  • Best vacation getaway ever!

"Thirteen of us stayed at Casa Las Brisas, and all of us want to go back! It was by far the most enjoyable time we've ever had. The villa was everything we expected and more. Our chefs, Marco and his assistant, Jorge, were more than willing to cook anything we wanted, and they did! The food was five star, cooked to perfection, and always more than we could eat. No one ever went hungry! Marta, our housekeeper, was over the top accommodating and made us all feel special and so welcome. We became so close to them, it was really sad to leave. Our host, Ricky, scheduled whatever activity we were interested in, from ziplining to parasailing, to catamaran trips, you name it, we did it, and he made it easy. We all agree that we would love to go back. Not just to Costa Rica, but to Casa Las Brisas and the wonderful staff!"

  • "Boris" the Iguana at Villa Titi!

"Yes, we had to name or "guard dog" at Villa Titi! This place was fantastic, we really had a great time. Iguanas about, monkeys in the trees and numerous other creatures complete the beautiful grounds. All the basic amenities you would need are at Villa Titi. The adjacent hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, but we were fortunate enough to be spoiled by Rosa to book our excursions. Nearby there are many restaurants to choose from, our favorite being El Avion, just across the street. The perfect place for a meal, or just a drink to sit out a thundershower. Also, we would recommend Gaia Hotel and Restaurant for a cocktail, dinner and a panoramic sunset view. We had a rental car half of the time, but the rest we relied on the ease of the buses and taxis. Lack of sidewalks can be a bit of a challenge, especially in the evening, but use your phone flashlight of bring one. Our tours were all brilliant! Rafting, zip-lining and catamaran. What a wonderful vacation, we have many fond memories and hope to return someday. Cheers, Randall and Rob - Seattle, WA, USA"

  • Amazing views, spectacular condo!

"This is an amazing property. The first thing to mention is the stunning ocean views from the family room and each of the three bedrooms. The location will never disappoint. The condo was well equipped and the owners Kerwin and Lisa were very responsive when setting up the reservations and answered all questions. There is a local manager Willy who will help with arranging any tours you want to enjoy, such as fishing etc. We caught fish one day (4 Spanish Mackerel) and brought it to a local restaurant (La Luna) for their preparation. They made ceviche with it and also grilled the rest. It was the best meal we had there. Just amazing and La Luna has a great location with views. There was plenty of fish left which we prepared in the condo for tacos the next evening. We had a party of eight and the condo was plenty big for us all. The only problem we had was water pressure at times, but whenever we reported it, it was fixed after a few minutes. I would easily stay here again as it is one of the most beautiful locations for a hotel I ever stayed at. Oh and concerning wildlife, we saw a couple monkeys and sloths near the hotel and during our 5 minute walk downhill to the local beach. It was a great little beach, but the water wasn't too clear for snorkeling, although I saw some fish near the rocks, but as mentioned clarity is lacking there. Take a trip 30 mins south to Dominical and head inland to the Nauyaca waterfalls. You can hike in or take horseback. It is worth it. Horseback ride is only $70 US per person and includes a breakfast and lunch midway in both directions. Horses were very nice and well kept. We didn't see too much wildlife on that trip, but if you head into Manuel Antonio State Park, you will see plenty there. We saw 3 monkey types, a coati, iquanas, peccary, vine snake and pesky raccoons that will snatch your food from your bags right next to you. This time of year (with locals on vacation too) the park is very busy and be prepared to be around some crowds. This place will not disappoint! Last comment, the restaurant at the hotel is good, but is a bit pricey. Better options are out and about nearby concerning pricing."

  • Our Shangri-La

"A family group of five adults, we were thrilled with our week-long Villa La Vista experience. The Villa is beautiful, and we so enjoyed hearing the comforting sounds of the ocean surf at all times of day. We happily spread out into the three spacious bedrooms (one in a separate apartment), each with its private ocean-view patio, and air-conditioning. We gathered in the main living area to enjoy the comfy chairs and sofa for reading and wifi time, or we moved on to the ocean-view patio, which everyone sought out from dawn ‘til dusk. That’s where we watched a sloth hanging out for twenty-four hours on a nearby tree; and that’s where the squirrel and white-faced monkeys visited us. Squirrel monkeys are not to be missed—they play like kittens! The kitchen was convenient and well-equipped, although we mainly prepared breakfast and lunch, as eating out was fun at the many nearby restaurants which we could easily walk to. With vegetarians in our group, we loved Café Milagro, which turned into one of our favorite spots for an occasional breakfast as well as dinner. Fred’s provided a fabulous view of the spectacular sunsets. The Villa, which is located on a dirt road, is very quiet and private—so private that it was possible to skinny dip in our own “plunge pool.” The pool is beautifully surrounded by flowering plants such as the magnificent hanging “lobster claw,” and it was our go-to spot for a fast refresher whenever we got too warm, for instance when we had made the walk back up the hill after a swim in the ocean. The ocean is just ten minutes down the road from the Villa; we couldn’t believe what felt like our own private white sand beach, with excellent surf! We were also thrilled to find trees lining the beach, so that we didn’t have to stay in the sun. Getting set up to stay at the Villa was made very easy by its owner, Nancy, who provided fast feedback and excellent information—everything one could want. The concierge, Geralyn, couldn’t have been more helpful, before and during our visit, from setting up tours to providing a birthday cake to calling cabs when our Spanish was insufficient. We were also grateful for the excellent attentions of the housekeeper, Lidette, and the groundskeeper, Chino. It was so very nice not to have to do laundry (unless we preferred to do it ourselves) and occasionally to have fresh sheets. Our only complaint? We should have stayed longer - and we will next year!"
