"This house was perfect for our family of 5. The view is worth the walk. The caretaker, Bismark, was so kind and helpful. It's comforting that he lives very close to the house. Beds were nice; kitchen was user friendly. The outside shower was perfect. House was nicely stocked with games, books, and useful picture cards for local animals. We saw tons of animals from the decks - monkeys, toucans, hummingbirds, etc. We enjoyed Bismark's dogs which hung out and made things feel like home. We had a 4x4 and were able to drive down to a beach just below the house (you can park on the beach). House had a small cooler, a few beach chairs and great beach towels. There was a second beach a short drive or walk below the house where you can pay someone a small amount to watch your car while you enjoy the beach. We saw a few sloths here and we rented snorkel gear at this beach. (Snorkeling was just ok here and one of my kids stepped on a sea urchin, but that has nothing to do with the house review). Bottom line, you cannot go wrong with this place. It's in a little community of other houses where you feel close to people (which is sometimes comforting in a foreign country), but it is also private. It was hot as fire while we were there, but there were several fans around the house. It's the ULTIMATE coffee or wine on the deck kind of place. I wish I was there right now!"

111 was the ideal vacation retreat...thank goodness because it rained the whole time!
"Tulemar was lovely and unit 111 was spic and span clean, stylish and the perfect retreat for our rainy, rainy, rainy! week in Costa Rica. We visited several resorts for meals and drinks and we were so glad we chose Tulemar, even though the others had their pluses. Best of all at Tulemar was the private beach with friendly staff to assist with anything ie. free kayaks, towels, etc. David-- the beach manager-- was so friendly and just wonderful. And our housekeeper, Sondra, did an excellent job. Frank, our concierge, wasn't anyone to rave about. As he showed us our unit upon arrival & we asked questions, he seemed disinterested, unless we wanted to book activities through him. VRBO/Tulemar said the concierge would be "checking in on us" during our stay, and we never heard a word from him after checking in. Considering it was pouring rain 5 out of the 7 days, it may have been nice of him to give us a text to perhaps suggest some rainy day activities. We found our own eventually, including the mangrove tour, which was in a covered boat so the rain wasn't an issue."

"Condo was very roomy for our family of 7! Love the nearby beach you can walk to. Pool was awesome too. Quick walk up the hill if you don't mind the mile. We took taxis too and our tours were booked through Alex, the condo manager. Highly recommend the zip line tour - so amazing! You will see monkeys here! Only suggestion is providing a colander In the kitchen."

"Yes, we had to name or "guard dog" at Villa Titi! This place was fantastic, we really had a great time. Iguanas about, monkeys in the trees and numerous other creatures complete the beautiful grounds. All the basic amenities you would need are at Villa Titi. The adjacent hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, but we were fortunate enough to be spoiled by Rosa to book our excursions. Nearby there are many restaurants to choose from, our favorite being El Avion, just across the street. The perfect place for a meal, or just a drink to sit out a thundershower. Also, we would recommend Gaia Hotel and Restaurant for a cocktail, dinner and a panoramic sunset view. We had a rental car half of the time, but the rest we relied on the ease of the buses and taxis. Lack of sidewalks can be a bit of a challenge, especially in the evening, but use your phone flashlight of bring one. Our tours were all brilliant! Rafting, zip-lining and catamaran. What a wonderful vacation, we have many fond memories and hope to return someday.
