"My girlfriend and I stayed in the cabina for a week and it was incredible. Cassidy and Rayna made planning the trip a breeze, and Guillermo was very helpful when we got there and always responsive whenever we needed a ride into town. He was ready with the boat in Sierpe when we arrived, loaded our luggage into the boat, took us to SDP (10-15 minute ride), and then walked us up to the cabina and pointed out a few things, including the group of howler monkeys sleeping in the trees, during our walk up. The 95-99 degree heat was a little intimidating at first, but the ceiling fans in the cabina make it much better and at night it would cool off to upper 70s which made it very comfortable to sleep in. The walk from the pier to the cabina is uphill and can seem somewhat steep in parts, but makes it all the more worth it as you progress from the mangroves and forest floor to the canopy, where you're cabina is sitting perched overlooking the surrounding rainforest. Plus, you get used to that walk very quickly during your stay and we had some of our best wildlife viewing while walking on this trail. There are also numerous trails to hike throughout the property. I personally recommend the mangrove trail, which takes you through the garden where you can find some fresh fruit and then it proceeds along the river. We stocked up on some fresh limes and enjoyed them with our imperial beers. We just about ran out of batteries for our camera and took over 300 pictures during our first couple of days, which shows how much you can see while staying at SDP. One of our favorite moments was hanging out on the porch in the rocking chairs and seeing a three-toed sloth lounging high up in a tree during sunset just 100 feet away from our porch. We also took the kayaks out on the tributary near the pier and I tried fly fishing for a bit, but had no luck. My favorite activity was the night hike with Cesar. He is very knowledgeable and took us out on his farm and pointed out some amazing wildlife. It is a must for all adventure seekers! We also recommend getting out to Isla del Caño for a day, whether you snorkel or go fishing. They picked us up and dropped us off right at the SDP pier for all of these trips, which was very convenient. The town of Sierpe is full of friendly locals as well as a few shops and restaurants. If you love wildlife, hiking, camping, being remote, exploring, etc., this is the place to be. We will be returning here again in the future. Thanks again, Cassidy!"

  • Cozy Little Condo!

"I had the pleasure of staying at the Veranda for ten fabulous days with my husband as we celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. John was amazing from the very beginning and his condo was perfect for us two. Very safe, quiet, perfect maintenance, great accommodations, beds extremely comfortable, full kitchen with all the appliances, dishes, etc. Close to the shopping center, gym, beach club and the Marina/restaurants. We loved Veranda 5E and plan on renting again next October. Pura Vida! xo"

  • Unique Place in a Nice Area

"Our family enjoyed 4 nights here, the house is unique and the views are really great. You get to see the lush vegetation and mountains of the Ballena Coast from almost anywhere on the property, not to mention the ocean view. We didn't get to see the most spectacular sunsets because of weather conditions, but we enjoyed every evening by the pool and the twilight was still awesome. Insects were not a problem and the house was fresh and cool at night without the need for A/C, there were plenty of ceiling fans and other fans when there wasn't any breeze. The house is exactly as shown in the pictures, it has lovely wood accents and a unique character. The kitchen was fully equipped with a full sized refrigerator and gas stove. The access roads to the property were in good condition, they are gravel but seem to be well maintained by the community. It is green season, but not the heaviest rainy period, so conditions may vary at other times of the year. The house is surrounded by other luxury properties and the area seemed really safe to us. We visited the Whale's Tale in Uvita and did a whale & dolphin snorkelling tour our first day, the second day we visited the Ventanas and Piñuelas beaches and the third day we went to the world famous Naucaya waterfall, which was definitely one of the highlight attractions in Costa Rica. You won't regret visiting this area and this house is a very good selection."

  • Beautiful house!

"We loved Casa Sophia. I was there with my husband, our 10 month old and my in laws. The layout of the house is great (especially if you have young children or are with older adults). It's absolutely beautiful in person (and spotless). The pool and pool deck were very nice. We had daily visits from the monkeys, and there was a sloth outside of the living room on one of the trees as well. Aside from this being a wonderful place to stay, Vanessa from Manuel Antonio Properties was fantastic to work with from before we arrived to during our stay. She was available for any questions, she helped with airport transportation, beach and restaurant recommendations, etc. I highly recommend Casa Sophia and Manuel Antonio Properties. We will definitely be back!"
