  • Perfect place!

"We had a family reunion here and it was perfect! They layout was great it was VERY well supplied including boogie boards and sand toys for the children, an air mattress and a pack and play. We had all ages- 2 kids under 2, two 8 year olds, and 2 teens. There was plea to if room for all to sleep, eating space between the table and the bar, and the outside terrace area was perfect for those of us who wake up early and don't want to disturb the others. There was a little snag at check in - our reservations were lost but they handled it beautifully and immediately dispatched 3 cleaners to get it ready while we hung out in the pool. It didn't even put a bump in our vacation and they were so nice and apologetic. I would highly recommend this place to anyone but it was especially fantastic for us with all of the different kids ages. Having the beach right in front well as the pool made it easy for everyone to get what they wanted. The giant bathtub in the master made it easy for me to take care of baby bath time. There are also several great restaurants within walking distance. We will definitely be back!"

  • Incredible vacation rental with high end features, expansive patio, and hotel-like amenities

"We stayed with two families at the penthouse and could not have been more pleased. The onsite staff was amazing. We had 5 children who were greeted by Camacho every morning with a high five. We needed roll-away beds and a babysitter and the staff made all of that easy to get and organize. The actual condo was top notch. The rooms were big, the bathrooms were all high end, and the patio was huge. The photos do justice to the condo itself --- all the descriptions are accurate. Across the street, the beach club was incredible as well. We had a cabana every day and the staff at the beach club were awesome too. We could cook at the rental or eat at the beach club so the convenience made the vacation easy. When it comes to Tamarindo, we were surprised the grocery store was soo expensive so eating out cost about the same as shopping at the grocery store. We have traveled quite a bit with our children and have agreed this stay was one of the best we've ever had. We are hoping to be able to come back again!"

  • Awesome Punta Dakota

"This is a beautiful, well maintained luxury villa with an awesome infinity pool. The concierge services were wonderful. The ocean is less than 1/2 mile away and the surroundings are breathtaking. Definitely want to visit again!"

  • Wonderful

"We recently had a fabulous stay at Villa Gecko. Mary, the owner made the arrangements as easy as can be, and was in constant contact for months leading up to the trip. She provided valuable information not only about the resort, but the entire area. The villa is exactly as described, no surprises. It is well stocked and very clean. The private pool and jacuzzi were a real treat, and we spent alot of time enjoying them. The resort staff are readily available, and very friendly and helpful. They would even call for taxi's for us when we requested, which was very helpful considering the language barrier. The restaurant, Picante was a favorite afternoon activity for drinks and snacks, and the staff there were wonderful. (Thanks Cesar, Juan, and Gabrielle!) We were fortunate to be able to see the howler monkeys every day, (when you go out the back door, look to the left, near the bottom of the hill). The beautiful birds were always around, and will eat out of your hand. We also saw a large iguana several days, and were visited every night by the cutest and friendliest pair of raccoons! The beach is beautiful black sand, and swimming in the ocean was fun, but I would caution people to watch children very carefully, and not swim alone, as the current can be very strong at times. We had great snorkeling just off our beach near the rocks to the right. We did not rent a car, as we were weary of things we had read about the driving in CR, and found it perfectly ok getting around by taxi. The cost to go to town is 10 dollars, and every time we wanted to go grocery shopping, the cabs had no problem waiting for us, and did not charge for the wait time. It is a good idea to verify the price before you take the ride, as unfortunately there are a few who will prey on your ignorance. We had arranged the airport transfers through the resort and were told that it was 50 dollars, payable directly to the driver. When we were dropped off at the villa however, the driver told me it was 80 dollars. I called him out on it and he backed right off, but I can see how easily somebody with a more timid personality could be taken advantage of. For activities, we did deep sea fishing, palo verde river tour, heliconias rain forest, and snorkeling. We loved Villa Gecko, and loved Costa Rica. Can't wait to return to both! Pura Vida!"
