  • Amazing place to stay

"My family (including two adults, a teenager, and two toddlers) absolutely loved our stay in this home. Xima, the property manager, was so helpful and resourceful--she immediately made us feel at home. And Kelsey, the owner was so helpful when booking. The house is stunning and we loved the property grounds, especially the salt water pool. Very eco-friendly and is seclude, yet close in proximity to Montezuma. My family spent a month in CR in July 2016 and this was one of our favorite experiences. After staying in Santa Teresa for 2 weeks, this area was an ideal place to relax and get away from it all. Also, we preferred Montezuma over some of the other towns. We will definitly return to the area and Kelsey will be the first person I contact to secure a home for us. If you are reading this, you should rent this property--you will be glad that you did."

  • Idyllic location and wonderful experience

"We were excited to find this property and were even more impressed when we arrived. Warmly greeted by Leanne, upon arriving in Montezuma, we were shown around the town and then to the property near by. Beyond the delightful accommodations, the property has it's own private beach and tide pools, as well as various quiet places to melt into a hammock with the ocean steps away. Several times we walked from this property on quiet roads to one of the best bathing beaches I've experienced (5 minutes if you walk slowly). On other excursions we walked to a waterfall and hiked up into an area with exotic birds and other wildlife, an easy 10 minute walk away. Having two wildlife biologists with us we chose walking places like Cabuya, a tiny town nearby, so to see the many varieties of birds (and monkeys). And, sunrise! Wow!! I got up every morning to watch that amazing show. So, if you like the beauty of nature and you really want a treat, this is it."

  • Idyllic stay at the Howler Monkey Hotel

"I am currently spending 12 months backpacking with my 8 year old twins and we just spent 10 wonderful days at the Howler Monkey Hotel. None of us wanted to leave and the kids asked me repeatedly on our bus to Montezuma could we go back. The cabins are a beautiful A-frame and the upstairs sleeping area is spacious and very cool. We used the fan though there were some nights we did not need to. We fell asleep and awoke to the sound of the ocean and occasionally, to our delight the sound of Howler Monkeys. Each cabin comes with a good basic kitchen with fridge and gas cooker and a bathroom. There are two supermarkets in walking distance and a few sodas and a very good bakery cafe. The local bus service gets you to Montezuma and Cabano on a regular basis. We did not have a car and never felt like we needed one. Having Jim the owner onsite gave me an additional sense of security in knowing someone was always around. He offered heaps of advice and assistance and as a manager remained unobtrusive but was there when you needed him. My son in particular developed a real soft spot for Jim and loved some of the stories he told him. I also enjoyed some lovely conversations with him. We fell in love with the resident dogs and once again there was that added bonus of security with them being around in addition to being an extra bit of personality. The location is superb in that you walk straight out onto the beach and can walk across to Isla Cabuya on low tide. We absolutely loved our time at the Howler Monkey Hotel and could not recommend it highly enough."
