  • Loved this condo

"My husband and I, along with our 5 and 7 year old boys, stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. Thanks to Adriana who was our local point of contact, we had no issues finding the place, parking in the secured parking area, and she met us there right on time to let us in to our unit and show us around. She offered to set up any tours we were interested in but chose to create our own itinerary which worked well for us. The condo was clean and laid out well for the 4 of us. The kitchen was well stocked with all the items we needed to make breakfast each morning and having the washer and dryer there was helpful. We chose this condo specifically because of the ground floor location and are glad we did. We could eat out on the patio and watch our boys swim in the pools that were right there in front of us. Just on that pool deck, we saw 3 different types of large lizards, various birds, frogs and even some crabs. The boys borrowed boogie boards from the office and spent many hours in the waves, just in front of the complex. We walked along the beach in to town one day for lunch. With the 5 year old, it was a 25 minute walk, but our lunch at Taco Bar made the walk worth it. The only negative item to note is that the exterior windows and doors are not tightly sealed so any noise from the pool deck or near by balconies can be heard from inside the condo. Everyone we met staying at the complex was friendly and relatively respectful of the sound level though so we didn't have any big issues with this. If you are considering this as a place to stay in Jaco Beach, that is not right near the busy downtown, I would 100% suggest booking it!"

"Nicely decorated condo - calming turquoise with fun colors. Can easily walk to many restaurants, shops, grocery stores and the beach. Great to watch the sunset at the beach. We enjoyed our week."

  • Terrific Find

"We loved our stay at Sonidos Del Mar! The south end of the beach is less crowded and one block away was perfect. We could hear the waves but the privacy of the house is ideal. The property and house are amazingly beautiful with everything you need. The architectural touches of curved walls, inset handmade tiles and glass, exotic wood, original paintings and the waterfall in the pool were much appreciated. Laurie, the owner was very helpful making our arrangements and giving us suggestions of things to do in the area. Mario (the driver) was accommodating as well and always on time. Jan (the property manager) was fantastic setting up our tours, answering questions, and providing information. Our favorite tour was white water rafting on the Sevegre River. It was a blast complete with white water, swimming, waterfalls, breakfast, snacks and lunch. Sunset at Villa Calentes was spectacular and definitely worth the drive up the hill. Zip lining was a fun adventure and we all tried one platform upside down! My husband went fly-fishing (Jan arranged it with a local fly-fisherman) close to the border of Nicaragua and caught machaca. We hiked Miro Mountain but go very early because it gets so hot. Nice views and artwork along the way along with fascinating graffiti at the abandoned restaurant. We did fine without renting a car. We planned down days staying at the pool and the beach, boogie boarding and swimming when there was no need for a car. We could walk to town for dinner and take a cab back for a few dollars. We used the kitchen and barbeque often and enjoyed sitting outside on the porch for meals under the fans. There were few bugs and docile iguanas and lizards in the tropical gardens surrounding the house. I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Jaco, Costa Rica."
