  • The Best

"TL:DR - Really awesome house on the beach with super helpful caretaker. Good food close by. I'd give 6 stars if I could. I have just returned from 4 days at Casa Amore with my family over a long Easter weekend. Three kids, 16, 12 and 9. This place is awesome. I mean really awesome. It's just up the beach from the "downtown" crossroads area of Santa Teresa. Three large bedrooms are very nice, good beds, sheets, towels, etc. Bathrooms are also very nice with good showers. Separate large TV room with AC and big couches for when the kids need downtime. Kitchen is well appointed with everything we needed, including a Vitamix which did the job on smoothies. Bedrooms have AC, main living space does not and we didn't miss it. We didn't come to CR for the AC. The covered porch areas are nicely comfortable with couches, big dining table, hammocks, and a view through the trees to the beach and surf. Properties on either side are empty (no houses), although one of them is a preserve with occasional campers and people walking to the beach. Very low traffic there and nothing concerning. Still, plenty of privacy here. Wifi is good by CR standards. I also can't say enough good things about the caretaker Dave and his wife. They live in a house on the property that is about 100 meters closer to the road from Casa Amore. After you walk or drive by their house you won't see it since Casa Amore is generally oriented towards the beach. Dave was very responsive, very helpful, and I enjoyed talking to him about CR and the variety of options available to us during our stay. You'll see him around once or twice a day if you're outside and looking, but he's not in your space at all and most of the time I communicated with him by email. Very responsive. He was particularly helpful with getting us hooked up with surfing lessons and rentals (all newbies here), and key advice on where to swim and surf. Maid service was great and came once while we were there and that was plenty. She also did a bit of our laundry which was very helpful towards the end of a 9 day trip. For casual food within very close walking distance, nearby is Chicken Joe's. Get the fish tacos or the rotisserie chicken (or anything really). Billy also keeps some local micro brews in the fridge. Really good, and a 3 minute walk from Casa Amore. If we go back to Santa Teresa, and I hope we do, we'll stay at Casa Amore again. Not sure what else anyone could want in a rental."

  • Beautiful view, close to everything

"We were here a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All amenities and the ocean are within walking distance. We did rent a car but only because we wanted to explore other areas nearby. Bus transportation to National Park and Quepos is easy and inexpensive. We stayed in the one bedroom with a beautiful view of the ocean from the veranda. A convenience store and restaurants are all within walking distance. The pool is a short walk down the stairs where we could relax after a day of exploring. Note that the howler monkeys are your alarm clock routinely in the morning if you are a light sleeper. Also, if you are not a night owl, the music from the venues nearby could be loud occasionally. Overall, we had an excellent stay. Anna, Richard and David were very helpful with plenty of tips for our travels. We highly recommend this economical vacation rental!"

  • Stunning Condo; Relaxing Lifestyle

"The property is just stunning; very well maintained. The condo itself is beautifully appointed. My favorite spot was under the Paradise Found sign on the spacious deck, where I must admit I fell asleep several nights in the soft warm air. The pool was always a refreshing dip after the ocean swim. I must warn you that the sand is from lava rock and somewhat course. The ocean temperature is perfect, but be careful of the rip tides and be prepared for some strong waves. Jaco is a surfing destination after all! The food is fantastic; produce as fresh as can be, flavorful and delicious, whether you cook for yourself or eat out."

  • Perfect vacation for adventure seekers!

"We love Tres Palmas! This was our second trip. On both occasions we traveled with another family. This time our group was 4 adults and 5 kids (ages 7-12). This place is not easy to get to, but that is part of the charm. It is truly luxurious, and is such a special place to come "home" to after a long day exploring the HOT jungle, or surfing, horseback riding, ziplining, kayaking, tree climbing, or just a day at the beach! The kids were in the infinity pool at sunrise and pretty much any time we weren't out adventuring! Marvin, Yerlin, and their family are just incredible hosts. They think of everything. We had them shop for us and prepare and clean up all the meals and it is well worth it! Such a treat to not have to worry about feeding everyone and they do a great job of catering to everyone's needs - we had 2 vegetarians in our group and they always made extra veggie side dishes etc. The food is fresh and delicious. Definitely have them make you their ceviche and the empanadas - just 2 of our favorites. The wildlife is plentiful and we saw much of it just lounging at the house. The tours that Brad (the property manager) helped us set up were amazing! We were very busy and active while we were there, but you could easily do much less than we did and still have a wonderful time. Brad was very helpful to work with and we really appreciate all the effort he went to. One of the best vacations we have ever had! We were sad to leave, and hope to be lucky enough to return again!"
