  • A Wonderful House with Gorgeous Views

"My wife and two sons stayed at this property over New Years. The house is exactly like the pictures on the site. Clean, spacious, and well appointed for our six day stay. Perfect size for the four of us. Only a 5 minute drive to beautiful Carrillo Beach and 10 minutes to Samara. We used the kitchen and outdoor grill for breakfast and lunch. We ate dinners in Samara which has plenty of restaurant options. Pool was well maintained and has a stunning view of the ocean. Maid service was provided and the property's caretaker was there several times during our stay. To reach the house you must drive a steep rutted dirt road from Playa Carrillo. A four wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended. I would highly recommend this property and we look forward to returning some day."

  • Wonderful location! Lovely home!

"We had two families, total of 8, stay at Casa Cristal for spring break and it was lovely! Lots of room to relax around the pool. The four bedrooms gave us plenty of room and we could even watch the NCAA finals and the Masters on the TV in the family room. The kitchen was great and we enjoyed having the cook a few nights too! The ping pong table was a big hit with the kids and they loved walking to the beach everyday to surf! We went fishing one day and caught 4 sailfish! Great house to rent for a surfing and fishing vacation!"

  • Loved the condo.

"This condo was perfect for us! There were four of us, my husband and two grown kids (18 and 21). Although we did not spend much time in the condo, there was plenty of room and privacy. Having a washer/dryer is a dream, we could have packed way less than we did. The kitchen is wonderful, very clean, and while we did not cook we had coffee and breakfast items, which saved a little hassle and money. We booked a couple of trips through the hotel (zip lining and river cruise). Definitely take a look at the guest book, you will get lots of ideas where to go. Our favorites were Green Papaya, Dragonfly and Seasons. We took a trip to Playa Avellana and ate at Lola's -- great food there, and beautiful beach. Make sure you check hours and payment before going to some places -- Lola's was not open for dinner, Season's doesn't take credit cards, Green Papaya is closed on Mondays. As someone said the WIFI isn't too strong but it is available and you don't really want to be online too much. We saw lots of monkeys on the property and off, and parrots in the early morning (off the property). Neil (the owner) and Katia (from the property management company) were very helpful and responsive."

  • Great house, great views & wonderful hosts.

"Our family of four recently stayed 4 nights at the Lake Arenal guesthouse. It was a perfect setting. The guesthouse has ample space, but we only needed to use the bottom floor. It is well equipped for cooking and has a washer/dryer which is great if you have kids. The grounds and trails around the property are amazing and make it easy for exploring without having to drive anywhere. Our children, ages 6 &9, loved playing in the natural pools and small waterfall while listening for the howler monkeys. It is a very safe place while being a convenient point from which to explore the Lake Arenal area. Our hosts, Michael & Sandy were very generous and we enjoyed sharing our common interests. We would definitely return and highly recommend."
