  • Great place for a relaxing spring break trip with the family.

"Great location away from the crowds at Jaco or Manuel Antonio. The beach is right across the dirt road in front of the house and is very remote. Most of the time, I didn't see any other people on the beach as far as I could see. The shallower waves were perfect for the kids to boogie board. If you're a more experienced surfer, they were breaking about 6 ft high a little further out. There were boogie boards and surf boards in the garage that we could use. After returning from the beach, it was nice to have an outdoor shower and pool. The charcoal grill in the back worked great for burgers and chicken. The kitchen had everything we needed. Loved laying in the hammock listening to the waves crash. We stocked up at Walmart in San Jose before driving down. However, there was also a new, smaller supermarket just a couple of miles from the house that had everything you could need. It's in a shopping center with a coffee shop and some restaurants. Overall, it's a good quiet location on a beautiful beach. Kids loved it. Would definitely stay here again."

  • Fantastic!

"We had a group of 5 people that spent 10 days at Casa Marmaris--most went for the surfing. The house is located at Backwash Bay -- which at the time we went was the best break! Tides are extreme--and Backwash breaks at mid to low tide (although we weren't there when it was big)! The house and grounds are fantastic--the views incredible! And the sound of the jungle make things interesting! Ximena was great to deal with for booking her house! Desiree and her husband Isaac were the caretakers of the house and were extremely helpful! We had Desiree cook for us every night---her choice of typical Costa Rican cuisine--and it was great every night! When others have said you should buy what you want to eat in Puerto Jiminez--they were right--it's a 20-30 minute drive back to Puerto Jiminez on some rocky roads! We paid Desirre to go to Puerto Jiminez and buy food and beer and wine for the 10 days we were there!! Best move we made!! Also would have to say a trip to the Lookout Inn towards Carate--is a worthwhile trip!! Plan on eating lunch there if you go--outstanding and reasonably priced--about a 45 minute drive! Keep in mind this is a remote location--no electricity--the main house is open--although all rooms have screens! I took plenty of bug spray and never used it and never was bit--I'm sure it has to do with the time of year. Internet works well! Also the howlers, geckos , raccoons and the macaws are ever entertaining! Want a tropical jungle experience whether you surf or not--great place!"

  • Amazing home in Costa Rica

"Los 3B's was AMAZING!! I can not say enough about how beautiful the house is. It had everything we needed for our spring break vacation with 2 families staying there (4 adults and 6 kids). With the pool open to the kitchen and living area, the kids were able to swim at-will while the parents relaxed on the comfy furniture. The house sits at the top of the hill, and the view and sounds of the jungle was unforgettable. We had monkeys, birds, sloths, and iguanas that we could enjoy watching from the comfort of the house. There is a TV that never needed to be turned on. The kids were completely entertained without modern technology. The kitchen is fully stocked if you want to cook, but the chef, May, was wonderful. She prepared delicious, fresh homemade meals so there is no need to go out to eat while there unless you want to. She even taught me how to make empanadas. I would recommend renting a car if you stay here as the house sits at the top of the canopy and has a short but steep drive up, but the road is paved and easy to navigate even at night. Dorit and Marcela in the office answered all our questions and helped set up any activity we wanted to do. They were very easy to get ahold of and happy to help. When we return to Costa Rica will definitely be staying in Los 3B's again."
