  • A little heaven on earth

"The bungalow, the grounds, the beach were wonderful, breathtaking beautiful, but the most outstanding aspect of Tulemar Bungalows is the staff! Starting with our on-line concierge, Alvaro, to the staff at reception, the drivers of the shuttle buses and the beach manager. Ending with our personal concierge, Andres, who seemed like magic as he made our last minute requests possible!"

  • Amazing views, spectacular condo!

"This is an amazing property. The first thing to mention is the stunning ocean views from the family room and each of the three bedrooms. The location will never disappoint. The condo was well equipped and the owners Kerwin and Lisa were very responsive when setting up the reservations and answered all questions. There is a local manager Willy who will help with arranging any tours you want to enjoy, such as fishing etc. We caught fish one day (4 Spanish Mackerel) and brought it to a local restaurant (La Luna) for their preparation. They made ceviche with it and also grilled the rest. It was the best meal we had there. Just amazing and La Luna has a great location with views. There was plenty of fish left which we prepared in the condo for tacos the next evening. We had a party of eight and the condo was plenty big for us all. The only problem we had was water pressure at times, but whenever we reported it, it was fixed after a few minutes. I would easily stay here again as it is one of the most beautiful locations for a hotel I ever stayed at. Oh and concerning wildlife, we saw a couple monkeys and sloths near the hotel and during our 5 minute walk downhill to the local beach. It was a great little beach, but the water wasn't too clear for snorkeling, although I saw some fish near the rocks, but as mentioned clarity is lacking there. Take a trip 30 mins south to Dominical and head inland to the Nauyaca waterfalls. You can hike in or take horseback. It is worth it. Horseback ride is only $70 US per person and includes a breakfast and lunch midway in both directions. Horses were very nice and well kept. We didn't see too much wildlife on that trip, but if you head into Manuel Antonio State Park, you will see plenty there. We saw 3 monkey types, a coati, iquanas, peccary, vine snake and pesky raccoons that will snatch your food from your bags right next to you. This time of year (with locals on vacation too) the park is very busy and be prepared to be around some crowds. This place will not disappoint! Last comment, the restaurant at the hotel is good, but is a bit pricey. Better options are out and about nearby concerning pricing."

  • Relaxing, beautiful and lots of wildlife

"We really enjoyed our stay at this property near Manuel Antonio. It's located about halfway between the small town of Quepos and Manuel Antonio national park. The unit is not fancy, but comfortable and nicely decorated with lots of wood providing a warm feel. The upstairs bedroom is very large, but the downstairs is small with just room for a full-size bed. It was fine for my wife and I and our two daughters. It has two patios (a large one downstairs with a BBQ and a smaller one off the upstairs bedroom). Katherine was a very nice hostess. She lives nearby and is available to help with anything you need. The complex is lush and spread out. We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The pool is very nice and there are fruit trees (mango, papaya, coconut, starfruit, plantain) throughout. The best thing was the abundant wildlife. We saw squirrel monkeys (and fed them by hand, although I suppose we weren't supposed to), white-faced monkeys, iguanas, and macaws. I was even woken up from an afternoon nap by banging on the window. When I looked to see what the commotion was, there was a pair of toucans on the balcony. We found a great hiking trail through the jungle nearby with giant bamboo and a waterfall. We went to El Avion (a restaurant built around an old airplane) twice. It has a great view and we dined with sloths just off the restaurant balcony on our second trip. We would definitely recommend this to family and friends."

  • Beautiful house!

"We loved Casa Sophia. I was there with my husband, our 10 month old and my in laws. The layout of the house is great (especially if you have young children or are with older adults). It's absolutely beautiful in person (and spotless). The pool and pool deck were very nice. We had daily visits from the monkeys, and there was a sloth outside of the living room on one of the trees as well. Aside from this being a wonderful place to stay, Vanessa from Manuel Antonio Properties was fantastic to work with from before we arrived to during our stay. She was available for any questions, she helped with airport transportation, beach and restaurant recommendations, etc. I highly recommend Casa Sophia and Manuel Antonio Properties. We will definitely be back!"
