  • Beautiful Home and Incredible View

"Just spent a week in Casa Catalina and it is one of the most incredible, beautiful homes that I have ever rented for a vacation. The views are unparalleled and really spectacular. The home itself is spacious and inviting. The infinity edge pool is the place to be! The onsite staff of Miguel and Manuela made sure you were kept safe and that the home was always in perfect condition. Breakfast is provided complimentary on your first morning and Lacey, the guard dog, was a real sweetheart. We vacationed with our niece and nephew (first trip to Costa Rica) and my sister-in-law and we were anxious to share many of Costa Rica experiences, favorite activities, and tours with them but they literally didn't want to leave the house! The road to the house is quite steep as it is with many of the homes in the area, but when you arrive you are rewarded with the most incredible views. In addition to the Living Room television, all of the bedrooms each have their own television with cable. I was even able to watch American football on Sunday. We also enjoyed the great sunsets on the Pacific ocean, the family of Howler monkeys in the trees right across from our front door, the iguanas feasting in the nearby bushes and scurrying across the yard, and a menagerie of birds. The home is absolutely perfect for several couples, a family, or a group of friends. Hans, the property manager, is a real delight and very helpful in greeting you upon arrival and giving you a tour of the home and property. He is always there to answer a call if you have any questions. It is possible to walk down the hill to town; I ventured out every morning to get some fresh baked goodies at the bakery at the bottom of the hill. The walk back up the hill is fine if you are looking for some exercise! Although not required, if you are renting a vehicle I do recommend a 4 wheel drive. We have been vacationing in Costa Rica for over 20 years and I must say that the road conditions have drastically improved in many areas. Views of Playa Grande and the Estuary are the absolute best form the pool area and you also have great views of Tamarindo beach on the deck with the outdoor bed on the front side of the house. Great place to relax on the outdoor bed and enjoy your coffee in the morning with the sunrise or in the evening with the sunset! Casa Catalina is the the best!!!"

  • I WISH I COULD STAY HERE FOREVER!

"This is my 2nd time staying at this beautiful property. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else! When we saw that Southwest Airlines was now offering low airfares from LAX to Liberia we jumped on it. This visit was with my daughter and her family. This house was perfect for us. We each had our own master suite (there are 3 of them) and did not use the 4th bedroom. The town is so close that my daughter and her husband were able to walk to town to enjoy the night life while I stayed at the house with the little one. No designated driver needed! We rented a car but found we hardly used it because the town of Tamarindo has so much to offer...great beachfront restaurants, good shopping, awesome beach, etc. The private swimming pool was awesome to have. We spent so much time in it, even while it was raining. This property is so secure that we all just left our laptops & valuables laying around when we were gone. There is a 24 hour guard on duty so you never have to worry about your safety. The 2 car garage was a big plus. The maids and pool man come every day to clean the house and pool. The pool guy quietly shows up around 6:45 in the morning and you never know he is there. If you are thinking about a trip to Costa Rica I would highly recommend Tamarindo. You will not regret your stay at Casa Del Rey!"

  • Wonderful vacation!

"From the moment we contacted the owner regarding our vacation up until check out, we were impressed. The house was just as described and fit 9 of us comfortably (2 families = 4 adults and 5 children). The house was perfectly located in Hacienda Pinilla with access to the JW Marriott as well as the hacienda pinilla beach club. Cynthia was very accommodating and helped us with dinner reservations as well as setting up activities. Would highly recommend Pangas and Green Papaya to eat, both located in Tamarindo. The highlight of the trip was taking surf lessons with Rafa. Also, the housekeeper was a wonderful addition as she cooked authentic Costa Rican food and cleaned during our stay. We did pay to rent the golf cart, but found that we used our rental cars instead."

  • Very clean and comfortable condo in Tamarindo!

"We really enjoyed staying at Tamarindo Azul in January 2016. The condo has two large bedrooms with king beds, one bedroom has an attached full bathroom and the other can easily use the full bathroom that is the next door to it in the hall. It was nice being on the top floor of the building, as the view is great and the ceilings are vaulted. We didn't mind the walk to town/beach, which is approximately 1-1.5km, depending on where you're going in town. There are a couple hills on the way back up to the condo, but you can also easily grab a cab for a few bucks on the way back up from town. Every cab knew right where "Tamarindo Azul" was when we decided to take a cab back. We only ever saw one other couple using the pool a couple times, even though it was high season, and we pretty much had the place to ourselves for the week. We also had other family members staying in a nearby property, and we were much happier with Tamarindo Azul than they were with their condo. They had much smaller beds, some plumbing issues in the shower, and a lot of dust because they were at street level."
