  • Awesome Place - great staff

"Melvin picked us up at the airport and had cold beers waiting for us. The staff met us at the house and were super attentive and kept the place spotless. Catherine and Emlio were great and made us some really good meals- I would highly recommend getting breakfast made every day. Keep in mind that the property is a little off the beaten path and it takes about 15 to 20 minutes to get to Jaco by cab. However, the place is so big and the property is so nice we spent a lot of time at the house. The place has Internet and you can plug your phone into the speaker system for music out by the pool. Prepare for an insanely steep driveway when you get there. However upon arrival at the top of the mountain where the house is, the views are breathtaking. I would note that the beach if not necessarily in walking distance but rather a short five minute drive down the hill to Playa Hermosa. Keep in mind that the waves at Playa Hermosa are quite sizable, so if you plan on going surfing and you've never done it before I wouldn't recommend starting out here. I tried to go out there for my second time and didn't last very long. If you are going to get liquor to bring to the place I would suggest getting it at the airport, because the stores in Jaco really didn't have much. There's plenty to do in Jaco. Also, don't bother getting the local currency, everyone will take American dollars if you have them. We took a day and Melvin drove us to Manuel Antonio national Park where we went zip lining and also did a wave Runner tour. That was well worth the trip. Angelo's place was really nice and we plan to go back next year. One last thing for anyone planning to come down here. Don't bother packing any longsleeve shirts or any closed toe shoes. All we needed to go out was shorts and T-shirts and flip-flops. It was at least 90° every day and very hot at night as well. Some of the restaurants in Jaco did not even have air-conditioning. So pack light, you certainly don't need to wear a lot of clothing in Costa Rica!"

  • Beatiful beach front property perfect vacation

"This was simply put, a truly amazing vacation for our group. The Blue Macaw was much better than we anticipated! The property is huge and the layout is perfect. All rooms were nicely furnished with air conditioning and very comfortable bedding The bathrooms were spacious and clean. The swimming pool is resort sized and fit 18 of us with room for 20 more. There is a private beach entry off the back of the property which made getting on and off the beach and the surf easy. The location was perfect as well, with downtown Jaco center being only a 4 minute taxi ride. Taxis were very east to get 24/7 and cheap. We were assigned 2 concierges by the hosting company Jaco VIP ( Lila and Maria) and they made sure we got to where we needed to go and were a hge help in organizing our activities, making sure we never ran out of ice, beer, or groceries, and saved us a lot of time and hassle. We also hired private chef service through the Jaco VIP company which turned out to be a good decision as our chef (Manuel) shopped for all the food we needed and cooked some pretty amazing dishes every day. Breakfast , Dinner and a BBQ our pool party we threw that Saturday with a DJ and bartender. I recommend Blue Macaw to anyone and everyone looking to have a really awesome vacation in Costa Rica. We'll be back without a doubt."

  • Perfect for a family of 4

"Excellent choice for our family with 2 teenage boys (16 & 19). Close enough to all the Jaco action for the boys & far enough away for Mom and Dad :). Great set up on the ground floor for access to the pool & BBQ & beach. We'll equipped for cooking at home. Loved the sun screens on the patio. Nice small friendly complex. Make sure you meet Alejandro (office on top of the gatehouse) he's very helpfull with any requests you may have, any issues with the unit, reservations, shuttles, advice etc. Good value for the money Tours recommended: Costa Rica waterfall adventures, Rainforest zip lining, Tortuga surf school"

  • Great condo with full resort amenities at Crocs!

"We stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The condo is great. Plenty of space and very comfortable. It was perfect for our family of 4. Eileen was very helpful and the list of recommendations was spot on. Graffiti, Lemon Zest, Amancio's, and the Green Room were highlights. We booked a day to Tortuga Island through lost beach and would do it again. Our rental car was perfect as we went down to Quepos one day to white water raft (I highly recommend) and another day to go on the Monkey Tour and Manuel Antonio park. We did not have a bad meal in Jaco and had fun in the city. We enjoyed the Croc's pool and service at the resort. This was the perfect setup - a great condo with plenty of space, with a full resort to use next door. We did not take him up on the offer since we stocked the fridge, but our pool waiter from Croc's offered to deliver food and drinks to the condo. The beach is really dark, but still nice and we spent time in the water. Thanks Eileen (and Joe) - we had a fantastic family vacation."
