  • An amazing experience!

"I have been coming to visit Dominical and the Ballena Coast region for 10 years now and have stayed in quite a few homes in the area. My family and I stayed at Casa Mar y Luna for two weeks on our previous trip and enjoyed every minute of it! The house is modern and comfortable, offering some of the most incredible ocean/whitewater and sunset views in the country! Although the home is just a minute off the highway , it feels very private and you can't see or hear any neighbors below, behind or to the sides of the home. The rooms are very comfortable (4th bedroom is smaller, but nice) and the Master Suite with private balcony (the views get better as you go up) was a perfect spot for my wife and I to take refuge, while the kids played in the pool below. Most of our time was spent in the spacious, tropical outdoor patio area, swimming in the incredible infinity pool, taking in the majestic ocean views and enjoying the daily visits of monkeys and toucans in the lush stretch of jungle that comes up to the side of the patio. Jose and his wife Cecilia are very accommodating and helpful. Many of the other luxury homes I have stayed at in the past are very difficult to access (sometimes dangerous), as they are located 10-15 minutes off the highway on steep, bumpy 4x4 roads It was such a pleasure to finally stay in a home that has such easy access to beaches, surf and amenities of Dominical, yet enjoying an elevated, birds eye ocean views, privacy and cooler breezes that come with being situated up on the mountain. We will certainly be back to this home in the future!"

  • A House to Fall in Love With

"This is a truly unique house. A blend of atmosphere, materials, decoration, structure, views and solitary that you can't really explain in words, but when you eventually leave it, you feel a little heart broken."

  • Beautiful condo with amazing ocean view!

"Faith's condo is spacious , beautiful, and has a large balcony with amazing ocean views. Great location is just a short walk to many shops and restaurants or you can take a quick cab for a few dollars. Faith provided us with a great list of recommended restaurants , shopping, and activities. And was quick to repond to any questions we had. Her recommended driver, Dan, was at the airport to promptly whisk us off to our condo. He also provided us transportation for our day trip to Manuel Antonio Park. Dan is very nice and gave us great information along the way. We really enjoyed Crocs casino pool. Staff is always ready to bring you a cocktail or food while you relax at the pool. The staff at the palms is very friendly and helpful as well. Can't wait to return !"

  • Beautiful house and gorgeous setting

"We loved the house and the view from the balcony. Beautiful woodwork throughout. The main room is larger than it looks in the photos. We did not see mosquitoes. We had Melanie cook a meal for us and it was delicious. The yoga classes were a real plus. We enjoyed watching the monkeys from the balcony. We took a number of tours and enjoyed the wildlife. We did not rent a car, which limited us a bit. There are no groceries other than the one in Puerto Jimenez, 40 minutes away on a very bumpy road...NONE. For hiking you can walk twenty minutes to the resort Lapo Rios. We took a 2.5 hour waterfall hike there and enjoyed it. You can also just walk up the river from the main road and get to the same waterfall--if you are sure-footed. I did it and it was beautiful. Any water--river or beach-- is public property. 10 meters either side for rivers, I think 50 meters from high tide for the beaches. I'd suggest that any tours you arrange you are clear with the guide exactly what you have in mind. We took the boat tour to the wildlife refuge, and found out halfway through the tour that we weren't going to the refuge because it was closed. Yes, there were other great things on the boat tour--I just wish he had told me and we might have rearranged it. Similarly, let the nature tour guide know if you want a forest hike or bird watching--two very different things. We also did a kayak tour of the mangrove swamp (Aventures Tropicales )and it was great."
