  • Wonderful honeymoon - wonderful memories!

"We absolutely LOVED our time at Ala Blanca Hills! The view was incredible, the house was very secluded, Raul was extremely helpful and kind, and our overall experience was just fantastic! We stayed for a week and a half on our honeymoon and we got to go horseback riding on the beach, ziplining through the jungle, and snorkeling at Tortuga Island! Not to mention we just enjoyed relaxing in the private pool and enjoying the gorgeous views. We highly recommend this beautiful place to anyone who wants to visit Costa Rica!"

  • The Hidden Gem of Central America

"I have spent several months traveling in Costa Rica and the neighboring Countries of Central America. To say that 'El Castillo De Esparza' is THE most grandest place that I have had the privilege to experience would be an understatement. Surrounded by such all-around beauty, inside and out, to dine on fresh local fare prepared deliciously by the Chef was just another treat. The massage overlooking The Gulf of Nicoya was extremely relaxing and I am a Pickleball addict and they even had a court and paddles! The Staff was very personable and professional and no doubt could provide anything needed to make your stay something special. Having spent so much time in Costa Rica, I have visited most of the tourist destinations such as: Tabacon Hots Springs, Extreme Zip-line, volcanoes, Butterfly farms, Jungle tours and every Beach from Panama to El Salvador so I was happy to just spend time right there at El Castille. For me, there was plenty to keep me occupied and I had no desire to leave the property! It really was an easy destination to get to and I think it will be a great place for me to enjoy a girls getaway next time. All in all it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it. Suzy"

  • A week in paradise at Villa Cabomar

"Villa Cabomar was a great place to stay during our recent visit to Puntarenas, Costa Rica and we highly recommend it. Cabell and Martha were wonderful hosts, providing assistance with transportation and suggestions of unique outings including a day catching our own lunch and then enjoying it on Isla Cedros, a private island on the Nicoya gulf. Teresita, their wonderful housekeeper, provided fabulous traditional breakfasts always beginning with the most delicious fruit imaginable!!! The property is lovely; beautifully decorated with local art and furnishings, a well equipped kitchen and clean, fresh and comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. The patio is private with room for outdoor dining or sunning and has a plunge pool for afternoon dips. The beach was just a short walk from the house. We did go to Monteverde and Martha and Cabell arranged for transportation for that day including our driver Dimas, who also provided airport transportation for us. He was very knowledgeable about the country and was able to answer many questions. There are plenty of nearby restaurants to have lunch or dinner after a day of swimming or touring. One of my favorite days was a trip to another beautiful beach, where we got to interact with monkeys and iguanas. So much fun! We'll definitely plan a return visit!"

  • Great location, awesome pool right on the beach

"We only had 3 couples, but you could clearly do 5 couples with some kids. Lots of room, very clean. The care takers are great, willing to help anytime, but invisible to our stay. There was a forest fire up in the hills, we never smelled the smoke, but could see the soot in the pool. They cleaned the pool on a daily basis when this was happening. There is so much to do within an hour of the house we never ventured farther. Definitely get Ronald, one of the care takers, to take you to the monkeys. Very tame fun to interact with (using bribes, bananas of course). I was initially concerned about these heated shower heads, thinking it was going to be a cold shower every day, but that wasn't the case. I never set mine above the 1/2 way point and it bordered on being to hot... We spent almost all of our time at the house sitting on the patio. Some how the winds just channel up through the lot and even at 95F sitting on the patio was comfortable (We are from Seattle, so 95 is extremely hot to us). Any time we wanted to cool down after sitting in the sun, a quick dip in the pool was perfect. I highly recommend this house - private pool, right on the beach, what more could you ask for?"
