  • Most Enjoyable. Thank you.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks at the Toucan Inn. Mike was there to meet us and go over all of the details about our accommodations and gave us all the information about our immediate area. Beach. Store. Restaurant. Ect. The cabin was big and bright. The bed very comfortable. It was clean. The property was lovely, gated and private even though we were near the beach road. The beach was a two minute walk. The location to surrounding villages was central to all. We had the pleasure of meeting Jon, the owner of Toucan Inn. He shared with us many stories about the history of this beautiful area of Punta Uva. We would certainly return to Toucan Inn without hesitation. Thank you Mike and Jon for making our first trip to Costa Rica a most memorable adventure. Pura Vida. Deb and Lew."

  • Highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat..

"Had 9 wonderful days. Property is extremely well kept, wildlife spectacular, pool area just wonderful and only a 10 minute walk to the beach. Anything we needed was immediately handled by Zvezda, Pablo or Sandra. Thank you for a fabulous holiday."

  • Perfect family house

"We rented the house for a week during the Christmas period. The house is well located just outside of Puerto Viejo (walking distance). You have an amazing view on the ocean. The beach is just on the other side of the street and since this is just outside of the town, you are almost alone on the beach. The sand is perfect but the waves are fairly big (we enjoyed that but this is not for small children). Jogging on the beach was perfect. The houses are protected by a gate (owner and the two rental houses). The owner give you a remote control when you arrive so you can come and go as you wish. The owner and other houses are not too close from each other so you have enough space and privacy. Their is a pub not too far away serving drinks and food. The groceries and other restaurants are located in town ~1 KM away and are easily accessed in car or with a short walk. AC and Internet was working fine. We visited the Cahuita national park and town (we saw a lot of animals), CariBeans chocolate plantation and factory (was amazing) and tested many beaches all the way down to Manzanillo (honestly, the best beach is just in front of the house). We tested a few local restaurants and the food was fine (Soda Lidia's Place and Soda Shekina). But we mainly cooked at the house for breakfast and dinner. We were able to cook sophisticated meals but the house could be better equipped. I only had 5 forks and when cooking I used all the pots and plates. The owner should provide more pots, toaster, basic items for cleaning and some instructions sheets for things to do around and points of interest. Overall great location."

  • perfect getaway

"My wife and I wanted to check out Costa Rica and were a little apprehensive, not knowing much about the country , but we saw this ad and decided to go for it! We flew into San Jose and stayed there for the night then got a shuttle the next morning to Puerto Viejo. They took us right to the front door, no problems at all! Susanna who manages the property lives three houses down and met us there. She gave us a list of fun things to do along with numbers of people to call to help with different tours. The property is absolutely beautiful! We immediately fell in love with the area. I would describe it as very "laid back". Most people either walk or ride bikes. We walked along the beach into town most days, which in reality is more like a 30 minute walk, but one where you thoroughly enjoy each moment! The ocean is breathtaking and at times you truly have your own private beach right outside your back yard! We wanted to see how the locals lived and we noticed that everyone just seemed happier and less stressed than in the states. We found our own little "soda" or small open air restaurant that we loved where we could get a great meal for $6. There is much to do there if you feel like it. We did visit a wildlife preserve and a cocoa farm close by. But the greatest thing was just walking along the beach, taking a dip in the ocean or relaxing in the swimming pool. We were there only a week but can't wait to return! Once again, Susana was a great help and we would recommend this place to anyone! So glad we found it!"
