  • Absolutely loved it!

"We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Valentina. The location is great, walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores and beaches. We drove to Manuel Antonio Park, but you could walk although it is a big hill. We loved the property itself, it was very clean and had everything we needed. The washer/dryer was much appreciated because of all the wet clothes we were carrying around for the week prior to coming here. Chris was very helpful and courteous. We had a miscommunication with a tour we wanted to go on, but he went over and above to make it right. We loved it and would definitely stay here again if we were to return to the beautiful country of Costa Rica."

  • Great tropical retreat!

"We spent 6 nights here and found our hosts, Colleen and Bob, to be very accommodating and helpful. This is a gorgeous property. The house was very well equipped with both an outdoor and an indoor kitchen. The outdoor shower was private and refreshing. There are 2 full bathrooms indoors, both with showers as well. We were happy to relax on the covered patio beside the carport. The breeze from the ocean and the overhead fans kept us reasonably cool in the heat. The pool was as warm as a bath tub. We did not need any AC as there were plenty of fans - both ceiling and standing ones - to keep us cool. We did need the GPS (Bob provided the coordinates) to find the property and I would not suggest trying to find it in the dark. The driveway is very steep but there was no snow or ice to worry about here! No real need for a 4 wheel drive either! The owners have two dogs - Tess and Suzy- but they were very friendly to us although they did bark occasionally at the birds and the dogs on neighboring properties. The property is very secure with a gate and with bars on all the windows and doors. We never worried at all about leaving our things in the house. There are several good restaurants within 5 minutes drive. One is within walking distance - Momma and Poppa's pizza and Italian. Our favorite was the Indonesian place - Ylang Ylang. It was a little more expensive but so good. The flavours were wonderful. 3 course meal with wine for 2 was $100 USD. We explored the beaches between Playa Dominical and Ojochal and did the Mangrove tour with Kokopelli on the Sierpe river in the Osa peninsula - about 1 hour drive away. It was a highlight of the trip. The Alturas wildlife sanctuary was also a worthwhile stop. Our lunch at the hotel there was great - the Pesto chicken sandwich was a hit with me. Playa Ventanas was only a 5 minute drive away and was great. We also recommend the sunsets and the meal from both El Castillo and the Bamboo Room. The live music at the Bamboo room was great - Canadian blues artists (Chuck Jackson and Tyler Yarema from the Downchild Blues band and the Powder Blues band) were performing. Thanks to our hosts for making our stay so relaxing and enjoyable."

  • Amazing

"I am sitting out on the deck drinking coffee, watching the scarlet macaws and listening to the monkeys with an unbelievable view of the water on our last morning here. Our party of 5 had an amazing time. We have been to Manuel Antonio several times in the past, but this home was by far the best place we have stayed. The staff is so gracious and helpful and the meals that we had at the house were some of the best we have ever had. The location is perfect - easy to walk to several restaurants, ATM, coffee, etc. We hope to be back again soon! Thank you."

  • Our tropical getaway at Casa Puravida!

"Our family had such a wonderful time at Casa Puravida during our tropical vacation! The house was extremely comfortable and we loved the plush landscaping! We got to see so much wildlife on the property such as monkeys, iguanas, birds and even a sloth! The beds were super cozy and I drank my coffee daily in the hammock on the patio. This was a perfect size home for us and we absolutely enjoyed cooling off in the pool after a day at the beach or site seeing. The home has been well kept and newly renovated. Would definitely come here again!"
