  • A House to Fall in Love With

"This is a truly unique house. A blend of atmosphere, materials, decoration, structure, views and solitary that you can't really explain in words, but when you eventually leave it, you feel a little heart broken."

  • Even better than the last time

"April 2016 was the third time I have stayed at Paraiso de Miguel. Each time it gets even better than the last time. The landscape is meticulously maintained and the trees and fruits on the property continue to mature... it truly is a beautiful place to kick off your flip flops and relax in one of the multiple hammocks outside overlooking the Golfo Dulce. Mike and Liz are exactly the kind of hosts you want when on vacation in a remote tropical paradise. They have a very laid back vibe but are very accessible and attentive to your needs. They are very knowledgeable about the area and well known and liked in the local community. The new addition of the pizza oven/grilling complex/happy hour bar was a smash hit. After cooling off in the outdoor rain shower (which I love so much I have never once used the nice shower in the bathroom!) we hit the pizza bar where Mike chopped open some coconuts that we used as mixer while watching the sunset and creating our own individual pizzas (delicious home made sauce by Lizzy to boot... highly recommend a pizza night). Are you kidding me? You can keep the hotels... this is my kind of place. There are so many places in the world I want to see and experience but Paraiso de Miguel makes it a really tough decision to go anywhere else. My kids are now at the age where I think they would really enjoy the experience as well... hikes to waterfalls, surfing one of the longest waves in the world, boat trip through the mangroves, monkeys in the trees outside the window, Scarlett McCaws and Toucans flying around. If you want to get away from it all and truly experience Costa Rica in a remote jungle paradise (getting there is indeed part of the adventure!), yet have all the modern conveniences with amazing hosts then this is it. See you guys again soon but with the family next time! -Smed"

  • Fantastic Home, GREAT for a Family Getaway

"It's hard to find a place that accommodates a large family (we're a family of 7). This home was more than enough space! Scott and Maria took great care of us! Wildlife was amazing, got a daily show, compliments of the Macaws and several types of monkeys. Very comfortable and a quick 15 minute drive to the surf. Lots of 'stuff' to make your stay easy and good cell reception (for better of worse!!). Overall fantastic stay, looking forward to our return!"

  • Great place to call our home while visiting Pavones. Had a great time, can't wait to return!

"The property is a 2 BR/ 1 BA , with a fully functional kitchen that includes a fridge/freezer combo, gas stove, microwave. Oh, and a coffee pot. A must have to enjoy the delicious coffee from local super markets. The A/C is very nice during the day as it does get quite warm. The place has a washer and dryer as well. "Pavones Paradise" is a great place to stay if you or your group is looking to see Costa Rica beach culture at its finest, hear and see a wide variety of frogs, monkeys, birds and insects while drinking your coffee with breakfast or in the evening with a nice drink relaxing in one of the two hammocks provided. Yes, they have Toucans. I got to see one during our last days there, so cool. The nearest grocery store is about 15 minutes away. The local restaurants "Soda's" are a great deal for breakfast and "Casado's" for lunch and Dinner, and are also not too far from the home. The owners carolina and Les were amazing hosts. They were both very helpful when asked about the local cuisine and things to do in the area. The home was perfect for our stay! The only issue we had was that the shower head leaked. We let Carolina know, and she came to the home the same day and had it taken care of for us. Great service, thanks so much for everything! For the surfers... There are two surf shops in town. We rented boards from "Pavones Surf Shop" . Go here! His name is Randy Walker, he is the Owner/ Shaper. I rented a 6' 6" epoxy thruster for $15/ day + $100 deposit, and my friend got an epoxy 5 fin short board for $15/ day + $100 refundable deposit (boards are in new/ like new condition, so the deposit was expected. We both really enjoyed the boards And scored Some fantastic surf the five days we stayed there. Randy is a a wealth of knowledge when it comes to boards, if your just beginning or your looking to test the waters with a new board shape or fin set up, Randy's got a board for you! Till next time, Pura Vida! -Zach and Alex"
