  • Perfect Family Retreat in Playa Hermosa

"We had a wonderful time staying at Chris' unit in Villas Sol! At first, my husband was a little disappointed that the unit didn't have the view offered by many others advertised on VRBO in Playa Hermosa. However, we quickly realized that our unit's proximity to the beach was far more important and convenient than if we had rented a villa with a view as those units were all located up a very steep hillside! The unit itself was very clean and spacious and had all of the amenities we needed. The patio was perfect for playing board games, dining al fresco or simply reading and/or napping on a chaise and the small pool was ideal for our use with two small children ages 5 and 2. They LOVED it!! Plus, if we wanted to go socialize and play around in a bigger pool, there was that option also with the other two resort pools! Being in the complex itself made us feel safer and it was nice knowing that if we needed ANYTHING (especially having small children with us) there was always 24 hour staff that could assist us. Another great thing about being a part of the resort was that they offered great tours, as well as car rentals. I highly recommend getting shuttled into Villas Sol (preferably by Liberia Shuttle-Javier is great!) and renting a car from the resort. As it turned out, it was actually CHEAPER to rent from them than it was to rent near the airport AND it was much more convenient. Playa Hermosa itself was so peaceful with very few people on it at any given time. It is definitely not the 'mill' that Playas del Coco or Tamarindo are where you have people begging for money or trying to sell you things at your every turn. I think we were approached maybe twice to buy something the entire week we were in Playa Hermosa. As for restaurants, we favored Roberto's! We found it to have the best location, delicious food and a wonderful waitstaff!! AquaSport was also another fun spot a little further down. And if you rent a car, you MUST find Father Roosters! It's kind of tucked away in Playa Ocotal, but once you find it, you'll love it! Good food (although a bit on the pricey side), great entertainment and waitstaff and spectacular sunsets! Just a really unique place! All in all, we had a fabulous time while staying at Chris' unit and HIGHLY RECOMMEND it!! She, too, was a gem to work with and made everything very simple and stress-free. We can't wait to return to our newly found paradise as soon as possible!"

  • Great Digs 7/22-7/30 Rainy season NOt!! DID NOT RAIN A DROP SUNSHINE!! SUNSHINE!! the whole week.

"WE had myself and 5 ladies from ages 14-19. The condo was wonderful. Plenty of room for everybody. Great location ,oceanfront, nice upper balcony with an awesome view of ocean and sunsets. Nice beach right out front with wonderful snorkeling( lots of fish to see). Easy walk to town or a 5$ cab ride. Strong wifi ( girls loved that at night to stay connected lol). Kitchen equipped with everything. We only did breakfast and lunches. Ate out alot. Great pizza place accross the street with a Quick mart store there also. Juanro and Stefano were awesome in getting our excursions lined up. We did whitewater rafting, waterfalls, zip lining, horseback riding, snorkeling, surfing and Stand up paddle boarding. Also did a day of offshore fishing catching very nice grouper and pulled off a couple of sailfish. Our time flew by but the girls had a wonderful before heading back to school and college. Daddy was worn out . Would stay there again in a minute. Thanks Again guys!"

  • Great destination and rental option!

"The condo worked out very well for our family - plenty of room for my husband and I and our 2 teenage daughters. Staff helpful and accommodating. They could set up transfers to/from airport, activities, recommendations for dinner, etc. Our driver stopped at a grocery store on the way from the airport and we stocked up for the week. Tamarindo is a great destination. Lots of restaurants, very casual and friendly, great surf, gorgeous sunsets. Condo is about a 5-10 min walk to the town. We usually walked the beach vs the road. You have access to Longosta Beach Club that is across the street. It is a nice club with pool and cabanas, restaurant and bar, but it is very popular for weddings so at least 4-5 of the days we were there, they were either setting up or tearing down for a wedding, so limited pool and bar access. Another caution is that it is on a gravel road, so we never sat on our patio, it was too dusty. Saying that though, we liked being out of the town and a little more secluded than the option of a condo right in town, further away from the beach."

  • Great stay at Flamingo beach with some epic sunsets

"We had a wonderful stay, great location! Lots of fun things to do at walkingdistance. We went surfing every day, which was about a 15min drive from the condo to playa Grande. The condo has everything you need, it has a big fully equiped kitchen for homemade dinners. We made some big tuna tartars in this kitchen, but also one of the great things to have at Angelina's.(Local restaurant). Oh and the sunsets are epic!"
