  • Wonderful and relaxing getaway

"Our family really enjoyed the week we spent at Villa Gecko. We were there in the off season and nearly had the resort to ourselves. The weather was delightful, the management at the office took great care of us and we enjoyed the beauty and very comfortable surroundings within our Villa. Our owner, Mary, provided lots of helpful information for us and this enhanced our stay greatly!"

  • Perfect location in a gorgeous condo complex!

"We stayed for 15 nights in this well-equipped, spacious condo in December 16/January 17. This 1st floor condo is located next to a common area which we used nearly every evening to play cards, and literally had it to ourselves. The King bed and two Twins (Which could be moved together to for a King) were comfortable. Two bathrooms were perfect for two couples sharing the unit, or a family. This unit has a view of one pool, but we never used it, as we preferred the other pools and hot tub which were just a short walk away. The pool lounge chairs were the most comfortable of any place we have been, with many trees for shade as well as umbrellas. We often ate, relaxed or played cards on the deck attached to the condo as well, depending on the time of day. The morning sun was often too hot to use it for coffee and breakfast. We used the Magic Jack on the provided laptop to phone home to Canada free of charge a couple of times, which was a nice feature! The appliances were modern, and the fridge had ice/water in the door. No need for bottled water in Costa Rice, as the water is excellent! Lots of TV Channels, in both Spanish and English, not that we watched much. There was no safe in the condo as we had thought there was, but one was provided when we requested it. The condo was clean, with lots of towels provided for bath and pool. The washer and drier were very convenient to have so we didn't need to bring many clothes. The kitchen was quite well equipped, but could use a set of bowls for mixing/serving. There are two excellent grocery stores within walking distance; one located just outside the security gates of the condo complex, and one across the street from that. We found everything we needed there, as well as Tico's Bakery, and fruit carts just down the street. We occasionally drove, but usually walked to one of many excellent restaurants in Coco when we chose not to cook in the condo. The grounds are beautiful, and well maintained. Before going on our trip, Joe answered any questions we had within a few hours. We would highly recommend this condo complex, and specifically this unit, as we felt it was one of the best located. No stairs, adjacent to the common area (of which only two buildings had this feature), close to the "lazy river" pools, but with a view of the other pool, and very quiet. It was paradise within the small, friendly town of Playa del Coco, which we much preferred to the busier surf town of Tamarindo."

  • Overall BEST experience!

"The home owners were such a pleasure to work with and really provided the easiest and most enjoyable experience booking not only the house but also activities throughout our trip! They made planning our vacation fun and informative. They were able to set us up with private chefs for the house, massages to come to the house, and pretty much any outdoor activity you could think of. We will definitely be booking with them again in the future!!"

  • Best Family Trip!

"We recently stayed at Casa Colina with our 2 teenaged daughters and another family who has 2 daughters the same age. The villa was perfect for us! There was ample room for everyone. Closet & drawer space was plentiful. The linen closet was well stocked with sheets & towels. The bathrooms were spacious and the kitchen had everything we needed. Glad to have the washer & dryer for daily laundering of dirty clothes/bathing suits from all our adventures! It was also very helpful to have the safe for our valuable items. The villa wasn't just functional, it was also beautifully decorated. Everything looked beachy & fresh. It was a pleasure to be there! In terms of Bahia Pez Vela, we felt very safe - there's a security gate. Walk to the beach was only a minute or so. There is a pretty steep hill that you can't get around when going to the beach, so if you have trouble walking that might not be ideal, but was fine for us. It is a little tucked away, but we loved that. The cove is gorgeous & it was nice to have a virtually private beach. We ate at the on-premise restaurant, Picante, one evening & everyone enjoyed it. We wished they had a breakfast offering. Cesar & Jacky in the office were helpful with suggestions & securing taxis. Prior to our trip, Neil, the homeowner, was very responsive & helpful. In terms of Guanacaste, GO! The country is beautiful, the people are friendly, the food is excellent and the activities are endless! We will go again & we would absolutely stay at Casa Colina again!"
