  • Great Christmas family getaway

"Our family stayed December 2016. 7 adults--2 couples, 3 singles. The 4 bedrooms worked fine. The one that has no privacy and that you have to walk through to get to the bathroom is a little weird. It was also odd that that bathroom didn't have a ceiling (which means not completely private) but there was another bathroom so that was ok. The beach is great. You can wade out a long way and still touch so it felt very safe. We did not sit on the beach. There were ants that sometimes felt like they were biting my feet if I was still but it wasn't that big of a deal. Some of us had irritation from something in the water but was only stung for an hour or less and then went away. There is a shower in the backyard just inside the gate that was very convenient to wash off before going in the house or pool. Many people walked the beach (but it was not crowded at all) and everyone was friendly. There is a dramatic difference between high and low tide. You can't walk as far during high tide. There is an inlet or estuary each way that you can not cross when the water is high. The pool area is great. The cabana and row of bushes provide shade and privacy. The balcony is lovely and shaded all day long with a great view. Jorge, the house manager, lives on the first floor of the house and he took good care of us -- got our groceries, shuttled us to and from the airport, and drove us to and from the Beach House restaurant (he had an emergency at another place he manages so we waited a long time and we could have had better communication regarding that though). We went jet skiing and snorkeling with his son Joshua which was very fun. We rented boogie boards and kayaks from the place down the beach. It would have been nice to have had some beach "toys" available at the house. We walked to Perla's restaurant (10 minutes). I walked the beach to the Beach House one morning (27 minutes). I walked to the restaurant to the right down the beach (12 minutes) but we didn't eat there. There is a convenience store that is a 10 minute walk. The groceries and restaurants were more expensive than we anticipated. The 7 of us had lunch at the restaurant at the airport (no one ordered alcohol) and it cost $175! 6 of us ate at Perla's with 3 drinks and it was $100. We spent around $350 on groceries which did include alcohol. Overall, we were very satisfied. Casa Surfside was reasonably priced for all ALL that we got -- togetherness, beach, pool, and fabulous view."

  • Great family vacation at Barefoot Villa!

"We had a wonderful family vacation in Nosara staying at Barefoot Villa. The house is beautiful and was a perfect fit for my wife and I and our two adult children with their significant others. The location is great at the end of a cul-de-sac near the beach and town. We especially appreciated the time the owner Angie took to advise and assist us with arranging for groceries, Nina’s cooking, restaurant selection, excursions, etc. Brian, the property manager, was very helpful as well. Angie also connected us with Natalie who runs Nosara Family Surf. Natalie found us a golf cart rental when we could find nothing online, and also helped us put together a fun itinerary of activities (surfing lessons, sunset horseback ride, zip line, ATV tour). These additional services were an added bonus and instrumental in making for a fun, stress free vacation. We love Nosara and hope to have the opportunity to go back there again in the not too distant future, and when we do we will be sure to stay at Barefoot Villa!"

  • The Condo is wonderful!

"The condo itself is beautiful and wonderful views! Driving to it is a challenge. The roads are all dirt and the driveway is very steep. If you are walking on the beach it is easy. It is a 3 mile walk from the condo to Brazilto Beach. Beautiful."

  • Beautifully located beach house

"Our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beautifully located beach house on Playa Grande. Some of my fondest memories include waking up in the morning, brewing myself a cup of authentic Costa Rican coffee, enjoying it on the quiet pristine beach of Playa Grande as the sun rose, and then plunging into the ocean for a morning surf. Located a short walk down the beach from Tamarindo - this beach home blends peace and tranquility with the beat of a bustling tourist town. Jorge - the home owner - was very helpful and attentive, and we can't wait to return."
