  • Million dollar views!

"My wife and I really enjoyed this property. We had as much fun laying by the pool with cocktails, enjoying our tunes, and taking in the breathtaking views as we had exploring the plethora of other things there are to do in the Montezuma area. Joachim was extremely helpful and accommodating. The perfect host! The kitchen was well-equipped. No A/C, but we went in December and found the fans certainly adequate. The wildlife that we encountered on the property was a true treat for my family. As a note, the guesthouse is not quite adjacent to the main house. I talked to Joachim about this before we arrived, so we knew what to expect. With our two younger children (ages 6 and 8), that meant that my wife and I split up to each share a bed with a boy. We didn't feel comfortable putting them that distance away from us. It wasn't a deal breaker when we booked and it didn't detract from our experience. Just something to be aware of. I think this property is ideally suited for 2 couples or a family with 1-2 older children that you don't mind sleeping in a separate structure about 50 feet away. For the right adventurous family, I can not stress enough how amazing this property is! I think that you will be hard pressed to find any property at this price point that can beat it in all of Costa Rica...let alone the Montezuma area."

  • A great place near Montezuma !

"I recently finished a one month stay at La Colina. I had previously spent a week there last year and was anxious to return for a longer period this time. I easily settled in and noticed how well provided it is for a long stay with a kitchen that bears many thoughtful touches, good fans for cooling each room, a new washer and lines outside for natural drying and the classic tropical veranda that serves as the outdoor living room with comfortable chairs, a hammock and large table that would seat 8 people. The gardens surrounding the home are well-cared for and I could cut flowers for arrangements. A thick jungle canopy encloses the space on each side for privacy and dips with the slope in front to open for a panoramic ocean view. In front of the veranda were many shrubs in bloom that attracted a dance of multi-colored butterflies and darts of iridescent hummingbirds! After multiple trips exploring all around Costa Rica, this is the spot that feels most like home."

  • Very nice stay with friends!

"Me and two other friends stayed for 5 days at Ype's vacation home and it was by far one of the best stays we had in Costa Rica. He was very welcoming and a great host all around. If we had questions on what to do or where to find it , he had the answer. We enjoyed being able to cook for ourselves and being provided all the ingredients for breakfast! Hot showers and comfortable beds and hammocks made it the best nights of sleep we had in Costa Rica. The landscape surrounding the home is breath taking. We also enjoyed having rescued dogs around during our stay. We even encountered a group of squirrel-monkeys right behind the house. I highly recommend Ype for any type of stay. Thank you and Pura vida!"

  • Fabulous

"My two sons, girlfriend and I stayed here last year. We loved it. Right on beach where the beach and swimming were perfect. Close to everything. Ivan was fabulous and helped with anything we needed. Highly recommended. Wish I was there right now."
