  • Gorgeous villa

"I absolutely loved the place. It was spacious but not over done. The landscape and view was surreal. I've never felt so at home so far from home. The view of the sun rises and sunsets over the mountains put a smile on my face every single day. The house itself was air conditioned. The wifi worked well. The rooms were gorgeous. I loved the pool. We sat by it at night listening to the howler monkeys. There was lots to do in the surrounding area. I always felt very safe. I will definitely go again."

  • Loved just about everything

"This is a great place... great location (end of town and next to Casino), beautiful accommodation (balcony views of ocean, jungle and wildlife) , very comfortable at a good price. Perhaps the best feature of this place was our hosts Stephanie and John. Stephanie is extremely nice and accommodating which made our stay in Jaco even more enjoyable. Her recommendations for food and tours were 100% spot on. The only thing we didn't like were the rooster crowing throughout the night (Costa Rican roosters can't tell time) and the karaoke bar that goes all night. Stephanie left ear plugs which definitely helped. But overall this is a great place and you won't be disappointed. I'll be back."

  • PURA VIDA WITH A VIEW

"The pictures represented on the vrbo site are truly what you get. 4 couples had a fabulous time in this beautiful home. Great pool, we had early morning coffee looking at our gorgeous view and listening to the waves crash below on the beach. Note you can't walk from the house to the beach, it will require a drive but five minutes top. We saw animals galore, even a sloth due to our wonderful caretaker Tom. We loved the privacy of the home - no home has views to another home. If you're an adventure seeker, or just want to lay back - this is the place. Definately need the 4x4 to get to this place but worth the trek."

  • Pura Vida Costa Rica at the Casa!

"A busy family of five, looking to disconnect... and that is what we got! If your sick of fighting for a chair at a pool in a resort, or standing in line to eat dinner on a cruise-try this! This beautiful home was secluded, wildlife everywhere, great pool, balconies, comfy beds-and air conditioned bedrooms! (yes 1 is a garage converted-not a big deal) We live at the beach in the US, so we were looking for a mountain get-away, and Casa De la Montana gave us just that. Unlike the last review-we feel your in Costa Rica-so learn the language! Google translate worked just fine. No Oscar, really doesn't speak English, but translate worked for us. He was a wonderful, considerate man! Took us horseback riding, and kids on the quad. He has great tips-ask him! Magally (who walks 30 min. to work-give her a ride if you can) was wonderful. We wanted a vacation, so we asked her to cook on the days she was there-and she did, ask her for the Yuca stuffed with Bisteca! Esteban (he is also on the contact list) is an amazing chef. We hired him for the weekend, we asked for authentic CR food-and he did! He's a great guy, fun to hang with, and a great chef! We don't recommend renting a car. Just use the one at the casa. Fernan-incredible-worth every penny! He picked us up from the airport, took us food shopping, stopped to see the crocs, stopped for us to eat, and found the house at night-which wouldn't have been too easy! Brought us back to airport, stopped for souvenirs, and we were on time! He is a great guy, highly recommend his services! The people on the mountain were lovely... Steven & Saulio at Sky Mountain-the best! We've been zip lining, this was by far- best we've done-scary, high, incredible views! Tres Pilas-go to the falls. Bit of hike, but heah... you want the jungle-you hike. We saw monkeys, and had a blast. Jump in the middle pool, and stay to the left when you arrive, there is a trail up the side of the falls. We surf-go to Hermosa or Esterillos Oesta- find Jorge to rent boards from, he's just as you get to the beach on the right. Snorkled off a catamaran-Ocean King. Great service, nice boat. The road through town and up the mountain isn't the best-yes. But remember where you are. This is an experience like none other- enjoy it, take in the views, play your music, relax, swim, toucans & monkeys on the property... It's the best! Our kids 13,11,9 loved the wifi, lol! We will be back Claudia & Randy!"
