  • A wonderful treat!

"As you've read in other reviews the views from the casita are spectacular and the casita itself is clean, spacious and comfortable. Diane and Peter are very gracious hosts and they have a lot of helpful information about nearby sights and restaurants ready for their guests. Strongly suggest you plan your first journey up the road for a daylight arrival - after that the road becomes a non-issue, albeit for a 4x4. Suggest, too, that you stop at one of the two markets in Dominical before heading up the road to stock up on provisions - once at Diane and Peter's you won't want to turn around and leave on errands. It is a wonderful property and we had an enjoyable three days - we'll definitely be back."

  • Amazing spot

"We rented this house with another family and can't say enough great things about it. The amenities were perfect. The location (and view) was amazing. The staff/owners were gracious and attentive and I'd STRONGLY recommend this to anyone looking for a bit of luxury in the rustic reality of CR!"

  • Truly an Oasis!

"Both your “Labours of Love” are more stunning than any photograph can do them justice! We stayed in both. The artful décor and design of both houses is a credit to your talent and taste. The proximity to the beach while ensconced in a lush tropical private paradise is truly Pura Vida, the best of both worlds. The shared pool and wee waterfall are a much-needed refreshment at this very hot time of the year and the ever-present iguanas and squirrels provided much entertainment. You seem to attract the right guests because both sets of folks who occupied the “other” house while we were there for five days were delightful and fun while never being obtrusive. We liked the raised open spaciousness of Del Mar but concluded that we liked Del Rio for its tucked-away privacy and front-door access to the oft-used pool. Jan, your friend and property manager, is wonderfully accommodating and knowledgeable and provided many very helpful tips about the area. Both Jennifer and I would heartily recommend your idyllic retreat to anyone wanting a taste of Pura Vida! Warmest regards, The Snowbirds"

  • Amazing views, spectacular condo!

"This is an amazing property. The first thing to mention is the stunning ocean views from the family room and each of the three bedrooms. The location will never disappoint. The condo was well equipped and the owners Kerwin and Lisa were very responsive when setting up the reservations and answered all questions. There is a local manager Willy who will help with arranging any tours you want to enjoy, such as fishing etc. We caught fish one day (4 Spanish Mackerel) and brought it to a local restaurant (La Luna) for their preparation. They made ceviche with it and also grilled the rest. It was the best meal we had there. Just amazing and La Luna has a great location with views. There was plenty of fish left which we prepared in the condo for tacos the next evening. We had a party of eight and the condo was plenty big for us all. The only problem we had was water pressure at times, but whenever we reported it, it was fixed after a few minutes. I would easily stay here again as it is one of the most beautiful locations for a hotel I ever stayed at. Oh and concerning wildlife, we saw a couple monkeys and sloths near the hotel and during our 5 minute walk downhill to the local beach. It was a great little beach, but the water wasn't too clear for snorkeling, although I saw some fish near the rocks, but as mentioned clarity is lacking there. Take a trip 30 mins south to Dominical and head inland to the Nauyaca waterfalls. You can hike in or take horseback. It is worth it. Horseback ride is only $70 US per person and includes a breakfast and lunch midway in both directions. Horses were very nice and well kept. We didn't see too much wildlife on that trip, but if you head into Manuel Antonio State Park, you will see plenty there. We saw 3 monkey types, a coati, iquanas, peccary, vine snake and pesky raccoons that will snatch your food from your bags right next to you. This time of year (with locals on vacation too) the park is very busy and be prepared to be around some crowds. This place will not disappoint! Last comment, the restaurant at the hotel is good, but is a bit pricey. Better options are out and about nearby concerning pricing."
