  • Great house for groups

"We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Manakin. It's a great house for groups, especially couples, since each of the bedrooms is kind of its own suite. There are several rooms that are a bit isolated (up and down external staircases) but it leads to a lot of privacy, and yet there is a great common area/kitchen/pool where you can all come together. We were blown away by how entrenched in the jungle the house is. We were greeted by two toucans in the trees off of our porch, had a "pet" red-eyed tree frog for two days and also had a family of white-faced monkeys who decided to pay us a visit and went so far as to come onto our porches and in the house! We took flashlight nightly tours around the property and saw bats, snakes an frogs. It was endless wonder for the kids and it was nice to be able to walk into town, though big hills on the way home. The beach is within 10 minute driving distance as is the park. It was really a great house that we thoroughly enjoyed during our four day stay in Manuel Antonio."

  • Possibily the best located house in Malpais

"Our family of 5 very much enjoyed our short stay at Casa Celeste: and I agree with the other reviewers. Vicente was welcoming and yet reclusive, the house was rustic, clean and comfortable. The location was the best we say along the shore of Malpais. The owners were responsive and it was easy to book with them. Everything was comfortable and nice. The only thing I missed was a microwave and we got over that quickly. Cold milk with your coffee isn't the end of the world....We had a big truck which was a bit difficult to park in Santa Teresa so I recommend a smaller 4 wheel drive or rent an atv to drive to the store. Visit the tico restaurant Caracoles 2 houses up - wonderful food and very nice hosts. The bakery was excellent, but we preferred to eat breakfast and drink our coffee at the best view in town - Casa Celeste. Visit secret beach at low tide so you can snorkel, but bring your shoes at it's very rocky, but lovely. Make sure you visit Playa Hermosa which I believe is one of the loveliest and safest beaches to swim at in CR. Enjoy!"

  • Casa De Paraiso 155295

"It was amazing to wake up in the morning to the sound of Beautiful Macaws in the tress that surround the house. The pool area is really nice. What really makes this a great experience is Patri, the property manager. She cares about her guests and wants them to have a great experience. She arranged a amazing fishing excursion for my husband. Whatever your interests are, you are in good, caring and competent hands with Patri."

  • Fabulous home!

"Our first visit to Costa Rica and it was fantastic!! Daniel and Bea's home was wonderful, larger than what we needed but it was great having the room for everyone to have their own space. We loved having the ability to open up the glass doors to the patio/pool area and balcony to get those nice breezes during the day. You can have the best of both worlds by eating inside or next to the pool at the outside bar area. One of the greatest parts of the house is that it's tucked away in the jungle so we saw Squirrel monkeys, a sloth, iguana/lizard, bats and heard the Howlers. The monkeys even came to the patio looking for bananas. We had two different chefs come in for two nights of dinners and they were both delicious- it was a bit of a splurge but it was nice to have someone take care of our meals and we felt pampered. While we were there we took advantage of the Segway tour, night jungle tour and the El Santuario Canopy Adventure (zip line) tour. All of our tours were set up by Daniel and Bea, they were a huge help in making sure that we were all set with what we wanted to do while we were there. You could set them up yourself but it was also nice to send them what we were interested in and the days we were thinking of doing each and soon after we got an email back that we were all set and ready to go! Daniel and Bea are wonderful and fun people who truly want their visitors to enjoy their home and all that Costa Rica has to offer. They are on the property so you can see them as much or as little as you would like. They graciously accepted an invitation from us for pizza and drinks one evening to get to know them better, it was a wonderful evening of many laughs and great information! ps... their cat Garfield is adorable!! Thank you Daniel and Bea for making our first trip to Costa Rica a memorable one!"
