  • Great Option...not over-priced

"Just returned from 1 week in Jaco. We selected this location given the fair nightly rate, ample bedrooms and proximity to beach and town. Overall the house was perfect for our needs. Could use some updating, but we weren't expecting ultra modern finishes. It felt authentic Costa Rican :) The inside was clean and well-maintained. The outside could have used some TLC, but from what we were told...we came after the rainy season so it is normal to spend this time of year cleaning up. Pool was quaint. The dolphin fountain was not working. We didn't have kids with us, but this might disappoint others. Regardless, we very much took advantage of the little resort across the street. It is adorable and is located right on the beach. We ate in their restaurant about 5 times during our visit...always a good experience and good food. I would definitely consider renting this home again if we returned to Jaco. The owner, Les, could not have been nicer. You can tell that he is fully committed to his guests' satisfaction and we had no issues during the reservation process. Also, Fernan, was super helpful when we arrived. We utilized his services for a trip into Manuel Antonio, ATV excursion and transfer back to the airport. Fair pricing and you can trust him! My travel tips- a longer walking distance into town than what we expected, but taxi was only only $3-4. Be sure to visit Playa Hermosa (just a cpl miles away from the house) and watch the surfers just before sunset. Some cute little restaurants there too. Manuel Antonio is a MUST! This is where you will see monkeys, sloths, etc. Take a walk up the trail behind this house if you're feeling adventurous. The view from the abandoned restaurant/hotel on top is stunning! Visit Villa Calletas one evening for Happy Hour and watch the sunset. This hotel and view will blow your mind!! (About a $20 taxi). Note that the 2 bedroom and bathroom upstairs dont have floor to ceiling walls...you can hear just about everything between the rooms upstairs. This didn't bother us as we were all family...but just bear that in mind. This property is a great value and you won't have any challenges with the owner or property management."

  • Beautiful Sunsets

"The condo was well located and equipped (some oven mitts would be helpful :)). All initial problems were quickly and efficiently solved. We loved the beach and gorgeous sunsets. It is located close to Jaco where you can find a grocery store and a number of great restaurants. It was a great location for our group - 55+, but it is also great for families. We would recommend the Crocodile River Tour and a visit to the Rainmaker- a private park with suspension bridges and accessible waterfall pool!"

  • Most beautiful, comfortable condo ever!

"We have just completed our second trip to Costa Rica; we love the country and the people! We also love Steve Hooven's condo in Jaco and would not think of staying elsewhere. The unit is absolutely beautiful and has everything you'd ever need....luxurious linens, dishes, blender, hair dryers, etc. Our favorite part is the view from the deck....we begin every morning with coffee watching the surfers, spend the days hanging around the beautiful pool, and end every day with cocktails watching the sunset. The condo is just one block from Jaco's main strip....great shopping, great spas, great restaurants--breakfast at Rustico, dinner at Graffitti,, Lemon Zest, Malecon, Kaya, and Adventure Dining. There is so much to do....rent a car and take day trips....tour the beautiful Villa Vanilla, experience a sunset at Los Calletas, take a trip to Tortuga Island, spend a beach day on Playa Hermosa or on the Whale's Tail Beach and so much more to do. Best of all you will have the owner, Steve Hooven, and his property manager, Aracelly to welcome you, to answer questions and to help line up day trips. Rent this unit NOW! You will not be sorry. The only downside is you will want to stay longer!!!!!!"
