  • wonderful property, a hidden gem with animals, birds, waterfalls, and very helpful staff

"We started out our first trip to Costa Rica at this house- 4 adults and two granddaughters 6 and 9. We and they loved the house, waking up in the deep forest with animal and birds and their sounds. Peter gave us a great tour of the property ending at the spectacular waterfalls and a swim for everyone- Pura Vida happened immediately. We enjoyed the property so much we didn't venture out to the National Park until our third day. It was super helpful to have Peter meet us at the Super Compro (supermarket in Quepos) and lead us up to the property- after that we had it down and it was easy. Got used to driving on the potholed Costa Rican dirt roads but it was well maintained and no challenge. Our only complaint (from all the group) is that we didn't book enough time there, we liked it so much. Thanks to all who run the house and make it such a great experience."

  • Perfect place for a perfect vacation!

"We recently came back to the Netherlands after a 2 weeks vacation at the Toucan villa. Without a doubt, we had the best vacation ever!!! To start with, the house is absolutely gorgeous. Tastefully decorated, nice interior design, very spacious and has all the amenities (and more) that you need for a very comfortable and luxury stay. Going out into the back yard, there is a HUGE swimming pool. Even with 10 ppl and 6 kids surfing(!!) in the pool, there was still more than enough space. To make it even better, the view from the pool is over acres and acres of prestine rainforest with the Pacific Ocean as the back drop. Paradise!! Walking into the garden on a very well manicured lawn, you are surrounded by various fruit trees, flowers and tropical plants. Our kids loved picking star fruit, lime and mangos. Inside the house, there is a juice machine to make fresh fruit smoothies, yummie!!! Surrounding the garden, there is indeed a very large area of untouched rainforest including a very cool and quite adventurous nature trail. It meant that we got to see and observe (among other animals) toucans, parrots, sloths, butterflies and frogs (that other people pay a lot of money to see in natural parks such as in Manuel Antonio) right in our back yard. Unbelievable! After 2 weeks at the Toucan villa, we decided to travel around Costa Rica for 1 week. While we thoroughly enjoyed this, my husband and I regularly said to each other "yes nice but we saw that in the garden of the Toucan Villa as well". So all in all, this property and it's surrounding areas (with for example the beach within a 20 min drive) offers you all the beauty, fun an adventure that Costa Rica has to offer. If you are worried about security, don't as that is also taken care of with 24 hour security and Jose (property manager) who is available to answer any questions and to help out with any requests. So without hesitation, we would say; for an unforgettable vacation, book this place! Pura Vida."

  • An Amazing House in Paradise

"This luxurious residence helped us have an awesome end to an already great trip to Costa Rica. After spending 4 adventurous days in the Arenal Volcano area, we spent the last 4 days of our trip relaxing in this spacious home in Manuel Antonio. Framed in wall to wall windows, we had a perfect view from every location to see the mountains to our right, the ocean in the distance and every shade of green around us. Sunsets were spectacular! We hardly wanted to leave as it felt like a piece of paradise right there with an elegant infinity pool and the sounds of the water falling to a smaller pool below the main floor. Wildlife surrounded us with many species of birds to view such as hummingbirds, macaws, melodious blackbirds, and Tanager’s. It was common to see black iguanas, lizards and a variety of colorful butterflies. We were lucky to spot a group of squirrel monkeys climbing on a nearby powerline. The AC was a huge plus in the private bedrooms but we opened up every door and window for fresh air with cross ventilation in the main area. Our girls felt they got the best room in the house on the bottom level. It was spa-like with the sounds of the waterfall into the smaller pool outside. All bedrooms were spacious and clean. Vanessa was there to greet us answering questions, getting us food, making reservations for excursions, and kind of at our beck and call. She recommended Chef Xavier for one day to cook meals. The kids all still say this was one of the best days of our trip. They watched him prepare each delicious meal! Well worth every penny. We are ready to go back…Pura Vida!"

  • The best Monteverde housing for big groups

"I recommend the TreeTop House emphatically. We had an unbelievable experience here! Sabine is such a gracious host and we could not have asked for a better location. It's smack dab between the Monteverde Cloud Forest and Monteverde the town, so you can easily get to everything. Sabine made us feel right at home and recommended a lot of restaurants that proved to be some of our favorite meals in Costa Rica. Plus, there's a kitchen in the property so you can save money and cook for yourselves. Sabine was easy to communicate with leading up to the trip, answering all our questions and helping us plan our arrival. She booked a shuttle for us to get to and from the TreeTop House. Once we arrived, Sabine helped us plan our itinerary and figure out which things to do in Monteverde. Besides being in a convenient location, it is also in a beautiful location. The TreeTop House is surrounded by trees and there are few places in Costa Rica as magical as sitting on the hammock and enjoying the view on the upper deck. The house itself has plenty of room for multiple families. It's nice because there are tons of beds for everyone, but it never feels too crowded. You can fit everyone while still enjoying privacy. So if you are coming with big groups or multiple families, this is the place for you. All in all I would tell just about everyone and anyone to come and enjoy this gorgeous home away from home!"
