  • Pura Vida Costa Rica at the Casa!

"A busy family of five, looking to disconnect... and that is what we got! If your sick of fighting for a chair at a pool in a resort, or standing in line to eat dinner on a cruise-try this! This beautiful home was secluded, wildlife everywhere, great pool, balconies, comfy beds-and air conditioned bedrooms! (yes 1 is a garage converted-not a big deal) We live at the beach in the US, so we were looking for a mountain get-away, and Casa De la Montana gave us just that. Unlike the last review-we feel your in Costa Rica-so learn the language! Google translate worked just fine. No Oscar, really doesn't speak English, but translate worked for us. He was a wonderful, considerate man! Took us horseback riding, and kids on the quad. He has great tips-ask him! Magally (who walks 30 min. to work-give her a ride if you can) was wonderful. We wanted a vacation, so we asked her to cook on the days she was there-and she did, ask her for the Yuca stuffed with Bisteca! Esteban (he is also on the contact list) is an amazing chef. We hired him for the weekend, we asked for authentic CR food-and he did! He's a great guy, fun to hang with, and a great chef! We don't recommend renting a car. Just use the one at the casa. Fernan-incredible-worth every penny! He picked us up from the airport, took us food shopping, stopped to see the crocs, stopped for us to eat, and found the house at night-which wouldn't have been too easy! Brought us back to airport, stopped for souvenirs, and we were on time! He is a great guy, highly recommend his services! The people on the mountain were lovely... Steven & Saulio at Sky Mountain-the best! We've been zip lining, this was by far- best we've done-scary, high, incredible views! Tres Pilas-go to the falls. Bit of hike, but heah... you want the jungle-you hike. We saw monkeys, and had a blast. Jump in the middle pool, and stay to the left when you arrive, there is a trail up the side of the falls. We surf-go to Hermosa or Esterillos Oesta- find Jorge to rent boards from, he's just as you get to the beach on the right. Snorkled off a catamaran-Ocean King. Great service, nice boat. The road through town and up the mountain isn't the best-yes. But remember where you are. This is an experience like none other- enjoy it, take in the views, play your music, relax, swim, toucans & monkeys on the property... It's the best! Our kids 13,11,9 loved the wifi, lol! We will be back Claudia & Randy!"

  • Quinta Sonada, A sweet time on the sweet Gulf.

"Staying at Quinta Sonada was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. This place is exactly how it is described. You are situated right on the beach .My wife and i spent ten nights just hanging around and just enjoying Gods creation.Beautiful grounds, lots of birds, monkeys, and just a very relaxing time, nice breezes. We were there in Febuary, and we had no rain, and it was very warm.We would go swimming every morning and afternoon. We enjoyed swimming at Tomales beach and right in front of the house. The beach in the front has a rocky beach and water sandals are advised, but it is not a real problem to keep you from just walking out the door for a swim. The caretakers,Jose,Eliatha, and Joselito are there if you need anything. We had Eleatha cook us many dinners that were just great. The house is on a very good well, with good safe drinking water. There is a good fridge that keeps everything cold, and a good stove for cooking.Chris has the place stocked real nice with lots of books and cds .There is a couple Kayaks to take out which i did. When staying at Chris's place you have the option of heading out to explore the area or to just hang.We loved just hanging out and enjoying the place. We had no problem with mosquito's,but you should bring some citronella candles or coils just in case,Chris the owner is very easy to work.To sum it up the place is exactly as it is advertised and you will not be disappointed."

  • Maria

"Case de Sophie was an incredible get away home. For a gal that likes to cook, it was so great having such an intuitive kitchen- felt right at home! The private pool was lovely and the upstairs outdoor dining area was a real treat. From the dining hop off into the hammock to relax and food coma your way into a nice sleep. The beach is walking distance from the house. I have seen many beaches but this one stole my heart. The sand is like cocoa bean powder and the water is so clear and warm. Standing in the ocean and looking into the land you can't help but feel as if you were in a painting. The tropical trees surround the beach and the panoramic view is absolutely striking. Beautiful in the most surreal yet peaceful way. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience! The whole experience was wonderful and I surely plan to return to Casa de Sophie- a Costa Rican paradise."

  • Absolutely amazing! The pictures dont do it justice.

"This condo was perfect. Very well appointed and excellent view of the sunset and water. Watching surfers in the morning and sunsets at night, the furnishings are perfect and the condo is very large. Close to everything. Security is great. Rebekah, the concierge is fantastic and super helpful."
