  • Quinta Sonada, A sweet time on the sweet Gulf.

"Staying at Quinta Sonada was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. This place is exactly how it is described. You are situated right on the beach .My wife and i spent ten nights just hanging around and just enjoying Gods creation.Beautiful grounds, lots of birds, monkeys, and just a very relaxing time, nice breezes. We were there in Febuary, and we had no rain, and it was very warm.We would go swimming every morning and afternoon. We enjoyed swimming at Tomales beach and right in front of the house. The beach in the front has a rocky beach and water sandals are advised, but it is not a real problem to keep you from just walking out the door for a swim. The caretakers,Jose,Eliatha, and Joselito are there if you need anything. We had Eleatha cook us many dinners that were just great. The house is on a very good well, with good safe drinking water. There is a good fridge that keeps everything cold, and a good stove for cooking.Chris has the place stocked real nice with lots of books and cds .There is a couple Kayaks to take out which i did. When staying at Chris's place you have the option of heading out to explore the area or to just hang.We loved just hanging out and enjoying the place. We had no problem with mosquito's,but you should bring some citronella candles or coils just in case,Chris the owner is very easy to work.To sum it up the place is exactly as it is advertised and you will not be disappointed."

  • A great place for nature lovers who seek comfort and convenience.

"We stayed at Casa Lutecia for the last week of March and it was a perfect place for us, as family of two middle-aged parents and two boys, ages 7 & 10. The house is beautifully and simply furnished, accurately depicted in the website's photos. Staying in an open-air house (with screens) really helped us acclimate to the hot weather, and the surrounding tree cover made it very comfortable even on bright, sunny days. Walking through the jungle to get to the beach always felt magical. During that short walk, we saw a basilisk lizard, a toucan, leaf-cutter ants, howler monkeys, and many other creatures. At the house in the mornings we were alternately visited by howler monkeys and white faced capuchins. Green parrots squawked from high branches; a couple of geckos climbed the screens outside at night. Apparently we missed seeing a pair of scarlet macaws fly by one day, but we saw several pairs at various times during our canopy tour and Nauyaca Waterfall trip. We also visited the wildlife rescue shelter just north of Uvita, where we saw baby sloths, an anteater, a squirrel spider monkey, among others. When we felt like swimming, we could take the short walk to the beach or take a short drive to Uvita to cool off at Cascada Verde, a wonderful set of swimming holes and waterfalls. The kitchen had what we needed and the internet worked perfectly. If you are looking for a place that is low key, clean, private (we rarely saw others on the beach), and comfortable, this is the place for you. Notable attractions were the Osa zipline tour and the waterfalls. Playa Arco is breathtaking. We came at the wrong time for whale watching, but the surf was great for boogie boards with our kids."

  • Beautiful Grounds & View

"We enjoyed our stay at Casa Vista very much. The view by the pool is stunningly beautiful. Diane & Peter are wonderful hosts. They will help you with planning tours or just be there for a chat. It's nice to know if you need anything they are always there to help. There was one little issue which really wasn't too much a big deal. We had booked a different cabin/casita, the one with the view but unfortunately we couldn't stay there because of construction. Diane did put us in a different cabin which was larger but it didn't have the wonderful view like the one we had originally booked. The pool area was lovely, we definitely took advantage cooling off in the pool after a hot day touring. The weather was prefect but definitely keep in mind during the dry season it gets really hot! We kept busy everyday, there are many things to do and wonderful places to eat. We found many beaches with no one on them and others that were somewhat crowded so don't be afraid to venture off the main road. Our stay was for 18 days, lots of time to get to know the area and time to chill. During our stay the area hosts a big festival called Envision. It definitely changes the feel of the area. It was much busier and the beaches at times were crowed. So if you decide to go to the South Pacific/Domincal area in late February and don't want the crowds you may want to double check the dates of this festival/Envision. If we had known we would have definitely avoided staying in that area. You definitely need a 4WD! Don't even try to get there without one. But once you get to the top and see the view you will see it's all worth it. So just go with it and enjoy the adventure. Diane & Peter have a wonderful dog, Kirby that I fell in love with, so very cute. You won't have any regrets staying at Casa Vista, you will just have great memories that will stay with you for many years. Thanks to Diane, Peter & Kirby for making our stay a wonderful experience."

  • Amazing condo and location!

"Jaco is my new vacation town of choice! The condo complex and condo are beautiful and the perfect location from all of he restaurants/shops. The views are breathtaking and you can hear the ocean in almost every room. The amenities of this specific condo were great! Everything you need. There is very friendly 24 hour security which we liked since it was 3 young women. Would highly recommend Vista Las Palmas and Jaco to everyone."
