  • Mariposa Vacation Homes, the only place I'll ever stay at in Santa Teresa.

"This was my second stay at Mariposa Vacation Homes, the first being in Casa Morpho. This time, I brought the family to Casa Yin Yang, the largest of the 3 homes on the property. It has a beautiful layout; open air kitchen, an excellent wooden dining table outside under an all encompassing awning that connects the two structures to give them an "all in one feel". There are multiple master bedrooms and 2 outdoor showers and a large structure housing a dual burner propane grill. From the moment we arrived we were treated like honored guests; Marta, the concierge, met us at the gate and from then on it was a most memorable vacation. Stefan, the owner, called after we were settled in to make sure everything was fine. The housekeepers, Yadira and Jenny are very friendly and kept the house spotless, even with 7 year old twins running amuck. Hector, in charge of maintenance/pool services is super friendly and the saltwater pool was always perfectly refreshing under his care. What more can I say? 5 stars for everything, especially the personal service we received, and even though we were there during the rainy season, it never hindered our fun; we surfed, zip lined in the jungle canopy, went horseback riding on the beach, waded in tide pools, listened to the geckos in the evening and chased iguanas and hermit crabs during the day, we cooked in and ate out. The zip line and horseback riding was arranged by Marta, and they couldn't have gone smoother. I'll be back in December for another surf trip!"

  • Amazing...did I mention how Amazing?

"First let me state that I have used many rentals through some sort of Rental by owner website and Daniel is by the far the most helpful, patient and kind owner we have rented from thus far. Though we were not able to meet him (booo, I wanted to thank him in person) he is a fantastic host. Thank you for everything. Now to the Villa, the pictures do not do this place justice. We rented this home to be the location for our 10-year wedding anniversary/vow renewal ceremony and I'm so glad I didn't go with a modern/Hollywood style beach home. This is pure Costa Rican Art/Architecture. We are spending 7 days here (yes still here) and our group( 5 adults) is simply amazed by this home. The pictures cannot show how large and beautiful each bedroom is, the staircase leading to each bedroom is something you would see out of a movie. Each bedroom has a private bath and shower, plus there is one on the lower level by the outdoor shower for when you are spending time by the pool or cooking in the kitchen. I am an avid cook and the kitchen was amazing. I was very impressed with the high quality cuisinart pots and pans with a layer of copper heat distribution. This is a major plus for those who love to cook. The views are amazing from all angles. You fall asleep to the sounds of various birds and awake to the howler monkeys in the distance. You will be visited by iguanas, bats, and insects but don't be discouraged..It's all part of being surrounded by jungle. Please be diligent with the compost bucket and garbage can. His property is beautiful with amazing tropical plants plus a greenhouse and the compost is needed. The hill to the house is beyond steep but we rented ATVs from Pacific Dirt Roads and had no problems going up the driveway in 2nd or 3rd gear. Lola and Carlos are wonderful staff and you will be truly amazed by this home, host, staff, the residential dogs who would followed me everywhere (Ray) especially, and the views. Please book..You will not be disappointed. One last thing, if you are worried about no AC, don't..being on a hill, with massive windows and the fans will keep you cool all night and sleep like a baby. Thank you again Daniel for everything, you and your home are both truly amazing. Pura Vida!!!"

  • Beautiful condo! Can't wait to go back!

"My husband and 2 kids stayed at this condo in May of this year and don't have one thing bad to say about it! The condo was located in the middle of town and within walking distance to everything. We are already planning to go again in December! Thanks again so much for letting us stay in your home and inviting us to stay again! We can't wait!"

  • Burton's 40th Celebration

"We wanted to spend time with our best friend on his 40th birthday celebration so we decided a trip to Costa Rica was in order. When looking for accommodations, we wanted something that could provide us with great views, comfortable living, and proximity to some of the best that the country has to offer. Casa Las Terrazas was able to provide those requirements and more. The house is situated on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Costa Ballena (the Whale's Tail) and the views are amazing. Recent renovations provided plush accommodations and everyone felt completely comfortable in our time at the house. The jungle came right up to the property and provided for lush flora and fauna. Bugs were manageable, the internet was non-existent (don't expect to plug-in while at the house), the road to the house was one of the best we have seen on a property like this, the Jolly Roger was a fun escape. Overall we had an amazing time and would recommend the house to anyone that is potentially heading down to Domincal/Uvita area of CR. Pura Vida!"
