"My girlfriend and I stayed in the cabina for a week and it was incredible. Cassidy and Rayna made planning the trip a breeze, and Guillermo was very helpful when we got there and always responsive whenever we needed a ride into town. He was ready with the boat in Sierpe when we arrived, loaded our luggage into the boat, took us to SDP (10-15 minute ride), and then walked us up to the cabina and pointed out a few things, including the group of howler monkeys sleeping in the trees, during our walk up. The 95-99 degree heat was a little intimidating at first, but the ceiling fans in the cabina make it much better and at night it would cool off to upper 70s which made it very comfortable to sleep in. The walk from the pier to the cabina is uphill and can seem somewhat steep in parts, but makes it all the more worth it as you progress from the mangroves and forest floor to the canopy, where you're cabina is sitting perched overlooking the surrounding rainforest. Plus, you get used to that walk very quickly during your stay and we had some of our best wildlife viewing while walking on this trail. There are also numerous trails to hike throughout the property. I personally recommend the mangrove trail, which takes you through the garden where you can find some fresh fruit and then it proceeds along the river. We stocked up on some fresh limes and enjoyed them with our imperial beers. We just about ran out of batteries for our camera and took over 300 pictures during our first couple of days, which shows how much you can see while staying at SDP. One of our favorite moments was hanging out on the porch in the rocking chairs and seeing a three-toed sloth lounging high up in a tree during sunset just 100 feet away from our porch. We also took the kayaks out on the tributary near the pier and I tried fly fishing for a bit, but had no luck. My favorite activity was the night hike with Cesar. He is very knowledgeable and took us out on his farm and pointed out some amazing wildlife. It is a must for all adventure seekers! We also recommend getting out to Isla del Caño for a day, whether you snorkel or go fishing. They picked us up and dropped us off right at the SDP pier for all of these trips, which was very convenient. The town of Sierpe is full of friendly locals as well as a few shops and restaurants. If you love wildlife, hiking, camping, being remote, exploring, etc., this is the place to be. We will be returning here again in the future. Thanks again, Cassidy!"

  • Jungle paradise! Private, remote, 5 star amenities, unbeliveable views, the perfect get-away!

"The jungle villa was the perfect setting for my company incentive trip! I, along with four couples, made this jungle paradise home for 5 days! We wanted an adventure & we got it! If you're looking for something unusual, out of the box, & most likely a never been done experience, this is it! The villa sleeps 4 couples in comfortable jungle style. We had all our meals prepared daily & they were fantastic! The sites & sounds all around us were spectacular! Everyday there were more activities than we had time to enjoy. Fishing, repelling along side waterfalls, & sailing were a blast! I highly recommend this experience to anyone with an adventurous soul!"

  • Things that make you go hmmm

"After spending the last three years exploring C.R with my extended family it was time to hit the Osa. I have had Life's a Wave on my radar for years. Here is what I found..... 1.THE HOUSE&PROPERTY... Are beautiful!! The house is set up perfectly for our group of 7. We never got in each others way and the house was very comfortable. The wood in C.R is beautiful and this house shows you that. The dining room table especially. The beds are all very comfortable and the fans did there job to keep most of us cool at night. We did have a fan break on us and it was never replaced so that was a bit of a bummer. You are in the jungle so it very hot and humid and once the sun goes down so does the breeze. My only complaint is the light over the table. It is very low so during our nightly game of hearts you are fighting the bugs. Maybe get a higher light with a fan? That would have made our nights a lot more comfortable. My daily walks around the property revealed something new almost daily. Lastly, the pool is awesome. Great for lounging around and watching the Macaw's do their thing. 2. THE BEACH...This was a big disappointment for our family. We are not a surfing family but we love the beach. I was under the impression that this was a surfing/swimming beach. It is Not. It is a surfing beach only. I use the word beach loosely as it is made up mostly of big piles of rocks with a few slivers of sand. It is however a very beautiful beach. The waves are huge and awesome and the views are simply breathtaking. There are a few other beaches nearby but I would say you need to be a very strong swimmer to use them as the rip tide is very strong. We did find lots of critters in the tide pools so that was fun for me and the kids. If you are looking for a beach to take a stroll, take a swim, and head back to pool this is not your beach. Playa Platanares is what you a looking for. 3. THE WILDLIFE.... Is good. We did see all four types of monkeys, a sloth, a basilisk lizard, and lots and lots of birds. The Macaw's steal the show. They are present every day and very fun to watch zip through the trees and devour the almonds. We didn't see any ground animals. I think all the neighborhood dogs keep them away for the most part. All and all a great nature experience. 4. OTHER NOTES... The animal rescue center is worth the trip. Carol is an amazing women with so much passion for wildlife. And sweetie pie will melt your heart. NOTE: The waterfalls are dry during the dry season."

  • Absolutely Great!

"Casa Dulce is great, the best place to stay in the area. We have been staying here for the past 10 years and plan to keep coming back. The house is located in a great location. It is located on the beach with great surfing and fishing. The owner is very responsive and accommodating. The property is clean and well cared for. The caretaker will assist with anything that is needed. We recommend Casa Dulce to everyone going to Costa Rica. Absolutely Great!!!"
