  • Amazing...did I mention how Amazing?

"First let me state that I have used many rentals through some sort of Rental by owner website and Daniel is by the far the most helpful, patient and kind owner we have rented from thus far. Though we were not able to meet him (booo, I wanted to thank him in person) he is a fantastic host. Thank you for everything. Now to the Villa, the pictures do not do this place justice. We rented this home to be the location for our 10-year wedding anniversary/vow renewal ceremony and I'm so glad I didn't go with a modern/Hollywood style beach home. This is pure Costa Rican Art/Architecture. We are spending 7 days here (yes still here) and our group( 5 adults) is simply amazed by this home. The pictures cannot show how large and beautiful each bedroom is, the staircase leading to each bedroom is something you would see out of a movie. Each bedroom has a private bath and shower, plus there is one on the lower level by the outdoor shower for when you are spending time by the pool or cooking in the kitchen. I am an avid cook and the kitchen was amazing. I was very impressed with the high quality cuisinart pots and pans with a layer of copper heat distribution. This is a major plus for those who love to cook. The views are amazing from all angles. You fall asleep to the sounds of various birds and awake to the howler monkeys in the distance. You will be visited by iguanas, bats, and insects but don't be discouraged..It's all part of being surrounded by jungle. Please be diligent with the compost bucket and garbage can. His property is beautiful with amazing tropical plants plus a greenhouse and the compost is needed. The hill to the house is beyond steep but we rented ATVs from Pacific Dirt Roads and had no problems going up the driveway in 2nd or 3rd gear. Lola and Carlos are wonderful staff and you will be truly amazed by this home, host, staff, the residential dogs who would followed me everywhere (Ray) especially, and the views. Please book..You will not be disappointed. One last thing, if you are worried about no AC, don't..being on a hill, with massive windows and the fans will keep you cool all night and sleep like a baby. Thank you again Daniel for everything, you and your home are both truly amazing. Pura Vida!!!"

  • A PIECE OF PARADISE!

"My wife & I spent 9 glorious days at this home in April 2016. It seemed like the perfect time to visit prior to the upcoming rainy season. Claudette, the manager of the property, was extremely helpful from the start of reservation to the time of our arrival. She was diligent in responding to our emails concerning questions and advise prior to arriving. She assisted with our car rental arrangements with Adobe Car Rental (highly recommend)! Upon arrival, she met us and helped us become familiar with our new surroundings. The home presents itself exactly as the photos represent. It was clean, comfortable, good A/C, water pressure, internet, cable TV, and a spacious porch with a hammock, which got a lot of use. The beach access could not be better, walk down the driveway to the beach. We had the beach to ourselves for the majority of the time, warm water, and good waves to swim and surf. We are beach people, so not having any crowds or intrusions on the beach was fantastic. Claudette was able to refer us to a superb boat captain for inshore and offshore fishing while we were there. We fished 2 separate mornings and ate our catch at the end of the day. The chef at the nearby beach restaurant/hotel prepared our catch for dinner that same evening. What a setting for dinner!! The Esterillos Centro location was ideally located between Jaco Beach and Manuel Antonio. Make sure you visit both towns. We made several trips to Jaco Beach as they have larger grocery stores (Auto Macado), banks/ATM, and pharmacies. A visit to Los Suenos Resort and Marina is worth the time near Jaco. A rental car is a necessity with this rental home, but allows you to tour the countryside, try local restaurants, and mix in the local culture. We also took a 3 hour ATV tour among the hills providing breathtaking views, swimming in the waterfalls, and driving in the river beds, a real blast! We felt very safe in the home and the area, using normal judgement of locking the doors at night and not tempting things to theft. The house is wired with an alarm system for added security. This was one of our top vacations and we made many friends in this small town. We plan to visit again next year and will reserve this home again, already looking forward to Claudette's hospitality and accommodation!"

  • A Spring Break to Remember - Where the Jungle meets the Sea

"My 12 year old son and I and another family of 4 (2 boys aged 12 and 9) had the most wonderful vacation at this house this past Spring Break. The house is spacious and comfortable, perched high above a wild stretch of Pacific coast. It feels luxurious in an authentic Costa Rican way. It's hard to know where to start. We packed a lot into each day and yet felt totally relaxed and rested when we got home. We hired a wonderful local guide, Nito, to hike both on and near this property and in Corcovado. He made our trip. Not only did we see a lot more than we would have without him, he had a vast knowledge of the ecology of the area and the kids and adults learned a lot. He has also perfected the art of taking a photo with an iPhone 6 through the lens of his swarovsky telescope. I have great photos! Things I recommend: Get up before dawn to catch sunrise and animals on the beach; take a glass of wine down to the beach at sunset (this is NOT a swimming beach. It is beautiful and wild and very powerful so always watch the kids); ask Grace to cook local dishes; ask Juan to take you on a night hike (we had an encounter with a Fer-de-lance that the kids will remember for life ;=); hire a local fisherman to take you out on Golfo Dulce to fish and get up close and personal with dolphins, go to the nearby eco lodges and enjoy cocktails and wifi once or twice, go zip lining through the forest; visit a coco plantation; sleep with the doors and windows wide open to hear the ocean and the wildlife; if you have kids or even if you don't, keep a list each day of all the birds and animals that you see and if you can't identify something look it up in the books at the house each evening. The boys really got into to doing this and argued over who was going to write them all in the owner's book to record wildlife sightings. I could go on and on. This was the perfect vacation. Family, friends, adventure, comfort, amazing wildlife and unspoiled beauty. The owner of this property was extremely helpful and his tips and advice contributed greatly to the success of our vacation. The Osa Peninsular is a very special place. My son and I can't wait to go back."
