  • A Spring Break to Remember - Where the Jungle meets the Sea

"My 12 year old son and I and another family of 4 (2 boys aged 12 and 9) had the most wonderful vacation at this house this past Spring Break. The house is spacious and comfortable, perched high above a wild stretch of Pacific coast. It feels luxurious in an authentic Costa Rican way. It's hard to know where to start. We packed a lot into each day and yet felt totally relaxed and rested when we got home. We hired a wonderful local guide, Nito, to hike both on and near this property and in Corcovado. He made our trip. Not only did we see a lot more than we would have without him, he had a vast knowledge of the ecology of the area and the kids and adults learned a lot. He has also perfected the art of taking a photo with an iPhone 6 through the lens of his swarovsky telescope. I have great photos! Things I recommend: Get up before dawn to catch sunrise and animals on the beach; take a glass of wine down to the beach at sunset (this is NOT a swimming beach. It is beautiful and wild and very powerful so always watch the kids); ask Grace to cook local dishes; ask Juan to take you on a night hike (we had an encounter with a Fer-de-lance that the kids will remember for life ;=); hire a local fisherman to take you out on Golfo Dulce to fish and get up close and personal with dolphins, go to the nearby eco lodges and enjoy cocktails and wifi once or twice, go zip lining through the forest; visit a coco plantation; sleep with the doors and windows wide open to hear the ocean and the wildlife; if you have kids or even if you don't, keep a list each day of all the birds and animals that you see and if you can't identify something look it up in the books at the house each evening. The boys really got into to doing this and argued over who was going to write them all in the owner's book to record wildlife sightings. I could go on and on. This was the perfect vacation. Family, friends, adventure, comfort, amazing wildlife and unspoiled beauty. The owner of this property was extremely helpful and his tips and advice contributed greatly to the success of our vacation. The Osa Peninsular is a very special place. My son and I can't wait to go back."

  • AWESOME location

"Great location, central and walking distance to everything. No car required if staying at this location. Very clean and Very secure building with free parking and wi-fi in unit and at the pool. The pool area was great. Property management company should consider having central place to cook BBQ's Beach chairs and an umbrella would have been nice for us to take to the beach however owner does provide a cooler bag which was handy. Unit is so close to beach, that you can stay at pool, go swim at beach and come back to lounge around at pool. Chairs and umbrellas can be rented on the beach. Kitchen was fully furnished. This unit was very spacious. We where 4 adults. I'm a light sleeper and found the A/C in bedrooms noisy but you also have a ceiling fans which was a bonus. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone travelling to Jaco."

  • Absolutely a beautiful place to stay!

"Casa Tangaroa is an absolutely beautiful place to stay! There was three generations of our family together for vacation and this hous was perfect for us. With plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, everyone had their space. The views are amazing! The kitchen was perfect for the cooking that we did do, and meals on the deck, looking at the scenery was a great way to start or end the day! We all loved the pool, it was so nice to swim & cool off and plenty of room for all 8 of us! Steve the house manager was very helpful with everything about the house AND helping us set up our activities! We were all so pleased with the house and would definitely recommend it!!!"

  • Perfection!!!

"My wife and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary trip at Casa Sandra for eight glorious days, and we couldn't have asked for a better "home" or a better location! From the day we arrived until the day we left, we loved every inch of this property. Since 4-6 could stay here very comfortably, the 2 of us had more than enough space. And a balcony on each floor---facing" the "Jungle" or the Pacific Ocean---is it even necessary to choose an adjective on how great that is?!! Casa Sandra is located in the heart of Manuel Antonio, a couple miles from the town of Quepos, and a couple miles from the famous and popular Manuel Antonio Park. It's within walking distance of grocery stores and many nice restaurants (go to Victoria's and ask for Oscar, trust me). The home is very clean--and there is maid service and laundry service. We always felt safe, including walking at night. And speaking of safe, there's one in the home so one can lock their passports and valuables. We saw monkeys almost daily, and many interesting birds. And the sunsets alone are worth renting this home---better than we saw anywhere else all week. The folks we communicated with before and during our stay here were wonderful--patient, kind, helpful, and easy to get ahold of. We sent many emails beforehand, and a couple calls to ask about things during our stay--and always received a quick response. We wanted to be busy almost every morning, so we told Thomas and Angie what we were interested in, and they set up everything---inhouse massage (excellent), Manuel Antonio Park tour (take a guide---very well worth it, very necessary, and Henry is great!), a Sunset Sail (5 hours of FUN), a Mangrove Tour (educational--and more monkeys!), a Villa Vanilla Spice Tour (again, educational and very interesting), ZipLine (first time for us, and it was incredible!). That including us getting picked up and dropped off at our door for all of these as well! We originally thought we would rent a car all week, but decided to get the van ride from the airport in San Jose to Casa Sandra instead. It was a good decision. Easy to walk almost everywhere, and easy to jump on and off a bus just down the road, which we did often. We did rent a car for 2 days (yes, again, all we had to do was ask the team of Thomas/Angie to take care of this---and they did, dropped off and picked up at our front door!!). We can't say enough about how pleased we were with our accomodations, and the A+/excellent service we received."
