  • Mariposa Vacation Homes, the only place I'll ever stay at in Santa Teresa.

"This was my second stay at Mariposa Vacation Homes, the first being in Casa Morpho. This time, I brought the family to Casa Yin Yang, the largest of the 3 homes on the property. It has a beautiful layout; open air kitchen, an excellent wooden dining table outside under an all encompassing awning that connects the two structures to give them an "all in one feel". There are multiple master bedrooms and 2 outdoor showers and a large structure housing a dual burner propane grill. From the moment we arrived we were treated like honored guests; Marta, the concierge, met us at the gate and from then on it was a most memorable vacation. Stefan, the owner, called after we were settled in to make sure everything was fine. The housekeepers, Yadira and Jenny are very friendly and kept the house spotless, even with 7 year old twins running amuck. Hector, in charge of maintenance/pool services is super friendly and the saltwater pool was always perfectly refreshing under his care. What more can I say? 5 stars for everything, especially the personal service we received, and even though we were there during the rainy season, it never hindered our fun; we surfed, zip lined in the jungle canopy, went horseback riding on the beach, waded in tide pools, listened to the geckos in the evening and chased iguanas and hermit crabs during the day, we cooked in and ate out. The zip line and horseback riding was arranged by Marta, and they couldn't have gone smoother. I'll be back in December for another surf trip!"

  • The perfect snowbird vacation

"From the moment of our arrival, we knew we were in for a vacation treat. The bungalow was in a quiet section of the community and yet we were minutes away from the pool, beach or road into town. The bungalow was well appointed and we enjoyed making it our home away from home for a month. The master bedroom was spacious and had a nice closet with plenty of hangers and a chest of drawers that was ample for all our clothes. The master bath was lovely and had lots of space to store our personal items. We enjoyed how close we were to downtown Hermosa and walked into town to enjoy breakfast or lunch. We also walked down to the Hotel Tramondo and they have excellent food and service there as well. Our manager, Brian, was always friendly and took care of any questions or problems satisfactorily for us. We rented a car from Brian and used it to do lots of sightseeing up and down the coast. The community pool and lanai were perfect and we enjoyed many card games at the table under the lanai. In the evenings, we enjoyed watching DVD movies provided for us...several of which we had never seen before. We would recommend this beautiful bungalow and location to anyone wanting to relax, enjoy the ocean, and be centrally located to sight see the area."

  • Absolutely Great!

"Casa Dulce is great, the best place to stay in the area. We have been staying here for the past 10 years and plan to keep coming back. The house is located in a great location. It is located on the beach with great surfing and fishing. The owner is very responsive and accommodating. The property is clean and well cared for. The caretaker will assist with anything that is needed. We recommend Casa Dulce to everyone going to Costa Rica. Absolutely Great!!!"

  • Magic on the Osa Peninsula

"We loved our time at Casa Sonrisa! Because this particular house sits back a bit on the hill, I think we saw even more wildlife than those closer to the beach although the view of the Golfo Dulce was beautiful too. Case Sonrisa backs up to an area that could almost be considered a monkey playground! We saw 4 types of monkeys and were given an especially funny show by the spider monkeys! The house was very comfortable and we were thankful that William was able to provide an extra mattress and mosquito net for one of our kids. The kitchen was beautifully outfitted with everything needed for a 4 day stay. I am glad that we shopped in town and brought so much food with us from Pavones because the road to Puerto Jimenez was awful and I wouldn't have wanted to drive it any more than needed. The thunder and lightening storms were amazing to watch from the open area living space! We surfed morning and evening sessions and loved that we could just walk to Playa Pan Dulce and then follow trails to other breaks. I got some of my favorite surfing pictures of our whole time in Costa Rica one evening. The houses are fit with radios that can contact the owners, William and several of the local restaurants. This came in especially handy when one of our kids left his insulin pack at Lapa Rios. We were able to call around and locate the pack and then go pick it up right away! We will definitely come back and stay again!"
