also partially outside so you must keep the door to the shower and also the door to the bedroom closed at all times. However, we loved the outdoor shower it's really nice to listen to the birds and the sounds of the tropics while you shower. We did not have a car while we were here and walked to town or the beach club everyday. You can walk along the beach by cutting through the back of the neighborhood or you can walk out the front and take a dirt road to town. We commonly walked out to the road and then cut through Capitan Suizo to the beach this is a little easier and gets you into town in about 15 minutes. The internet in the house is slow compared to the USA but pretty standard for Costa Rica. We are able to use Skype and stream media with one device at a time. The negatives are that the A/C doesn't work very well. There are 3 compressors in 3 zones. One for downstairs and 2 for the bedrooms upstairs. The downstairs A/C will work for about 3 or 4 hours set at 78 degrees and then it will freeze up. The kids bedroom only works for about 2 hours before freezing up and the master bedroom works for most of the night without freezing up as long as you remember to turn it off during the day. The other downfall is that the house is not sealed up well, so there are a few harmless creatures wandering in and out mostly geckos and ants."

  • Time Slowz Down!!!

"Bob Wilson and his team at Langosta Beach Club Condo's, provide wonderful care and attention from the moment you arrive until your departure. The rooms are wonderful and well taken care of! The location across from the beach is perfect! We spent our days by the pool and beach, enjoying food/beverage, wonderful service, and time just slowed way down! ( I don't know how they do it in Tamarido, but it actually felt like the days and nights just took their time which made the whole experience that much more enjoyable! The location is far enough from the town to be peaceful and semi-private, but close enough for walking to clubs, restaurants or the local grocery store. The staff are very, very helpful and always with a smile! The rooms have many balcony locations to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and there is a great kitchen if you wish to prepare any meals there yourself. I would recommend to anyone who was looking for a great place to stay while in Tamarindo!"

  • One of the best Vactions ever

"My family of 8 visited Costa Rica in July 2016 and stayed at Casa Marbella. It is a beautiful, spacious house and well-appointed. The beds were great and I slept like a baby. Plenty of restrooms for my wife and three daughters. There are two masters with huge bathrooms. Our large family never felt cramped. Overall a great house to spend your vacation. I was anticipating the house being located more in the jungle but it is actually in a subdivision and you had to go through 2 guard gates. Although the backyard does have some trees and vegetation it was not as dense as I thought it would be. We did see the fruit bats that camped each day on the front porch awning. Also saw a tarantula. Neither the bats nor the tarantula paid us any attention and I thought it was actually a cool experience. Didn't see any monkeys at the house. The pool was a lot of fun but we only used it 3 or 4 times and never for any length of time. It is a bit narrower than the pictures looked to me. But we spent a lot of time at Playa Avellana and the Beach Club. Playa Avellana is so sandy and soft. The Beach Club beach is a bit rocky and I stumped my toes a few times under water. The Beach Club and Playa Avellana are about a five minute walk from each other. The water temperature is enjoyable and when I had enough of the ocean, I never really got too hot sitting on the beach either. Maybe that explains why we were at the beach for almost 10 hours one day. We loved the beaches. Sunsets are beautiful. I recommend eating at Lola's at Playa Avellana also. Sooo good. We ate at home most nights and the kitchen was more than adequate. Food prices are bit expensive, more than the US I thought. But it is a tourist area. The golf cart came in handy when going to the JW Marriott and the Beach Club. I'm also a runner so running inside the property was no problem and I found some cool routes. All in all, this house is great. A cell phone was provided which was a nice touch. Cyn, the property manager, was great and booked a lot of excursions for us and plugged the routes into the phone so we wouldn't get lost. I highly recommend Pura Aventura for ziplines. We also went scuba diving at Catalina Island and saw 3 bull sharks and a group of manta rays. What a great thrill. We used Aqua Rica and Billy was great to dive with but they did have to reschedule us. Small inconvenience. But if you visit Costa Rica, be aware the roads are really bad. Recommend a SUV is you rent a car."

  • We will be back!

"Loved the week we just spent at this property! We could not have asked for more. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. We loved the privacy of three ensuite bedrooms and the open floor plan that afforded space for all. The pool in the complex was amazing and our own private dipping pool only added to the experience. We would not hesitate to recommend this unit to anyone and hopefully will make this an annual event!"
