  • Heaven in Costa Rica! Great girls getaway. Wonderful hosts and staff.

"We had a girlfriends' trip to Casa Tranquila for 10 nights starting January 3rd. It is an amazing place to stay (look at photos)! Don and Nathan couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Nathan pre booked all our adventures and also booked our amazing cook, Dari, for four nights during our stay. We never ate out at night because everything we wanted or needed was right at "home." We did have breakfasts and coffee at the wonderful Cafe Milagro, just a short walk from the Casa. I must mention many of the tours included lunch and sometimes breakfast. Our favorite tour was the Zip Lines. Yikes! 10 of them! Also, a very favorable mention for Paulette, our housekeeper. She was so good and so friendly! We hardly lifted a finger. I could be running out of compliments but must add that the Costa Rica people must be the most friendly and beautiful people in any country I have visited. Look for their open demeanor and sparkling white teeth. Back to the Casa... We loved it and our gracious hosts Don and Nathan. They are dedicated to making your stay in Costa Rica the best ever!"

"The house if nice, its all about the location. You can watch beautiful sunrises in the morning and an amazing sunset every afternoon, right in the backyard. The beds are comfortable, the showers have lots of pressure, the kitchen is adequately stocked with accessories (could be upgraded and an oven or BBQ would be nice), lots of plates and silverware, cable tv (in every room, except only one tv), wi fi (that generally always worked) and great new lounge chairs. Trevor the caretaker on site, kept to himself, but available if needed. Dave and Kate property managers, always available if needed. Esterillos Este beach is full of shells, quiet and clean. The Town Center is minutes away, with Farmers Market on Saturdays, nice restaurants, coffee shop, frozen yogurt and a pretty nice Market. The Market carries a variety of supplies, even GF items, and reasonably priced. (I went to Jaco for meats and their Farmers Market on Fridays only). If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, not a lot of excitement or people, this house offers it all. We enjoyed ourselves we stayed one month and will be back again."

  • A week in paradise at Villa Cabomar

"Villa Cabomar was a great place to stay during our recent visit to Puntarenas, Costa Rica and we highly recommend it. Cabell and Martha were wonderful hosts, providing assistance with transportation and suggestions of unique outings including a day catching our own lunch and then enjoying it on Isla Cedros, a private island on the Nicoya gulf. Teresita, their wonderful housekeeper, provided fabulous traditional breakfasts always beginning with the most delicious fruit imaginable!!! The property is lovely; beautifully decorated with local art and furnishings, a well equipped kitchen and clean, fresh and comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. The patio is private with room for outdoor dining or sunning and has a plunge pool for afternoon dips. The beach was just a short walk from the house. We did go to Monteverde and Martha and Cabell arranged for transportation for that day including our driver Dimas, who also provided airport transportation for us. He was very knowledgeable about the country and was able to answer many questions. There are plenty of nearby restaurants to have lunch or dinner after a day of swimming or touring. One of my favorite days was a trip to another beautiful beach, where we got to interact with monkeys and iguanas. So much fun! We'll definitely plan a return visit!"

  • Spectacular trip and locale!

"Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) and my parents just spent an amazing 10 days at Maison Marazul and it ranks as one of our top trips ever. Why? 1) The house and location were incredible. Maison Marazul is a wonderfully cared for property on a spectacular beach. Very private and hidden away and very low key. Just the right size for a smaller extended family with 2 suites with separate entrances and 1 master suite in the main house. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything you needed for cooking or barbecuing. The dipping pool was great to get refreshed after spending some time swimming or exercising at the beach. The outside showers were fabulous. The location is excellent; slightly off the main beach of Santa Teresa, but a 5 minute beach walk for good surfing/boogie boarding (and 15 minute drive to Playa Hermosa). 2) The concierge, Tania, did a wonderful job of helping us to arrange a great assortment of activities: from a daily private yoga lesson to start off the day with Valentina to excellent surf lessons with Gero and Esteban (we have taken our fair share of surf lessons and these were by far the best ones yet), a boat excursion out to Cabo Blanco for fishing and snorkeling and very fun zip lining in Mal Pais. She also shopped prior to our arrival and arranged for us to have a chef both cook at home and bring in prepared meals to cook. We also had some excellent meals out from sushi to tapas to drinks and dinner at Florblanca next door. Santa Teresa has a lot of really good food options. She also arranged for our rental car to be there upon our arrival. She was really a turnkey solution to a very relaxing, restful vacation. AND, there is nothing like reading and napping in the hammocks and have the monkeys pass quietly overhead. Very cool! We look forward to returning and exploring even more: the waterfalls at Montezuma, some more hikes, exploring the inside of the Nicoya bay."
