We loved it!
"We were here at Casa Barba Roja with a family of nine adults and one three year old, for a week. We all loved it here, and had such a wonderful time! The property was beautiful, nestled right in the jungle with so much wildlife around. The pool was great, and the view was amazing, perfect for sunsets. The house was perfectly suited for us too. It was a treat to have a maid clean up and do laundry for us, and Josue the concierge was a wonderful help with anything we needed, and set up any excursions etc for us. The house was close to the main road, although the property feels very private and secluded from any busyness. The local buses and taxis were right there to bring you anywhere in the area, from the beaches of Manuel Antonio to the harbour or shopping in Quepos, and very inexpensive. What was expensive were the convenience stores near the house, but they were convenient! We took a quick cab ride to Quepos for groceries. We were sad to leave, especially because it was back to the snow. But we can keep the memories of a wonderful week together in a beautiful place!"

"I didn't think this would be the case, but the pictures actually do not do the villa justice!!! What a great vacation we had over Christmas 2016! The house is in a beautiful setting, overlooking the Pacific and surrounded by the jungle. While you can see a lot of incredible wildlife at nearby Manuel Antonio park, we saw some of the most amazing things right from the poolside! From sloths, to 3 different types of monkeys, toucans, and a huge variety of birds ... all while floating around in the pool. There are lots of good restaurants around and a couple of small supermarkets on top of the hill. The path near the house that heads to the beach is steep (especially going back up), but it brings you to the best end of the beach where there are great waves to play in, and palm trees to relax under. I won't deny that there was a lot of walking up steep hills, but using the pools or the ocean to cool off in is just awesome! You can also avoid climbing back up to the house from the beach by catching a local bus (for 60 cents) up to the top of the hill, then walking down to the villa. We did this when we were feeling lazy :) . Chris, the concierge, was super helpful and one of the friendliest Costa Ricans you'll ever meet. I highly recommend this villa. We were a large family group, and it was nice to have this villa as our starting point for adventures in the area, and for some quality family time."

"I booked Casa de las Cascades for my 40th birthday and could not be happier with my decision. I travelled with 8 friends and the home worked perfectly. The house itself is architecturally stunning and very comfortable. The rooms are clean and simple and the fact that all rooms are en suite is a real plus. The house was equipped with everything we needed and although I had never been to Costa Rica before I thought the location was perfect. It was a short cab ride to restaurants, beaches, nightlife, etc.
One of the best things about the house is the fact that the staff (and our concierge Vanessa) was beyond accommodating. Prior to our arrival she helped book excursions, dinners for nine, transportation, and even stocked the house with some essentials and wine. A lot of wine. Throughout the trip she was extremely responsive and helped with our many requests (ice, more wine, restaurant suggestions, etc.). Everything was completely seamless. We had a chef (Rodger) come and prepare breakfast most days and had one nice dinner at home that was great (and affordable) as well. Rodger and his team were amazing as well.
Manuel Antonio is gorgeous and I can't recommend it enough. I would return to Casa de las Cascades in a second. The photos do not do justice to the views, the simple luxury of the home, or importantly the warmth of the folks who helped make my birthday so great at every point of the journey."
