  • One of the nicest properties in Central America

"We recently had our family down, and this house met or exceeded all our expectations. Very private property, and a very well laid out mansion on a sea side cliff. This is the sort of home you see in the movies, but never think you would be fortunate enough to stay at. We'll be back again soon !!"

  • Well worth it!

"arrived June 8- June 14, 2016- We were a group of 11, which included 8 adults and 3 kids (4,5, &9). The house was spacious, we used the three bedrooms and the futon in the living room. There were a couple of issues but nothing major. The people are very friendly and the owners especially Cindy are very helpful. The pool is beautiful and is well maintained. We had dinner under the cabana many nights. We also used a local cook Paula and Jerry, they were on time everyday and the food was amazing, also very accommodating. Cindy can provide you with the information. The only draw back is that there were some items in the fridge and cabinets. Which made it hard to store food or keep track of what was our and what wasn't because everyone in our group was buying things. Also there is no clothes dryer, so if you go to the beach everyday and it rains outside the towels do not dry in time to be used the next day. Finally one of the bedrooms does not have a/c, which at night was not too bad but falling asleep at 7 or 8pm in a hot room was difficult but it did cool down during the night. The house more than makes up for those small set backs. The property is really nice, safe and secure. Luis and Carmen are very helpful and Gavello is the maintenance guy but there is no contact information for him listed. We scheduled to have the cleaning lady come in two days but somehow it did not get booked, but Luis was able to get a cleaning lady from the hotel next door. The people in the area are very friendly and everyone is willing to help you, or find you someone that can. I wouldn't mind returning and would definitely recommend the house but with those tips given. Ask the owner for the contact of the person who is supposed to let you in the house before the arrival, they are not on site like other home rentals. Oh I forgot to mention all of the animals, the monkeys came to visit us while we were at the pool.Toucans, black squirrels, and something that liked to scratch on the garage door! LOL!"

  • Pura Vida

"This is a luxury resort home we will stay at many times again! Our mornings were filled with coffee on the porch and the beautiful sounds and sights of nature surrounding us. Not to mention the view of our property for the week! Our evenings were spent enjoying the pool and beautiful sounds again of water and nature. The majestic Sirena Azul was more than we could have asked for. We were close to many pristine beaches, water adventures, fantastic restaurants and local shops, all at our fingertips. This rental property offers a vacation home for an entire family or an intimate location for two. Obviously well maintained with more amenities than even advertised. Definitely a must see! Cannot wait to go back again."

  • Jungle Paradise

"My wife and I stayed in Manuel Antonio for 3 days a few years back and we loved the area so much that we decided to bring a group of friends back in 2017 to share in the experience. Our group of 11 people stayed at the Rising Sun Villa for 11 nights and it could not have been more perfect. The house and grounds are beautiful, spacious, and very well-tended. With 11 people there was still more than enough room to have some privacy and enjoy the surroundings. Sari was very helpful and available to us in our initial planning. This was the first time we’d travelled in such a large group and we spent a good deal of time trying to organize everything. Sari set us up with Oliver at the Hotel Byblos to make sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Jeanette and Winston were wonderful and kept the house and grounds immaculate. We needed to have laundry done a few times due to the length of our stay and Jeanette took care of us; handling a few delicate items, we mistakenly left in the laundry, perfectly. Every day was an amazing adventure. It was really like living in a jungle theme park. We would wake up nearly every morning at sunrise for bird watching, and the array of wildlife was spectacular. We would see Scarlet Macaws, Toucans, Blue Mot Mots, and the local Kiskadees along with many birds we could not easily identify. Each day would bring a new troop of monkeys to the house including Capuchins, Ti Tis, and Howlers. The Capuchins especially were very mischievous but always entertaining. We were also visited by a three toed sloth who took up residence in the bamboo forest off the terrace for a day. We enjoyed trips to the local beaches, hiking through the national park, shopping and eating in the local center, as well as just relaxing at the house and in the pool. Our group also went zip lining in Jaco and deep sea fishing where we caught 4 Sailfish and a large Mahi Mahi. The Mahi provided us with dinner for 2 nights using the outside grill on the terrace. The Hotel Byblos restaurant and bar, as well as the other local restaurants, were all very good and provided us with more than enough variety. I also have to mention the local Café Milagro and their freshly roasted coffee. It is not an exaggeration to say that this was the trip of a lifetime for everyone in our group. The Rising Sun Villa is a magical place in the heart of a very active tropical paradise."
