  • Beautiful home, Beautiful location

"We spent 5 nights at the Villa. The views are spectacular, the house is beautiful and can easily handle the strong winds and rain we experienced on our trip. Everything was as advertised on the website, we were very happy with everything. The owner and property manager were very accommodating considering our flight was delayed in the states and we got their pretty late in the evening. The house is in a very remote area so you should keep in mind you are likely to encounter bugs. We were ready for this so it did not bother us when we did see some both inside and out. We just swept them outside, not a big deal. We are in the jungle after all. The fireflies flying outside the window gave us a nice light show we aren't used to being from So. Cal. The Howler monkeys yelling at sunrise was our alarm clock and loved it. Only one issue kept us from giving a 5 star review. We heard movement in the attic and was told it was bats. From time to time the owner chases them out with spotlights. On some days they were very active, making lots of noise. We noticed areas of the wood ceiling where it appears the bat droppings have started staining the wood. Once the attic is cleaned, I wouldn't hesitate to give this place 5 stars. Our real regret was not staying longer. Toad Hall is a nine minute walk down the road. The food is excellent and the employees are the friendliest people we met in CR. John and his mother Jami are amazing chefs. I recommend you try John's homemade salsa. Best we've ever had! His deep fried ice cream is also too good to pass up. Also don't miss the sunset at Tinajas in Nuevo Arenal. They serve a great pizza as well. We will be back and we will book this house again!"

  • Beautiful, tranquil and secluded

"The house is beautiful and Sashi is an attentive host. This was our first visit to the NIcoya coast, and we enjoyed it very much. We were looking for a relaxing getaway in a beautiful, sunny spot and that is just what we got. We were there during the dry season in February. The best things about this property: The house itself is well-kept. Our favorite spot was definitely the wide veranda surrounded by lovely palms. The master bed is very comfortable, the view out every window is beautiful, having two bathrooms, and the library of reading material. And Sashi herself, who helped us find organic produce, medicine when needed, good restaurants, and made a reservation for a surfing lesson. There is a dearth of comfortable furniture in the house, but we found our favorite chairs and moved them wherever we wanted to be. There were ants in the house, but we have those at home too, and they were easily dealt with. Be prepared for night noises (I was glad for my earplugs) and cool showers (actually quite welcome in the warm climate). Also be prepared to drive miles of rough gravel roads to get there--it's best to rent a larger vehicle or use a shuttle. We were pleasantly surprised by how many wonderful restaurants were nearby AND how easy it was to find vegetarian and vegan options at the restaurants. La Luna and El Chivo were our favorites. The beach was just beautiful! We spent most of our time at Playa Pelada, but also went to Playa Guiones to surf. Guiones also has great restaurants and some nice shops, but is more crowded and commercial than Pelada. Overall, a great community to vacation in, and this house a very nice place to stay. We'd love to go back!"

  • “Captivated !”

"If you desire it all ...and mostly privacy, clear sunny skies, awesome temperatures, walk accessibility to most any amenities and instantly "feel" Purda Vida - you found it. We sure did ! There's something going on every day and evening in any of the surrounding establishments. Enjoy your morning and evening walk on a 2 mile beach with almost no one on it ( unreal and shhhh) , experience sunset from the poolside Cabana with a libation or 2, but only after a dip in your private infinity pool. Sleep to the soft music of the ocean waves - ahhhhh yes, we found it. We have covered a lot of territory on this wonderful planet of ours and with this type of private micro resort option and location, from start to finish and top to bottom, it was all "top drawer" as they say :) Pleasantly addicted and already booked again for next year!"

  • Wonderful, very clean and well located home in Nosara.

"We were two families with two kids each staying in this lovely casa for two weeks. We loved the peaceful setting and location. The golf cart rental was essential for us to get to the beach and around town. Greeted by the howler monkeys' sounds in the morning and the beautiful horses next door was a great way to start the day. The house was extremely clean and organized. Just needed more glasses and mugs, but everything else was all we needed to chef up some great meals. Excellent wifi service and stable electricity was essential and delivered. Thank you to the management people, Rebeca and Katy. They were thorough and lovely to deal with. High recommend this house and hope to return soon"
