  • Little piece of paradise

"Staying in this wonderful house was an experience we'll remember forever. A large and open house with a lovely pool, right in the heart of the forest. And the caretakers, Grace and Juan, really made it special - Grace's cooking was a real treat and nice not to have to cook for ourselves all the time, and Juan was a great guide to the forest nearby. (We asked Adrian for a shopping list before we went which was helpful - and might be a good thing to provide to all guests) There is lots of wildlife walking right by the house - we saw a laughing falcon take a (harmless) snake just below the house, a Tayra climbing a tree, macaws, toucans and lots of hummingbirds and butterflies - even a turtle on the beach! Some of the fixtures and fittings (window latches, wardrobe doors) have taken a little bit of a beating from the jungle, but more than compensated for by the wonderful surroundings. And you should be aware that the sound of the ocean can be quite loud, which didn't bother us - but might be a consideration for others. I'd recommend a visit to Estacion Piro just up the road, and ask Juan to take you to the other part of Adrian's estate - which you might not find by yourself and contains some amazing trees. Really a nature lovers paradise and the pool was a real treat."

  • Awsome time

"Terry and Andy: Happy New Year. Thank you again for your hospitality. We had an awesome time. Everything was as described in your listing. The house was great, the property was perfect and we can not say enough about the wildlife. The sights and sounds were incredible. You were extremely helpful sharing your local knowledge of the area. If you are into nature and a laid back atmosphere, then this is the place to stay. Next time we come we will be sure and schedule a visit to the park with you."

  • Unfaltering Hospitality!

"Melanie and Kim, Thank you again for sharing your beautiful home with me and mike and showing us how to be Osapiens for the past 10 days. Between the hurricane and the boa, it will be a vacation to remember. But even more memorable will be your unfaltering hospitality. What a treat to get to know you, Kim, and the family of Casa Dos Rios. We love the hotel in Alejuela...thank you for the arrangement. Gracias!!! Terrie & Mike"

  • Anniversery retreat in Costa

"My wife and I went down to Costa at Matapalo to celebrate our 39th anniversary, relax and plan for our big 40. We were so WOW-ed by this place, we want to spend our 40th here. It is a perfect beach bungalow, perfect for a surfer, artist or naturalist who wants to relax. Our first time staying there, but going back again next month and next year. We hope to be regulars and be able to give excellent reviews ten years from now."
