  • Tropical Paradise!

"We were delighted to stay in this lovely home. From day one we shared the outdoor space with monkeys, toucans and many species of beautiful birds. The lake view and access were priceless. This was home, only better! At home we don't get a great property manager, cleaning service and grounds-keeping. I highly recommend this as a place for privacy and relaxation. There were so many day trips to take to preserves, volcanoes, outdoor activities, sanctuaries, resorts and beaches. We've traveled many places in the world, but none more gorgeous, gracious and well-appointed."

  • Christmas Getaway (2nd visit to Casa Kalumina)

"Second time here at this wonderful house. Previously visited in January 2010 and like the area so much, came back for Christmas 2016. Shawna & Jorge both were very helpful and made every effort to make is feel at home (as did Alyssa did in 2010). Beach is very close and the corner store around the corner is now a Wilmart grocery. The home is perfectly suited for large families. While there we did a sunset sail out of Playa Flamingo and some of the party went on a canopy tour. Mostly we just enjoyed the beach and the head high waves that we just love in the area. We especially love the outdoor kitchen and entertaining space it offers. We had other family staying also in Palm Beach Estates which was convenient for all to visit. We ate Christmas dinner at the Hotel Bula Bula and several other times visited Hotel Cantarana for their Tapas Thursday and breakfast. Prices there were very reasonable and food excellent. This area has so very much to offer everyone from adventure to just relaxing. Highly recommend this house for groups of 8 or more."

  • Beautiful location. Walking distance to stores and restaurants. Pool perfect.

"Would have appreciated better directions to property. Alternative ways to communicate with house manager as phones did not work and WiFi not reliable. Description of property was confusing. There's a two bedroom casita and a duplex with two studio apartments. It was unclear what I had rented."

  • Stunningly beautiful and relaxing!

"We just spent a week with friends at this amazing home on Peninsula Papagayo. The home is open and spacious. The large front doors open to the living area and the entire backside of the house are glass doors that open to the tropical breezes and the ocean. Numerous seating areas inside and outside give everyone plenty of space to either retreat with a book for gather for cocktails while seeing the sunset. The views are specular and you can hear the ocean waves breaking on the beach below. All the bedrooms have individually controlled a/c that operates quickly and quietly. Each bedroom has huge closets and its own bathroom supplied with luxury amenities. The Casa is tastefully and comfortably furnished to reflect the beauty of Costa Rica with art and crafts from local artists. Yahida was the sweet housekeeper that was there to tidy up the bedrooms on a daily basis and help us practice our Spanish. She was very helpful and was appreciative of the gratuity we gave her before we left. The owners, Elaine and Bart, gave us all the information we needed in order to access the Four Season’s Resort Community. We took full advantage of the golf cart provided to visit restaurants and beaches and we even used the Paddle boards in the bay!! That was cool! We had massages at the beach club and enjoyed using the fitness center. Played golf on this amazing course with views to die for, walked the 2000+ steps that hug the cliff side, and then when the stars came out we just reclined in the pool chairs looking up at the heavens. This house is at the top of my list for luxury vacation rentals!"
