  • I thought our vacation was doomed! This owner and concierge made sure this vacation was our best!!

"The day we were to leave I checked the weather for Costa Rica and it was forecasted for rain and thunderstorms all week. I called Simone to cancel our vacation and pay any penalty. Simone encouraged me to go and said if the weather was bad and ruins our vacation that she will give us another weeks vacation for free. That was all I needed to hear! We were off! We live in south Florida, as it turned out the weather in Costa Rica this time of year is much like Florida. Wait 20 minutes and the weather will clear. We did have one day of overcast skies and light rain . That was the day we went to the rain forest, how apprapoe, it was a blast. The condo unit is just as the pictures show. Located on the south side of the Los Suenos resort close to the water with a nice view from the patio deck. We are a family of six with three teenage girls and a favorite son. The condo was plenty big enough for all of us and is in excellent shape. The Los Suenos resort is a well planed beautiful resort. The condo comes with a golf cart, which normally cost $50/day to rent and a pool/beach club membership. You can go to the Marriott pools but it is expensive and not worth it since you have the beach /pool club membership nearby. The beach /pool club has a swim up bar and restaurant as well. You can eat on campus at the Marriott or the Marina. decent food but expensive. We choose to eat off campus. Check out El Pelicano right outside the main gate towards the beach. Fantastic food! Simone the owner and E the concierge make a great team! they make sure your vacation is Con Pura Vida! Simone would text me time to time to make sure everything was ok and E worked very hard to take care of our every need and book our daily events. On one night we celebrated one of our daughter's birthday, E surprised us when we returned from dinner by baking our daughter a birthday cake and leaving it at the condo for us to find on our return! Our daily excursions were greatly enhanced because we choose to rent a 4 wheel drive diesel SUV rather then take a cab to and from the airport and the resort. It cost $500 but was well worth it! This vehicle made it possible for us to go off the beaten path and do some excursions that you would not normally be able to do. Bottom line Simone and E succeed in making this a Con Pura Vida vacation! If you want to stay at a well appointed resort and still be able to immerse yourself in the culture then look no further! Pura Vida"

  • Awesome people, awesome property, perfect location....

"This is a perfect base for an adventurous visit to Costa Rica! Elizabeth and Eduardo, the owners, live just below the rental. They were absolutely wonderful to work with. They helped us before the trip with everything from making sure our cell phones would work, to sorting out and making reservations for activities, to providing perfect directions for finding the place in the dark. Once we were there, Elizabeth and her family (including three very friendly loving dogs) very much embraced us at the level we wanted. When we needed help finding something in the house, they were there, but they were never intruding. Elizabeth was wonderful at being available by email whenever we had a question. Eduardo and Elizabeth invited us to join them for a bonfire for New Year's Eve, which was a great time. They are lovely people, and we enjoyed their children Cooper and Shane a lot too! The home itself was great! It has four very separate bedrooms, and one huge great room/kitchen area joining all of them. We were two couple and two single people, and we all had plenty of space and privacy; while at the same time there was plenty of room to work as a group in the kitchen, and hang out on the deck together. The house is only a few years old, and is in great shape. There is plenty of everything in the kitchen for you to use, and everything works. Because the home is on the edge of the jungle, you will definitely see lots of birds, butterflys, flowers, and the corresponding insects. This is not a sterile inclusive resort, but a very clean and tidy home on the edge of the jungle. Expect the howler monkeys to wake you most mornings, which we all thought was very cool! The driveway is steep and exciting as you come up the hill from Dominicalita. If you are from the country, it's no big deal. If you aren't used to challenging dirt roads, well, you will be fine but don't be surprised. Both for easy access to this place and for getting around, it is nice to have a roomy 4 wheel drive vehicle. The local people are also wonderful. Dominicalita, a couple km away, is a sweet little very local town where you can get basic groceries and lots of smiles. Basic Spanish knowledge is helpful, but not required. You can get to tons of activities within a half hour drive. We are all happy to endorse Elizabeth and this rental...we give it 5 stars. Mike from Michigan"

  • FANTASTIC STAy in Paradise!

"My husband and I and our 20 year old son recently spent a fabulous week over Christmas at Playa Lapa in Carate. If you and your family are true nature lovers wanting a remote unspoiled destination to completely unplug from the pressures and stresses of modern life, then you will be in seventh heaven. If you need air conditioning, constant entertainment, wide screen TV’s, hair dryers, a huge fridge and constant electricity look elsewhere. There is no electricity, just solar panels. We were probably over cautious with our extremely minimal use of lights in the evening as we really wanted our fans to work in the bedroom! The master bedroom was quite cool, but our son’s room did not have as much circulation and he did get bug bites at night. The description on the website is very accurate...but the pictures really do not do it justice. It is gorgeous and the approach to the house from the gate with its royal palms looks like the entry to the Garden of Eden. We did several hikes-one 18 kilometer hike to the famed Sirena Station with our own guide and saw the elusive and most friendly puma reclining in the shade, a napping tapir, a band of up to 30 coatis, collared anteater, countless birds including scarlet macaws, the Costa Rican coast guard (brown pelicans), egrets, hawks, eagles, owls, trogons, basilisks, peccaries. We also saw trees with up to a dozen scarlet macaws, sloths , magnificent scenery with a swim in a waterfall and spied the much feared Fer de Lance venomous snake-all with the expert guidance of Cristhian Jimenez, a great guide recommended by the owners. The beach outside the house is insanely beautiful, the sand is soft and velvety and the sunsets outstanding, but real swimming can only be done at low tide. Because the destination is so remote with absolutely no air pollution, the night sky is amazing!! We made our own breakfasts and cooked the occasional meal. While there is a gas stove, an outside BBQ and a medium sized fridge, I was on vacation and wanted to have meals at the neighboring eco lodges. We did not rent a car as we did not feel comfortable driving through rivers to reach Carate. We kayaked in the nearby lagoon and loved it. We heartily recommend Playa Lapa Enjoy!"

  • The Monkey House!

"Our family of eight really enjoyed this house. The house was clean, modern and had ample space for our group. The true highlight was seeing the monkey's jump from tree to tree just off of the patio and our 7 year old daughter loved the pool! Maykol was a great property manager. We did many of the tours and activities he recommended and were not disappointed. Activities included Manual Antonio N. P. guided hike, horseback ride, canyoning, parasailing, surf lessons, and a private chef dinner. There are two staircases in the house to access all the bedrooms and there is a larger staircase to get from the parking lot to the house. The other itsmycasa.com house is at the same level as the parking lot. The hill is steep to get up to the main road but our group ranging in age from 7 to 77 walked up it with no problem. Overall a great experience at Casa Mono Titi!"
