Recent Manuel Antonio reviews
"Dear Ken and Kim, thank you so much for allowing us into your home, Casa Pura Paz is named perfectly. These 5 days Betsy and I spent with you were absolutely the most relaxing least stressful days for us in year's. For anyone considering visiting the Manuel Antonio area, I would strongly recommend
Pura Paz! Every aspect of my visit exceeded expectations. The house was exactly as it looked online, except it looks 10 times better in person. You can be as active as you want to be or just stare at the view off the deck all day. The national park is a great outing, but you will see all the wildlife right off the porch! The scenery of the surrounding area is nothing short of spectacular, there are too many outstanding restaurants to name and all of them are minutes from the house. One of the many highlights of our visit was the day trip with Jose, having a casual lunch on his farm provided a real glimpse into the culture of Costa Rica. We will be repeat visitors!
Thank you again.

"Several of the reviews for this property convinced me to rent the place for a few nights. To tell the truth, it's a amazing. The bungalow is not only on a private property, isolated -but very close- to the local shops and restaurants of Manuel Antonio. It is also amidst the jungle! The sound of the local fauna will gently wake you up, and the rain on the shingles rooftop at night will provide a relaxing sleep. Everything was in working order too, well-maintained and we had room cleaning service every day. The place has also a secluded beach, where the kids had a blast with the kayaks, the boogie boards, the hermit crabs, the monkeys and the sloths - yes, all in the beach. The staff was very helpful and attentive at all times. Julie from the rental company also was great in her response times and was a deciding factor for us to choose this place. This is one of the few places I would most likely stay at again!"

"The only negative thing I can say about the trip was the travel day (and I'm only complaining because I had a cranky 19 Month old with me). Other than that, the family jungle house was everything we imagined and more. The house was larger than I had expected, with each couple having their own room (and bathroom). The service was spectacular. The owner, Heather, was very helpful and accessible. She responds to emails within minutes. I would recommend using Josue, the concierge, for everything and anything. He was extremely accommodating, and always answered his phone. He set us up with a few excursions including zip-lining, a catamaran trip, and also took us on a tour of the national park. He really wanted to make sure we enjoyed our trip, and reached out to us almost daily to make sure we were ok. Roxana's cooking was second to none. We were very surprised at how good the Costa Rican cuisine was when we went out to eat, but Roxana's meals trumped everything we had at restaurants. She made enough food to feed a small army, and it was a lot less expensive than going out for meals. She handled everything else with us barely knowing she was there.
I thought the best part of the house was the pool. After going to the beach all day, it was a really nice treat to come back and use the pool to cool off. It was clean, the slide was amazing, and the 3 different levels allowed everyone to enjoy it (including the baby) thoroughly. The pool was cleaned and maintained 3 times while we were there. The house has a security system which was a nice feature as well.
This house was recommended to me by a friend, who told me it was paradise...I would agree and recommend this to anyone who wants a relaxing and fun vacation."

"We enjoyed staying in this typical Tico bungalow. The view is beautiful. We could see so much vegetation and the ocean. The yard is lovely and filled with animals. We went to sleep and woke up to the sounds of birds. We even saw a sloth just down the road. The outdoor shower is great for rinsing off sandy feet. The house was clean and met our needs. It looks like the pictures posted. We had to get comfortable with the lack of glass windows however having the screens provided wonderful breezes and made us feel part of the landscape. The bed is comfortable and the kitchen has everything we needed. There are plenty of towels and two beach chairs. The house is secure with an alarm, safe and good lighting. The internet would go on and off which required us to keep resetting it. Our host Rebecca is wonderful. She has a full book with the house information and local tours and activities. She arranged several guided tours at the National Forest and Butterfly Garden. She told us the best place to park for the beach and where to eat. The house is centrally located and stores, restaurants and pharmacy are within walking distance. This is also a draw back since the road is very noisy and traffic continued until about 10 pm as well as the music at the bar across the street. We learned to adjust. Costa Rica is a beautiful country. We really enjoyed our visit."
