  • Canot convey the awesome of this place. If you hate to camp but love nature this is your place.

"Villa Tekla is your spot if you like "glamping" Camping with all the amenities, refrigerator, stove, TV, WiFi, hot water and a private pool! A very thought out villa that uses the idea of openness to bring you into the surrounding rain forest. I will have to warn that there are no glass windows in the Villa (master bedroom downstairs is fully screened in) and that unnerved me at first, but with the view and everything you'll forget about that in minutes. After spending only 16 hours on the property I saw Toucans, sloths, small poisons looking frogs and a myriad of birds and butterflies I can't even keep track of. Yes nature may visit inside, as we had several birds pop into the rooms, house geckos to help with keeping the bugs down and the special occasion was when a wayward two toed sloth decided to take a stroll along the gates, the main living room windows and overhang. That is something I will never forget. One word of advice don't leave the main white lights on in any room during the night for a long time. We made that mistake the second day and it became bug central, but hey you're visiting a place that has a huge amount of wildlife and to me it was a plus! Waking up to the morning sun (due to damn loud monkeys and birds) on the patio with a coffee was just amazing. The views are spectacular and just being in the canopy of a rainforest is something I doubt anyone would forget. All rooms have very powerful ceiling fans that facilitate the airflow to make the house very comfortable even during times of high heat and humidity. One day reached 98 degrees F 100% humidity but inside it was a comfortable 75-80 F degrees. The tiered layout of the house made me feel like a kid again (I'm 46). Plenty of room for several couples (only 2 of us but could accommodate 4-6 easily) as long as you aren't concerned about privacy, as the house is constructed for maximum airflow to keep it cool so there are very few doors which may make some westerners uncomfortable. And how can you not resist a private pool (just about 6ft deep). Fully functioning kitchen with coffee maker, blender (most important for pina coladas!), toaster, microwave, full size refrigerator and stove and most all pots/pans you can think of. The knives were actually sharp! It's only 1/4 of a mile to a very well stocked market which had more European cheeses than my local grocer in DC does! People in Manuel Antonio are very friendly and helpful. Wesley DC"

  • Awesome place for family or group of travelers to stay!

"As a group of seven young professionals we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Kalani. Nicole (the property manager) was incredibly helpful setting up everything we needed on the trip including transportation and a zip-line canopy tour. The house had everything we needed, and although the pool isn't huge, it's perfect to cool off in during the humid afternoons. The upstairs balcony is the perfect place to catch a sunset, or watch the monkeys in the morning. I would recommend Casa Kalani to anyone who wants a great stay in Manuel Antonio! -Will Mattingly"

  • An Amazing House in Paradise

"This luxurious residence helped us have an awesome end to an already great trip to Costa Rica. After spending 4 adventurous days in the Arenal Volcano area, we spent the last 4 days of our trip relaxing in this spacious home in Manuel Antonio. Framed in wall to wall windows, we had a perfect view from every location to see the mountains to our right, the ocean in the distance and every shade of green around us. Sunsets were spectacular! We hardly wanted to leave as it felt like a piece of paradise right there with an elegant infinity pool and the sounds of the water falling to a smaller pool below the main floor. Wildlife surrounded us with many species of birds to view such as hummingbirds, macaws, melodious blackbirds, and Tanager’s. It was common to see black iguanas, lizards and a variety of colorful butterflies. We were lucky to spot a group of squirrel monkeys climbing on a nearby powerline. The AC was a huge plus in the private bedrooms but we opened up every door and window for fresh air with cross ventilation in the main area. Our girls felt they got the best room in the house on the bottom level. It was spa-like with the sounds of the waterfall into the smaller pool outside. All bedrooms were spacious and clean. Vanessa was there to greet us answering questions, getting us food, making reservations for excursions, and kind of at our beck and call. She recommended Chef Xavier for one day to cook meals. The kids all still say this was one of the best days of our trip. They watched him prepare each delicious meal! Well worth every penny. We are ready to go back…Pura Vida!"

  • The perfect place!

"I can't say enough great things about the house. The location is awesome and the view is beautiful. The house is very spacious, luxurious and has all the amenities. Even the drive to get there is adventurous. We loved being in the mountains where the air is pure and you're away from all the congestion of the major tourist cities like Manual Antonio. After spending most all of our days on adventures it was great to come back to the quiet house in the mountains at the end of the day and relax by the pool. It's only a short drive to some of the best restaurants in Manual Antonio (Emilio's and Cafe Melagro were our favorites). The caretaker Bert was great for recommendations of places and helping us find the house for the first time. A 4x4 vehicle is a must especially in the summer/rainy season as the house is in the mountains. We loved it and will absolutely be returning here for all of our future trips to Costa Rica!"
