  • Best Vacation EVER!!

"I am hesitant to write this review because it is a gem and I want to be able to rent it in the future but if you want to have the most wonderful holiday you need to stay at Casa Pacifica. Located between two of the most glorious and different beaches in Costa Rica minutes away walking. Just amazing. The house is over the top, providing everything you need. Pool was amazing and the outdoor shower too. The beds were SO comfortable. The kayaks were super fun to have, we paddled out to Isla Chora with turtles all around, the hermit crabs on the Isla were wonderful as well. Howler Monkeys, lizards, crabs, butterflies, flowers, crocodiles and so many birds. Doesn't get any better. Samara is a special place. We enjoyed coconut water from fresh coconuts everyday, the restaurants were yummy and the people beyond lovely. Pura vida. Pura vida. As mentioned in a previous review EVERYONE associated with this glorious home was so helpful, kind and friendly. I hope you get a chance to enjoy what we did, we can't wait to return."

  • Great House! Tough Surf...

"We just returned from an 11 day visit to Villa Carramar. It was our third trip to Costa Rica (first trip to Playa Negra) and we shared the house with our dear friends totaling 10 people. Full disclosure - we came here for a surf vacation but during our stay, the largest swell of the year made it too dangerous for us to surf several of the days we were here. It would have been epic if we were more skilled but as it was, we had to drive to nearby Avellanas (15 min away) to get smaller waves. There was plenty of room at the house for everyone and we really enjoyed the open character. The pool was also great...kids loved it! We also enjoyed seeing the monkeys in the mango trees and all the forage around the house - very cool. Big picture takeaway from my perspective - 4x4 vehicle is a requirement (we nearly got stuck and nearly hit a fence on the drive to the property) during this time of year when the rains are frequent, the beach is very rocky and not exactly user friendly for kids, and getting supplies was an ordeal causing a lot of time in transit. Also, during our stay, the house underwent some required maintenance (roof replacement) that was quite noisy at times. Gina was great! She helped us contract a cook for our stay and I highly recommend anyone going to ask for Alexandra (she goes by Shenita). She cooked some really great meals! But like I said, you have to be prepared to make a few runs to the grocery store during your stay (45 min away) as Playa Negra is lacking on supplies. If you want to eat out, Hotel Deeveena is an excellent place (it is $$$$, so be prepared) as well as Jalapeños. If you want to rent surf equipment, I can't say enough good things about Javier at Pargos Surf Adventures (http://pargosadventures.com), he's great! Overall, I'd recommend this location for people with excellent surfing skills that don't mind walking a bit and/or driving to the break. I will also say that the owner, Jon, was a pleasure to work with."

  • Breath taking views with unbelievable hospitality

"Visiting Costa Rica was on our bucket list. I had a friend of mine that stayed at Las Ventanas del Mar last year and recommended we checked it out. The photos on the website are beautiful but the actual property is gorgeous. There was 6 of us traveling together and when we opened up the door to our unit we were like kids as we walked around and yelled out to each other how amazing the home was with it's beautiful decor and the wrap around porch with views of the Pacific Ocean. They had left no small details out. We had access to beach chairs, snorkel gear, tennis gear, beach towels, coolers which all came into use. The infinity pool was unbelievable with its views of the ocean and mountains. We would go out almost every night for a swim and to wind down from the day’s activities and look at the stars. On a clear night go out and relax under the stars. It's like you can reach up and grab the stars as they look so close. Lorena, the property manager, was so helpful. She was very welcoming in our visit and always there to assist us with any questions or needs we had. We traveled outside of the property everyday as there were so many things we wanted to do. We did surf lessons at Samara Beach, rode ATV's for a sunset tour, traveled to Sibu Sanctuary where they rescue monkeys in need of medical care and release them back into the wild. We drove to Punta Islita and Playa Corozalito to be lucky enough to watch them release 68 baby turtles into the ocean. Each of the beach towns we visited were uniquely different with their sands, color of the water and break of the waves. The food and drinks were delicious. If you are adventurous and want to go out towards Nosara and their beaches, make sure to find La Luna for lunch. Go hungry as the food is amazing and in large portions. Our overall experience was beyond our expectations. We will be back again soon!"

  • What a VIEW!

"We have been back from Nosara for a couple of weeks now and all we can think about is when are we going back. We loved Casa Murray it really is the best view up in the Las Huacas area. We debated whether we wanted to be close to the beach or look at it. It was no mistake to take the view. Its just a short drive down to Guiones and to be able to relax by the pool and look at the view was AMAZING! It was me, my husband, 5 year old daughter and Mom. My Mom had her own space downstairs and was very comfortable. We were barely inside (even though its very comfortable). It really is the outdoor space that makes this place. Kitchen was awesome fully equipped. We made breakfast and lunch almost everyday and then went out for dinners. So many amazing spots to eat in Nosara. You really can't go wrong. Our favs were La Luna (on the beach awesome sunsets), Gilded Iguana, Kaya Sol, Beach Dog Cafe (now open for dinner), Burgers and Beers (connected is also sushi), Le Creperie, El Chivo (mexican), Seekrat Spot (ice cream) and Harmony Hotel for smoothies, juices and fantastic drinks and meals. I highly recommend Nosara for all the fun activities too. Agua Tibia has a great kids surf camp, we also used Surfing Nosara for lessons, Miss Sky for zip line and spent a lot of time at the Yoga Institute and Harmony Hotel for drop in yoga classes. Robert was very responsive when we made our last minute reservation and he has great staff that will take care of you while you're there. The maid comes a little too frequently for us but, how can I complain about someone cleaning up after us right? Thanks so much Robert loved your place."
