"Our family of six had an incredible time staying here at Villa Manuel Antonio!
Let me first say that while searching, I messaged the owner, Laurent, and asked him about public transportation availability and ease as one of my sons is on crutches. Laurent called me to let me know that the transportation was fine, but that there were stairs to our floor since we were looking at the lowest level with a small yard for my children to run around in and search for lizards. He was concerned that my son would not be able to do the stairs and wanted to let me know before I booked the villa. He sent me pictures that he took of the stairs and we decided my son would be fine and continued with our booking. It was nice to see that Laurent's concern was for our comfort and enjoyment, even at the risk of us looking elsewhere if we felt our son would have difficulty on the stairs.
So, back to the review... Our villa was located on the lowest level with a small yard and a view of the Pacific and the national park. The two bedrooms have king beds and there is a fold out couch in the living room. The bathrooms are large and the villa is a great place to stay. The kitchen comes with all the hardware for preparing meals yourself. The pool also has a nice view and our kids enjoyed swimming in it. During the morning it is in the sunshine, but after lunch it begins to get some shade to offer respite from the heat of the day. Our kids enjoyed the pool everyday. We also saw monkeys, a sloth, numerous birds and some colorful lizards while at the villa.
The location is phenomenal. Perched on a hilltop but only steps to the bus that runs to beaches and the park in one direction, and Quepos in the other. There is no need to rent a car, just take the bus. Taxis were also easy to hail. There are also restaurants nearby (try the Falafel Bar), as well as a Bank of Costa Rica, Economy Car Rental and a small convenience store. There was not a lot of walking to these places so it was perfect for our son. It really is an ideal location for getting to wherever you need to go.
As for Laurent, he stays on the property which is such a big help for finding whatever you need. He arranges tours and transportation to San Jose or wherever. He can point you in the right direction for food, groceries or any other needs. He is very friendly and a delight to talk with. It was our pleasure to meet him.
We highly recommend booking your stay with Villa Manuel Antonio. You won't regret it!"

"This house was perfect for our family of 5. The view is worth the walk. The caretaker, Bismark, was so kind and helpful. It's comforting that he lives very close to the house. Beds were nice; kitchen was user friendly. The outside shower was perfect. House was nicely stocked with games, books, and useful picture cards for local animals. We saw tons of animals from the decks - monkeys, toucans, hummingbirds, etc. We enjoyed Bismark's dogs which hung out and made things feel like home. We had a 4x4 and were able to drive down to a beach just below the house (you can park on the beach). House had a small cooler, a few beach chairs and great beach towels. There was a second beach a short drive or walk below the house where you can pay someone a small amount to watch your car while you enjoy the beach. We saw a few sloths here and we rented snorkel gear at this beach. (Snorkeling was just ok here and one of my kids stepped on a sea urchin, but that has nothing to do with the house review). Bottom line, you cannot go wrong with this place. It's in a little community of other houses where you feel close to people (which is sometimes comforting in a foreign country), but it is also private. It was hot as fire while we were there, but there were several fans around the house. It's the ULTIMATE coffee or wine on the deck kind of place. I wish I was there right now!"

"We had the best family vacation ever!! We were celebrating our 40th anniversary with our children and wanted to have a very special place to celebrate....and we found it!! When we arrived we could not believe it was all real. The breathtaking views were spectacular!! The home, the privacy, and the staff was just amazing. Every aspect of booking this vacation was flawless! Sani was absolutely priceless!!! He arranged pick up and drop off at the airport. Greeted us when we arrived, took us grocery shopping and site seeing the next day, and gave us restaurant and adventure tips. And talked me into going river rafting...with much hesitation on my part. HaHa! Sani arranged the tour, came with us, and we had the time of our life! When we finished the tour the crew had taken some amazing pictures. Javier, the onsite care taker was wonderful also, arranged all of our cabs, entertained us with the monkeys, toucans, sloths, and iguanas. The location was great as we were able to walk to restaurants and grocery store, and the beach. We had the wonderful time and look forward to coming back someday. Thank you for providing this beautiful home and service!"
