  • Paradise

"Our perfect vacation in paradise started before our arrival by receiving all the necessary information including accurate directions, available activities, favorite tourist spots, and dining options. Mary is your own personal concierge--she arranged for the refrigerator to be stocked and a catered meal to be waiting on our arrival, which was especially appreciated after a long day of travel. She also helped arrange zip lining, horseback riding on the beach, and yoga at the house. In addition to that, the house itself was amazing. From the sound of breaking waves to the pool hammock for afternoon naps, we enjoyed hanging out at the house as much as our excursions. It's also reassuring to be in a gated community. The main reason we chose Casa Ola Perfecta was for the surf, and it doesn't disappoint. Whether you literally go out right in front of the house, walk five minutes south, or drive five minutes to Playa Avellenas the surfing is good just about any time of day. Our family (boys 14 and 12 and daughter 5 years old) had an amazing time, and part of the experience was the house, Mary, and Chuck. We highly recommend this place if you want a great beach/surf/relaxing vacation. It was truly Pura Vida."

  • Wonderful place to stay!

"Jane condo was everything a traveler would want in their stay. Their were a few things that needed to be addressed. Hot water in upstairs bathroom didn't produce in hot water and the stem wouldn't work sometimes. The towels could've been washed with bleached to make the traveler feel as if they were clean not looking at someone else's stain from before. The towels seemed to have been washed just not bleached. Also all shower curtains need to be washed or replaced due to dirt at the bottom of the curtains. Overall I would defiantly stay here again."

  • This IS the place to stay!

"We stayed a week March '16. It is hotter than the hubs of he-double-hockey-sticks, so be prepared! The property has security, very well manicured grounds, is small and quaint, off the beaten path, literally a few steps from the pool, and 1 minute walk through the locked gate to the ocean! The accommodations are great - private laundry rm - soap included, 2 single beds in one bedroom, a queen bed in the master with a master bath. Living room, dining and kitchen are spacious and have all that you need. 2nd bath off the living space that the teenagers used. Lots of towels! Kitchen is well stocked - dish soap included. There is a charcoal grill on the patio, but charcoal is more expensive than at home (Minnesota) and the fluid is a gel that is barely sufficient. The only thing I would improve on the property is the outside chairs as they have probably seen their better days, but were still functional for coffee in the a.m. and wine in the p.m. while listening to the ocean. You will see iguanas and geckos on property, as well as some birds. This property is off the beaten path, but still very close to town - 3 min drive. Be sure to hit the farmers market right down the road from the property on Saturday a.m. - pineapple is to die for! Beach walks are a must - go during low tide to check out the tide pools. If you have a car, go to the town of Guatil to check out the hand made pottery (the office can direct you) - 1st house on the left in town is Edwin - he is fantastic! He will give you a full tour and explanation of their pottery making process that has been handed down over generations. He took us to the backyard and there were iguanas in his mango tree as well as a Howler monkey! Awesome! Ask questions! Be sure to check out Tamarindo Beach, the boat tour in the Nat'l Park is worth it - monkeys eating from our hands and on our heads! This is a very popular area for surfing. The roads suck, period. Rent an SUV for sure. Don't eat at the Bocas restaurant - overpriced for what you get. Cooking in the villa saved us a ton of money, but groceries are not as cheap there as they are here. We went to 3 different grocery stores - all were comparable, but be prepared, they aren't like at home! We did have a couple maintenance issues in our villa - staff was prompt in repairing those items. CR is experiencing a major drought, we ran out of water, they bought 10,000 gallons, pump went out, hand repaired, up and running again. Would stay again!"

  • A week in paradise - wish we were still there!!

"What an amazing experience we had at Casa Paquita. First of all the house...It could not have been more perfect for the 4 families that stayed there. The kids loved the bunk room and the parents appreciated the well built (thick!) walls that kept their early mornings quiet. My husband and I stayed in the master suite which has a balcony and beautiful views of the pacific. We loved the beautiful woodwork and exquisite handpainted tiles throughout and the house had plenty of room for all of us. And the pool! The pool was perfect!!! An infinity pool overlooking the pacific was the perfect place to sit drinking our morning coffee, playing in all day and then watching the magnificent sunsets. Endless hours of entertainment for the kids (and adults) and Christian, the groundskeeper, kept it looking beautiful every day!! Paola, the property manager extraordinaire, was so instrumental in making sure our stay was perfect. She and I emailed back and forth many times before we arrived as she assisted us with the planning of out excursions, securing a car rental and making dinner reservations. I cant imagine trying to book this trip without her! When I suggested an activity, she provided us with the very best there was to offer (Pura Adentura for ziplining, Anteres for a sunset boat tour, Sabrina for surfing and Action Advenures for kayaking were a few of her perfect suggestions!) A BIG thank you to Paola, you made our trip a memory!! And then there was Naomi - wonderful, sweet, loving Naomi!! She was our cook and housekeeper but so much more. Besides being an excellent cook (her empanades, tortillas steak, fish, plantains..!!!! The list goes on an on..) she felt like a part of the family. We all fell in love with her for her kindness and caring ways. Thank you to Rich, Paola and Naomi for a wonderful vacation - when we return to CR, we will return to Casa Paquita - absolutely perfect!!"
