  • Great house in a great area!

"We loved this house. It had plenty of room - more than we needed for the two of us. The house is separated from the beach only by a gravel road. Beach access was just across that road. There was an outdoor shower in the yard which was nice for washing off the sand. The front porch was a great place to stay out of the sun and still enjoy the sound of the waves. The kitchen was well equipped (no microwave though) and had almost everything we needed (a large bowl for salad would be a good addition). It was nice to have a great non-stick pan for cooking breakfasts. The king sized bed was very comfortable. The mosquito nets were not needed when we were there. I never once saw a mosquito but there were little no-see-ums just at sunset that bothered me a little (but nothing more than a minor annoyance). On our first day the water pump for the hot water quit working and the owners were there immediately to get it fixed. On the second day, I locked myself out. The owner's mother lives next door and she was very kind to let me back in. The house does have a security system. The gates on the yard both lock as well so we felt very secure. You can walk into the town on the beach but it would be 30-45 mins or so. It is a 5 minute drive. There were lots of good restaurants - we really liked Lazlo's Catch of the Day. The gaucamole and ceviche at the Point (just 10 mins walk down the beach) was great. The beach BBQ on Sunday at Hotel Banana Azul (5 mins walk away) was also great. We highly recommend this property."

  • Amazing vacation!! Can't wait to return!!!

"First of all, as other guests have suggested, the photos do not even come close to doing this property justice. What a gorgeous setting. There were 6 of us, and we never once felt crowded, and it was a very nice blend of together time and private time. Although it may take some time to get there, it is so worth the wait. Off the beaten "tourist" path and therefore empty beaches and no traffic. Would not recommend renting a car in San Jose as it is a very challenging drive. Transportation can be easily arranged through the property manager. The walk to the beach was a little further than anticipated, but the short cut, as long as weather is dry, is a quicker option. And the empty beach is well worth it. Probably the most beautiful beach we have seen in all of our travels. The entire experience was truly magical."

  • Awesome week of vacation with the whole family!!

"The location of the house is perfect -- ten minutes walking distance to Cahuita national park, beach, and town center. It is right on the edge of the National Park where you wake up to the sound of howler monkeys and birds. We spent most of the time chilling (big couches and a hammock), grilling and conversing on the big porch behind the house. One of the big advantages of the house was the great equipment of the kitchen and the entire house. Nona is really attentive and received us warmly and really made us feel at home. We really enjoyed the whole stay and we will definitely go back when we are back in Cahuita or the surroundings."

  • Amazing Costa Rican Experience

"We just finished our family vacation to Costa Rica and Troy's house provided us a perfect house to enjoy it all. The house is on a very large secluded lot that made us feel like we were staying in the jungle by ourselves. Yet is was a very easy walk into the town of Cahuita (15 min walk) if we needed food or drinks. The local beaches are less than a couple of blocks away and provided our teenagers with hours of fun in the warm waters. We loved being able to enjoy all of the wildlife right in the front yard each morning and evening. The house is well equipped for preparing meals if you so desire. The internet was great as it allowed us to research and book excursions in the local area while we were there. Booking the day before allowed us to make sure the weather was good for the excursion we wanted to do and find we could get some great deals. We unfortunately were not able to meet Troy while we were there but he had his friend Georgia there to provided us any help and information she could. She was great and very helpful when some questions/needs arose during our trip. The town of Cahuita was small but provided us with all we needed. We felt the smaller town on the Caribbean helped to provide our kids the experience we needed. This house definitely helped to make our vacation AMAZING and we definitely would love to come back or recommend this to others."
