  • We loved it and you will too

"This is absolutely the place to stay if you're wanting to go to Costa Rica. Pat and Eryn are wonderful hosts! Yes the house is on a very steep hill (but you need to burn off all the food and beer you drink while in Costa Rica) plus with it being on a hill you get a wonderful breeze that you don't get if you're below the hill. Monkeys come to visit at sunset and you have a dog and cat that greets you when you are there. The house is amazing! The pool is much needed after the climb up the hill and to relax and watch the sunset. Tamarindo has a friendly and alive type atmosphere. Hope you all have as much fun as we did."

  • Isolated Beautiful Property

"We enjoyed our week in Costa Rica. The country is beautiful, the locals are nice and very helpful. The different towns are full of great cuisine and even shopping. There are activities galore. We went on a catamaran cruise and booked a tour with zip lining, horseback riding, hot springs, mud bath, lunch, waterslide, and a waterfall. The house is in great condition, and the pool is definitely its main selling feature. There is an ocean view from the empty lot across from the property and also from the upper balcony which Mario let us use look from. The walk to the ocean is about 10-15 minutes, which is a little longer than I expected and awould have liked for it to be. Although the view is obscured, you can definitely hear the waves crashing later in the afternoon and through the evening hours. The landscaping around the propert was gorgeous. We heard lots of wildlife such as various birds, bats, and monkeys. We saw geckos, an iguana, toucan, and monkeys nearly every morning when we sat out by the pool. The main gravel road from the pavement to the property was incredibly rough. It was like driving on a washboard for 10-15 minutes. Myself and another in our party got car sick nearly every night after dinner on our ride home, but the men didn't think it was too bad. The paved roads were great and the lane that the house was on was in pretty good shape as well. Some things I wish the house would have had would be trash bags, dish soap, toilet paper, and blankets for the beds. We didn't expect to need those things so we had to make an additional trip to the store for those. Mario was great in giving recommendations for restaurants or thins to see. He always made sure that we were doing alright, and asked if we needed anything. He even invited us down to the party that the locals were having. All in all it was a great stay. Thanks Tim & Bridget."

  • Nice place, I'd stay there again.

"Very nice house, everything was as advertised. It is a quiet spot as there are no immediate neighbors at present. The beach is a minute walk, is very clean and uncrowded, we counted 30 people at most within sight during the busy period (people there to watch the sunset). The pool is very nice as well, private and a great way to start the day. You really don't need a car if you are willing to stay around the area as we were as all needs were withing walking distance with the exception of a ATM or bank which we solved by renting bicycles for the day. There are two bars along the beach, both with excellent music. One not too far to the right as you approach the beach and the other is a good walk to the the left just before the raised pier that crosses the beach in the distance. Like I said we are considering it again in the future. It has a nice set up for two couples with two nice bedrooms c/w their own closets and bathrooms. One unrelated note as far as the house goes, don't go to the airport hungry and buy souvenirs before you leave as the airport is the most expensive I've ever been to."
