  • Villa Noor

"Our overall experience here was great. We loved the surrounding jungle, the almost private beach, and the location. We saw 10-12 Howler Monkeys where the beach path opens to the beach, which was really cool. The cable TV is 90% spanish programming (we don't speak spanish) and the wireless is a little slow, but was reliable during our stay. We also had a few run ins with bugs the first night."

  • New Year's Eve at Casa Bella

"There were 10 of us total that stayed from 12/27 - 1/5. 8 in Casa Bella (main house) with 2 in the Casita. Our objective was to be dropped in to the day-to-day life of Playa Chiquita and that is exactly what happened (w/a little TLC). Erinn scheduled transportation for the entire group (which was the way to go) and stops on the way - including a wonderful place to eat and that was our first taste of food yet to come! We arrived at the property about 9:30 and were welcomed with open arms, a home cooked meal (Erinn - you are great!) and a stocked refrigerator. The place was spectacular and we were in the jungle! The houses were great! I was a bit hesitant about the 'hardness' of the mattress but slept soundly every night! No need for many blankets given the night time temperature and there were fans if you wanted to use them. The kitchen was stocked well enough for us to cook for our group with no problem. We had a starter pack of coffee, plenty of water and other items to get us on our way! I did take some spices from home and would suggest that just so you don't have the expense of purchasing them. Most time was spent on the very large deck playing cards, laughing and just having plain fun! Our hosts were even able to come play with us! There was plenty of seating, hammocks and room for work outs. Everything needed was provided: tons of information and our hosts were over the top with suggestions and answering any questions. They shared some of their favorite places (Tasty Waves......Briton!) and provided contacts for our needs (cabs, bikes, etc). I can't say enough for the experience! The grounds are meticulous! A lot of love and care has gone into this property. We woke every morning and heard howler monkeys throughout the day. There was the resident Sloth mom (Shirley) with her baby, other sloths, the playful monkeys, goudy's, toucans and all sorts of other animals around! It was amazing! Of course, the dog was the nicest thing ever! We walked, rode bikes all over, some went zip lining, drove the scooter to Panama. Went to Bread and Chocolate for breakfast (AWESOME). Not enough space to keep going! The beaches....Playa Chiquita, Playa Cocles, Punta Uva, Playa Negra..oh my - you can walk forever. Any direction you go is nothing short of beauty! I could rant on and on but here's the simplest message.....GO! The property is great! The people are great! We'll be friends for a lifetime! We will be back! PURA VIDA!!"

  • Troys place is an oasis.

"The yard is fantastic with Tree frogs, poison dart frogs, howler monkeys and a sloth. The kitchen had the essentials to make breakfast before heading out for the day. There is a cute market to buy limited essentials upon arrival and town is a short walk to hit bigger stores if needed.. The reggae bar is a nice place to grab a drink. We did not get to meet Troy but his friend, Cameron was soooooo helpful with information on the area and fixing a small problem with the WiFi and even helping us find a rental car for a day of exploring on our way back to the airport. . I would recommend getting down to Punta Uva for an amazing beach and Manzaillo is also stunning. Cahuita national park just a short walk away is a slice of heaven and you can see howler and capuchin monkeys, sloths, crabs, frogs and amazing lizards. We went more than once. Pura Vida and thank you Troy for letting us stay at your place ."

  • Authentic Caribbean experience

"My family and I stayed at Casa Reloj de Arena for 3 days and we had a blast. The villa is super cozy, has an authentic Caribbean style and decor, and is surrounded by a super well taken care of tropical garden. Moreover, it will only take you 1 minute to walk to Punta Uva beach (through a private path) while enjoying the landscape. Also, the villas's location is super convenient -15 minutes away from Puerto Viejo/Manzanillo. There is a supermarket across the street and several restaurants nearby worth visiting. Finally, the owner was always available on the phone and we were warmly welcomed by the property manager. I am already planning my next visit!"
